  1. personally, I'm a Christian and my cards always read "Merry CHRISTmas", but the Happy Holidays thing didn't bother me cause then it didn't matter if the customer celebrated Christmas, Hannuka, Kwanza, etc
  2. I'm almost done too....of course it won't keep me away from BF, I enjoy the rush of it all...but not sure how much $$ I'll be spending... come on Walmart....
  3. Just got back from Target. Ours does NOT have one of those cool scanners you can type the codes in to I did find a very cute and helpful clerk who tried to track down one of those BBQ crockpots, but no luck. In fact, they didn't have ANY of the items I found out about on here And our Halloween clearance is GONE, but boy has Christmas moved in! lol I did get Monopoply for $10, so it wasn't a total loss...and then I went to Old Navy....WOW!!!
  4. good question....does anyone know what price point they sell those awesome items at if it's returned or not picked up from a LAW??
  5. I wish I had known about these coupons last year! I signed up a couple of days ago...any idea if there is a time-lag from sign up to actually receiving the coupons? Thanks to whoever posted the link last week for the TRU coupons, I got the DVD my kids wanted AND the fur-real puppy!
  6. I have never used LAW on BF, so it won't affect my shopping there for BF, but I WILL miss having it available. I've got toys in LAW right now...not really sure what I'll do next year, I really don't want another credit card

    Line Jumpers

I totally understand joining a family member in line, especially a child. However, even if you have NO intention of getting an additional item, nobody else knows that! Heck, EVERYONE can say, "oh no, I'm not getting another one of those laptops, I'm just standing with my son/sister/mother/aunt/etc" and then get inside and you each grab the items. Most of us have been the 'victims' of 'line hoppers' and I tell you, THAT is where a lot of the violence comes from. Now I will never hurt someone, or allow myself to be hurt just for the sake of a bargin price, but people get crazy this time of year. Add frigid weather, sleep deprevation and a need to use the bathroom and you have a recipie for madness...
  8. you have to make sure it's the EXACT item too...anything that is different will make it ineligible for price matching...I take all my sales ads with me and they will do it right at the register it also has to be a real price, no percentages off, no buy-one-get-one deals, etc
  9. I usually grab some hot chocolate and a croissant from Tim Hortons on my way to Walmart to stand outside (super walmart this year though!!), then my sil and I go frantically from store to store and end up at the mall where we have lunch at the GOOD chinese take out place around 11am the only things I take in my bag are wallet, sales ads and diet pepsi :) ok...maybe some chocolate too...
  10. I got my son Dogz for GBA last year and he still plays it! We don't have a nintendo ds, so I don't know how close the games are, but this one is cute...worth the money in my opinion :)
  11. I do this for my customers...they love it!
  12. Guitar Hero 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance are on my kids' lists
  13. Thanks for the link! I didn't get one in the mail OR in my newspaper, so I looked at the book online and printed my coupons then went to the store. They didn't have any of the books at the store either! But I was able to use my coupons thankfully (on a side note, all their Halloween is 75% off...I got $20 and $30 costumes for my kids for dress-up for $4-$5 each!!!)
  14. I have to say I'm with a lot of you too...I'm pretty much done. Although it won't keep my away from BF I'm still waiting for Walmart's ad...that's my big stop on BF
  15. My husband brought home the TRU Toy Book, so I gave each kid a different set of colored smile stickers and they put them on the items they wanted. Then I took my 8 yo twins to Walmart and told them that we were going to get stuff for little boys who might not get a Christmas and to help me pick out stuff that 8 yo boys like. I told them they could only pick out the REALLY most COOL stuff, cause we couldn't get a ton of things...they had a blast! Then we put it all in layaway (won't be able to do this next year though) and they came home and told daddy all the cool things we were getting for other boys. When I was putting all the stuff in layaway, they started to think and said things like "I want that too...", I told them when we got home we'd add these to their wish lists. They thought that was a great idea. So now I've got their 'coolest' picks in layaway, and hopefully some of it will go on sale before the take-out date.
  16. I worked at TFT for several years...you are totally correct that the older kids get left out. You can find CD players for around $10 and those are REALLY enjoyed. Those personal, hand-held games that are a single game...not gameboys, etc but like Solitaire, Black Jack, etc are also good gifts and don't cost too much. Those are items if you are looking to buy more than one gift, if you are looking to buy one nice gift, I'd go with a 'boom box'; portable stereo.
