  1. I have definitely thought about this before, but since the line snakes between the appliances, I've always wondered what the people near me would think of going through the line empty-handed, or almost empty-handed, and then just opening up a random oven to get my MP3 player or DVD or whatnot... -Mark-
  2. I think we all know my answer to this (if you don't, see my "location" to the left) --- I will have to wait and see if I actually even get a chance to buy both. But then again, if they do the same thing here they did last year, what's a combined savings of ~$600-$700 when I can just buy a regular desktop and laptop at full price ($1,200) and get a free $150 gift card?!? -Mark-
  3. Sheesh; just watched a story about the X360 on my local news and they've got a long line outside Best Buy already. They said some started lining up before the store even closed (at 10 PM). The Best Buy, of course, does not open until 9 AM this morning. Glad I got over my feeling of needing to get one. I'm just not an Xbox guy (now, the PS3, watch out!) -Mark-

    Media Play????

Media Play's BF ad is typically not leaked beforehand. You will have to wait until Thanksgiving when you get the ad in your local paper. -Mark-
  5. Thanks! It works for me now. Looks like I will now definitely have to go to Meijer on both Thanksgiving and BF. Thanks again for the ads! -Mark-
  6. Could you just try posting the links again, but put a space somewhere in the link so it doesn't automatically truncate it like that? -Mark-
  7. Not working for me... when I click on the link, it has the ellipsis (...) in the URL. I'm assuming that's not actually supposed to be part of the link? -Mark-
  8. I think Meijer is pretty good about that. Never tried it on BF before, but I can't imagine there being a problem with it. -Mark-
  9. But you get the super special added benefit that no one else here does...anyone know what I'm thinking of? That's right; you get to experience it with RossMAN. I'm sure he will be much better company than my brother (although he is fun to be with as well) -Mark-
  10. I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Obviously, Thursday classes are cancelled this week, so I've only got ONE day of school, on Tuesday, and then my mind will be nothing but BLACK FRIDAY 2005! -Mark-
  11. Oh, you know it . It's kind of hard to think that back then I was thinking "it's only 75 days away!" And now, with 4 days to go, I'm agonizing and feel like it's so far away -Mark-
  12. Cool. Thanks for bumping up one of my very first BF threads of the year . Man, I guess I've been waiting a LONG time for this year's Black Friday (thread created on 9/11, with 75 days to go). And now it's only 4 days away! -Mark-
  13. Is there any fine print associated with that Roomba Discovery for $149.99? Regular price on that is something like $270!! And Roombas are almost never on sale. -Mark-
  14. Nope; no maps here (although I was already very well aware of the store's layout) -Mark-
  15. Heh. BF time is always the time every year where I hear about all these interesting stores that aren't in my area.. -Mark-
  16. Media Play is running a promotion where, if you buy $30 in gift cards, you get one regularly priced item for 20% off. I did not see any restrictions listed anywhere about video game hardware. YMMV. Good luck. -Mark-

    Amazon???

Amazon.com does not offer any special Black Friday sale, as is the case with virtually every e-retailer. -Mark-
  18. Unfortunately, Ross, the rules do state that BB Bucks are not good in combination with coupons... -Mark-
  19. Actually, he rarely goes overboard on spending. In fact, one of the biggest drivers for him are the free JC Penney snowglobes . I think for him it's the experience over anything else, and the fact that it's become a tradition. We also sometimes go with a friend, so it's just a fun outing. So I guess that's why he's not really excited to see the ads early -- he probably won't be buying much anyway. -Mark-
  20. I've been going with my brother on BF for the past few years, and he simply will not look at the BF ads that have already been leaked. He says it's pointless to look at them before Thanksgiving. He also thinks we need to wait in the Sears line an hour early or more to get the $10 gift card, even though we can save hundreds of dollars if we go to Best Buy instead. He barely even wants to talk about Black Friday. I wish I could have that kind of mentality... but since I don't, he's driving me crazy. -Mark-
  21. Cool. Thanks very much for the info! -Mark-
  22. I'm hoping for another freebie this year. Last year, they gave away free wall clocks on Thanksgiving Day. I have not yet gone to Big Lots on BF because of their Thanksgiving Day sale (usually some pretty good stuff there and I can get more than enough "Big Lots" type stuff then without having to stop there on BF). -Mark-
  23. I went with my brother to Best Buy today and it was so hard to restrain myself from buying something. I have to save as much $ as possible for BF, and right now, at crunch time, I'm finding it harder and harder to do so. -Mark-
