  1. Same here! I reminded hubby to be sure he uses it.
  2. There were still some things left at our Walmart, but nothing that I wanted or needed - except chocolate covered cherries for 24 cents a box, lol. My hubby loves them so I stocked up!
  3. We got this for ds4 for Christmas and he loves it! The other night hubby took him out with it in the snow and they had to keep cleaning off the tires for traction, lol. I went out for a while to watch and they were having a blast!! Ds is 46+ pounds and it goes fast on pavement and a moderate speed on grass with slight hills and in snow. My son was plenty happy with how fast it went, so it was worth it!
  4. I placed my order on Christmas night. I got the votives by UPS today, but the jar candle I ordered is backordered. They only charged my card $13.62 and the candles were on sale for $0.99 each (I bought 16), so with tax and shipping it appears that they applied the coupon to the portion they charged already.
  5. Check carefully before ordering because some of the items I'm familiar with weren't good prices. They had the All Small & Mighty for $4.99 and I bought it yesterday for $3.79 regular price. (I like the small, lightweight bottle because it's easy on a prego!) Also, the Brunton Classic Compass is $9.99 which is a reasonable price, but I found it just a couple days ago for $9.72 for our Scouts who are crossing over in March. The snowflake duvet cover looked like a nice deal. :)
  6. I looked last night and found the deal in queen, but unfortunately every color I tried was sold out. I found one color not sold out and it sold out about 30 seconds later!
  7. Wahhhh! Don't make fun of a pregnant hormonal woman!!!
  8. Thanks, Rossman. I checked it out and Best Buy still had the best price AR, so I picked one up today when I went to return a video game I bought for my son that he already has had for months. P.S. Why is it that only mom buys duplicates and Santa doesn't?!?! Twice I heard, "Thanks, Mom. Ummm... I have this already."
  9. From Hubby: Canon Digital Rebel XT w/ 2 lenses and a Canon i6220 photo printer Maternity sweater From kids: 10 piece set Corningware French White (errr, I bought it and too lazy to wrap it so hubby gave it to the kids and told them it was their gift to me, lol) A little porcelain Christmas tree that opens and there's a wreath inside (from the school sale - they picked it out together - cute) From my mom: $100 that I put toward my KitchenAid From mil: $100 Visa GC (For hubby and I but he said that I can have it to buy CF card for camera) From Aunt and Uncle: Snowman Tealight Holder Round heavy glass tealight holder w/ a funky star candle - smells awesome Hubby got: From my mom: Mountain Hardwear Mountaineering Pants From me: Mountain Hardwear Jacket (to go with pants) A bunch of assorted other little stuff From kids: Black Diamond Ice Axe From his mom: Visa GC he gave to me, lol He was thrilled with his gifts because he got everything he wanted. Oh yeah! I also got a $50 GC to EMS that I gave to him. I got it because they overcharged me and the manager was a jerk. I called the District Manager and she said she'd refund my overcharge and I told her it would be fine to just send a GC since I like to shop there anyway. I was due back about $15 and she sent me $50 with a handwritten note of apology!
  10. I'll be cooking...TGIFriday appetizers, lol. I'll probably make myself a marble boule with spinach dip. Hubby will probably want some shrimp. I like to just do pickins. We certainly won't be going out since I'm about 7 months pregnant and besides, we have a four year old. My nine year old decided to stay at his dad's next weekend. Usually we go for a New Year's Day hike at a state park nearby, but I'm not sure I'll be up for that this year. It's pretty rigorous, but I like to start the year with the best foot forward. I think maybe I'll go out for an easy hike to try some photos with my new camera that Santa brought. :)
  11. I've narrowed it down based on my camera and test speeds on various cards. I'd like to have either a SanDisk Ultra II or SanDisk Extreme III card in 1GB size. Thanks for any help finding a good deal!
  12. We had to go to mil's yesterday, so not much shopping. Hubby's nieces and nephew wanted to go to WalMart so we went there with them. What a zoo! It was not at all like our WalMart and was a disaster area!!! I did, however, bring a flyer from Game Crazy that mil had in her flyer pile and pricematched Tony Hawk American Wasteland for $29.99. It was a huge line in electronics, but he'll be happy to get it. On the way home I ran into CVS for some Tums for my prego self (only thing I asked Santa for but didn't get, lol) and saw some bargains on candy/food for 50% off. I grabbed a bag of Hershey miniatures ($1.49) and put those in the freezer. Also got hubby some York Peppermint Patties ($1.49) and a Hickory Farms Summer Sausage ($1.99). Oh yeah, chocolate covered cherries for 99 cents. I might go out today. I'm not sure yet. I'm really into this online ordering now thanks to GD. I might never leave my house again, lmao!!! My online finds thanks to GD: Yankee Candle - Jar candle and 16 voties ~$22 BN.com - 4 books and a calendar/organizer ~ $28
  13. Very nice deal on that set! We already have all of those pieces except for the barrel loader, so I'll have to look for that separately. Sometimes I get senile and buy duplicates, but ds4 doesn't want to return them, lol. I do have one piece that I've talked him into letting me exchange and he has a TRU gift card, so you know where I'll be directing him. Very, very good deal!!! This stuff is so darn addicting, lol. You should have seen my hubby and this 60 year old grandpa in TRU looking at the pieces and comparing notes on track configurations. The wife and I were wondering if they liked the sets better than the kids, hehe. My son does love them though, and pretty much plays with them every day so it's a good investment for him. :) It is also nice because if I want to get him a little something, I can pick up one of the $3.99 pieces and know that I'm not buying some junk toy that daddy's just going to throw away anyway. The GeoTrax and Thomas trains are the only things that are truly safe when Daddy comes with black lawn bag in hand to do a toy clearout, lol.
  14. Thanks! I got two digital photography books, two outdoor books, and the same calendar/planner that I used last year that I loved, all for $28. :) I wasn't going to buy the stuff but hubby said go ahead, lol. I was going to go to Barnes & Noble last night for a digital photography book but was too tired by the end of the day. I'd better stop this or I'm never going to have to leave my house! I was just thinking that soon I'll be doing the delivery on my groceries and then I'll never have to leave except for doctor appointments, lol.
  15. I'm looking to buy a Compact Flash card to use with my digital SLR camera. I'd like at least a 1 gig card. At this point I'm just starting with the camera and would like to be able to hold a reasonable amount of photos. My 512mb card will only hold 41 photos, so another card is a must. Any good bargains out there? So far I'm considering the PNY 1GB at Staples for $59.94 - $10 easy rebate. I am also thinking about the Hitachi 4GC Microdrive reg. $179 on sale for $149 + $50 rebate at Best Buy. Any suggestions or other deals I should consider? If anyone is familiar with digital SLR's, do you think either of these would be quality enough to write at reasonable speeds for continuous shooting in RAW + JPG format? The Hitachi writes at 7.2mb/sec. and a SanDisk Ultra II writes at 9mb/sec., for example. I wonder how much difference I will notice and if it's worth the huge jump in price. I'd be interested to look at any good CF card deals that anyone can find. Thanks!
  16. I personally have only ever bought one track pack, and have more track than we know what to do with! Each of the kits usually comes with some track, so if you start getting GeoTrax, you will have plenty in no time! I usually like to get them when they're 50% off on all Fisher Price toys. Also, I sometimes pick up the little pieces that are $3.99 and many of those come with track, too. Don't jump the gun on buying track separately, because imo, after doing GeoTrax for about 2 years now, the track pieces will come whether you want them to or not! The newer pieces have GeoMotion and it's really cool! My 4 year old kept telling my 9 year old to stop playing with his trains so ds9 says he's going to buy his own, lol. The newer moving trains also have their own sounds and lights, so you don't need the station house for the sounds any more. My son LOVES them. He got a bunch of pieces for Christmas this year. It's amazing how this stuff accumulates! I remember when we went to the 50 gallon bin, and now that's not nearly big enough! Luckily, it's his favorite thing so we can get away without too many other miscellaneous toys laying around. I'm thinking that when we take the tree down I want to set up a whole GeoTrax city just to take a picture of it. I'm not sure if it will even fit in our living room, lol.
  17. When I drove by our local UPS hub last Tuesday on my way to a doctor appointment, there were LOTS of Penske trucks backed in there. I remember noting that about 1/2 the trucks were rentals. Our same UPS man has been delivering our stuff in his same UPS truck, but apparently they've had to put a lot of extra people and/or vehicles on for the season.

