  1. So am I, which is why I am so eagerly awaiting the BB ad. I am really hoping for one to be there. So much that I will probly pass rather than get an Acer. Just my druthers. Unfortunately, it seems Acer is the one who provided the pared down version this year because at first glance the OD and rumored OM might have been very similar (As in their initials might be the exact same:g_whistle.)
  2. Gulfport, Mississippi unless I can't resist the sales at the new Target we have in D'Iberville. Which also has a new BB in the same complex. Don't really want to have to go there because it only opened a month ago so it should be pretty frantic. So... Come on BB!! Show me the deals!!! I want to continue the tradition of being first in line at my usual store where I know everyone and the manager and my dutch cousins in line already.
  3. amyers12345: Yup. Kept waiting for something cool after the first one last year and never even got a tickle.
  4. Somebody please tell me why I cannot get it to come up on my screen. Also it was not in my local flyer. How can something like that be regional?
  5. I really wish you would have been on here Friday. Then you might have been a happier person today. Walmart had one yesterday. But hopefully there will be another one...Just keep watching this site. If it's out there, it'll be posted here. Good Luck.
  6. My Husband did get the 52" sharp. We were talking when I got home last nite and he said the guy in front of him was there for the laptop and the 42", he didn't even know about the 52. So when they brought the two out he grabbed the other one. They didn't really have a good system. People were standing around loosely all claiming to be first in line. He said there was a judge threatening everyone AND telling his wife to shut up. I miss all the fun. Cool part...Now he's in the Black Friday Spirit and is pulling out the Christmas lights. Yippee!!!
  7. DH is in line at Walmart, I had to go in to work OT (yeah! more BF $) so made him go. He was going to leave at eight I sent him out at 7. He is 3rd in line, says there are a lot of other people behind him now. They won't sell anything till 0800 even though it is a 24H store. And there are only 2 of the 52". He's sweating it but we should be okay, they are probly there for the computer. Of course if I was there I would know what they were there for by now, but he's not as talkative as me. And then again, if I hadn't had to go into work, I'd have been first in line...
  8. No bloodshed...but ironic. Last year we got a new BB. Up until then it had been occupying an old grocery store and was called a warehouse or something. But it was great because it had an overhang and was mostly protected from the wind. The new BB is just like all the BB's everywhere. Sheer face and concrete everywhere. So of course for the first time in our three year BB life it is predicted to rain. We bought a EZ up. with sides. to protect us from the wind and rain. Yes it's warmer here than up north but I've got thin blood, okay? Unfortunately I wasn't thinking about all the lovely colors available in EZups now. I got the standard blue one. And I was the first in line. Ever notice the pretty blue of BB? Matches the EZup perfectly. I had to fend off people all day Thursday looking for freebies and flyers from BB thinking it was the hospitality tent. Finally had DH bring me something to post a sign.
  9. From what I recall, it was a weekly thing last year but the first one was the best for the computers etc. I was able to get the laptop for my daughter because a friend's DH was there and called her while we were working and asked if he could get one. I hadn't been on the site so I didn't know:eyepoppin Still on the fence about the 52" sharp. Went to look at it last night. If it's the one on display...it is very nice. Wish I was spending a grand toward siver status at BB though.
  10. I was really thinking about getting this Xbox just because of the new Natal coming out next year, but I consulted with the experts-our last full-time resident teenager and her friends-and was informed we would be better off getting a better one with more storage, etc. Guess I will wait till I absolutely must aquire one or be driven insane by the pleading. The wii keeps them entertained enough for now when the rest are home weekends from college. So now I am staring at the 52" Sharp deal. That wasn't on the front page, but it's in the press release. TV and Blue ray are our big plans this year. And so DH and I will be traipsing along to BB and WM this evening. First BB to decide how big a TV we are getting (46" or 50-52") and seeing if we can hook our Bose 321 speakers into a new Blueray (the DVD player keeps shutting down so it's time for it to bow out); then to see the Sharp's in person. hmmm...
