and yet we had all the doom and gloom forecasts leading up to Black Friday. It's the same every year. I'm surprised that the seacoast vendors here haven't started their reports on how bad summer 2008 is going to be for the tourist season..... doom and gloom sells. All i heard about on Wednesday night was tales of unbelievable delays at the airports, stress from the holiday, traffic on the roads. Woke up Friday to find that none of it came to be.

Ah yes, moral relativism. That's worked so well for society so far hasn't it? Nothing is wrong anymore...

That's not *my* idea of fun. Last year, largely thanks to GottaDeal, I never stepped into a store and I saved a ton. On BF, I had a fire going in the fireplace and we were having bloody marys while watching a movie. THAT is my idea of fun.

I guess it depends on what your time is worth.

I think it's pretty ironic that those that think that re-selling the tickets is fine and who ridicule those who think otherwise then turn around and complain when the store puts in rules that THEY don't like such as limiting tickets. Sometimes in the very same post! I guess it just comes down to whose ox is being gored, doesn't it?

YES! Scrooge (1970), a musical with Albert Finney as Scrooge. For those of you unfamiliar with the movie, remember those credit card commercials with the jingle, "Thank you very much, thank you very much, that's he nicest thing that anyones ever done for me...." That was the big song from that movie and it was nominated for an Oscar for that song. Not available on DVD last time I checked but I found a burned one on Ebay last year. and here are the scenes:

Amen. I haven't bothered for a couple years now. I did a Best Buy 3-4am run a few years ago. When I hear about people showing up the day before, I realized that they could have it. My time is worth way more than anything they could possibly have saved and I avoid having to deal with the re-sellers and other less than upstanding types as well.

I suspect it's because PA wants their cut on the taxes. Years ago, the governor of the People Republic of Massachusetts stationed undercover Mass State Police in the NH state liquor store parking lots (liquor stores in NH are state-run). The troopers would take down the plate number of Mass cars and radio to the border at which point the car would get pulled over and fined, ticketed, whatever. To correct the problem, the Gov. Meldrim Thompson (otherwise known as Give em hell Mel) sent NH state police to the lots and arrested the Mass troopers for loitering. HA!

I picked up a set of tickets 20 rows from the stage at Fenway through this pre-sale.

I got mine as well for the ipod dock. I had about 10 different rebates I mailed at Christmas and have now received them all.

I just knocked $100 off the price of a ragtop for next week when we're in Florida by going through Priceline.

I wouldn't be concerned about the low miles at all. Tires, hoses and belts are maintenence items. Condensation might be an issue but only with shortening the life of an exhaust system not engine life. Carbon build up might be a concern with the engine if it's seen nothing but city driving. But again, a few rips on the highway will go a long way to clearing that out. As recommended, run the carfax. Confirm the miles are legit.

We've used www.cruisedeals.com in the past. But, we just booked through http://www.surecruise.com/ and have not found a better deal. We booked a 7 night Mexican Rivera with a balcony on Holland.