    fee for a gift card

Connecticut actually has one of the strongest gift card laws in the country. There are no expirations on any gift cards sold here and also no inactivity fees. http://www.giftcardlaw.com/

    fee for a gift card

Wow! Would you mind me asking which mall so that I can avoid it? I usually go to the ones that are Westfield malls, but I honestly didn't even realize there was a cost for the gift cards! I thought it was just to help business within the malls. My mil bought us Visa gift cards at AAA according to my hubby. I know that I had considered one for my mom because I couldn't get movie passes for her local theater online, but the fees were so outrageous that I sent her a bathrobe with free shipping instead. :) I wonder if AAA charges as much as buying them from the banks directly. I wouldn't doubt it, since mil often pays way too much for things. (I'm not complaining on that...she buys stuff she doesn't need, like electronics, and then we can go shopping at her house, lol.)
  20. I got a jar candle and 16 votives for $22.62 including tax and shipping. Excellent! Thank you!
  21. I haven't opened the ones I bought yet (one mailed directly to my mom and one still in package here), but I bought them a size larger and was concerned that they would be too big. I guess it will be safe to say that I made a good choice. Thanks for the sizing info. :)
  22. My son is a little bugger. He liked using my computer so about two years ago I bought him his own. It's a pretty nice desktop. The thing only has about 20 hours on it, if that! He played a few games and his typing tutor game for a little bit, but His Highness wants a laptop. I ordered myself a new laptop and this one has an issue that the company has offered to repair at no cost, so I'm going to give him this one and then take his desktop for my kitchen computer since the one in there kicked the can a couple of months ago and I really enjoy having one in there. I really wish he would use the computer more. They start in kindergarten at school using the computer and he really needs to learn to type, which is basically a 3rd grade learning skill. (I should say, it is best to begin serious learning for the average child in 3rd grade according to my aunt who is a special ed teacher.) My son has dysgraphia, a writing disability, and if he would only use his computer more I think his life would be much easier. Then again, this is the kid that I have to coerce to play video games. He'd much rather build something out of junk, lol. He'd be happier with a box of paperclips, a bag of rubber bands, and a box of tongue depressors, lol. I think that's wonderful, but he has to be able to do some schoolwork!!!
  23. My order from the 10th, which was cancelled for some unknown reason and redone on the 12th, arrived yesterday. It was about the slowest shipping of anything I ordered in the past month.
  24. Just an FYI for those who got the higher price... Try again in a little while. I did it this morning (the same way I did it last night when I ordered) and got the $3.98 price. I went back in again now and when I added another one to my cart, the new one as well as this morning's showed up as .99. I ended up leaving one in my cart and sent it to my niece. Kids love to get mail, so for a buck I sent it to her. :) I was going to add some of those blue pens for $2.90 that I ordered a couple of weeks ago, but those were still showing out of stock.
  25. Good thing we got in on this last night. I went to show them to hubby this morning and they're showing up as $3.98 for the 5 pack now. Thanks again, OP!