  11. I am pro what was said. I have resold stuff, but usually the parts of combos I didn't want for a minimal amount to friends and family members. I am also the one with the big old shopping list for all the friends and family who cannot come out with us. I love it. More reward points for me. Is that wrong as well? Especially when some of those same friends and family members are sitting at other stores buying things for me that I would otherwise be unable to obtain? The ultimate answer to this is--get there first, you get whatever you want. For every person who gets there before you, your chance of success decreases. Worry about yourself first, everyone else not at all unless they are about to serve physical harm upon you. Then shoot 'em first.

  13. I certainly do not feel any bad thoughts about you for what you posted. You tried and then told us what you knew to be true. That is called sharing information and it is something that makes our country and this site better. And just because you got bum info this time doesn't mean I will discount your info next time. It happens to all of us at one time or another. unfortunately yours was more public and that sucks. I feel mad for you, not at you. Also, more importantly, They have always had the surprise deals. We expected them. We wanted them. We decided that they would have them. Human nature. It was so it must be. Happy Holidays! Need us to start saving to bail you out next year?
  14. I stayed at BB and the rain held off! And we got there thursday morning and were first. The guy who was first last year and second after me the year before got there around 10. We know the manager from doing this and better yet, he knows us and that he can trust us to keep the peace. At least in front. Seriously-if you are going to do this regularly get at least a nodding acquaintance with the manager. It pays off. Went for a RR break about 230 and drove by the local CC. There were about 150 people in line at BB. there were 7 at CC. That scared me. I know they are going through Bancruptcy but it really was a low show day for even BB. they had to have had at least 500 people in line last year when it opened, and this is a smaller area. ditto cc's showing. I've talked with friends who were at stores throughout the morning (I was passed out at home by 730, would have been earlier but had to wait for OM to open so I could get the Dragon software,) that the stores did stay steady busy so that is some small relief. It seems the economy and uncertain job future is seriousy impacting the shopping this year. I pray this won't get as bad as forcasted but am loosing hope. Thank God for this place that stretches how far my dollars will go. We need all the help we can get.
  15. Yeah, Brad, I love that you have built the best Black Friday site! I guess it was inevitable, with you have the best original deal site. Everyone who helped us wade through the flak, THANK YOU!!!! The mods have been great. I always look forward to BigJim, StationChief, and Taz sharing their knowledge. Thank you to all the mods I don't know the name of straightaway. It has been a wonderful 4 years with you and looking forward to many more.
  16. Unfortunately not. But they had a zillion of the advertised ones at my BB so most everyone got what they came for.
  17. Well, Taz I so hope you are right and you get back to the front of the line. we are in line, just home for a break and number 2 just showed up. We seem to trade 1st every other year:cheesy: Still Hoping, but back up plan is to get the HP for 599 and return the accessories tomorrow. Didn't you say you were able to do that last year with the Toshiba? Yeah!! Rain pushed back to 8pm from yesterday's forcast of 2pm!!! Happy thanksgiving!!
  18. he really was truthfull. I was in the cubby where all the ticketed items are stored and that is what is there.
  19. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but what we see is what we get. I was talking to the manager of our local doing recon and meet and greet and got the skinny. There is no netbook, 299 lappy or 199 desktop. The $350 HP is $350. The mix up with $279 was a big technical goof that probably got someone fired. It read '$279 in savings' so the absent minded data entry geek put $279 as the sale price instead of $350. Good news? I saw stacks and stacks of the doorbuster computers. Happy Hunting!
  20. I did my recon at BB tonight since I have to work tomorrow. I found a HP Netbook that appeared close enough to the specs thrown up already to make me drool. I am probly going to get this instead of the 14" if it is indeed $150. Or even $200. I already have a laptop so this would be more portable. The thing will fit in my purse. And it wasn't on display and it was priced today at $450. It has a 10" screen, 1gig DDR2, 16G SSD, XP, Intel Atom and a webcam. perfect for when I am out. I have a lot of e-books I can save to it and will actually be able to do more than read. Kindle Watch out. I knew I didn't invest in one of those for a reason.
