  1. We wrap our kids gifts and santa doesn't. Our kids get 3 or 4 from us and 1 or 2 large ones from Santa.
  2. Both of my kids have GBAs they were 5 and 4 when they got them. They love them and try to play them all the time. I only let them play for an hour after their homework is done and its dark outside. DS1 lost his last month though.
  3. Wow 5am. I didn't know that. Looks like I need to be there at 3. I get off work at 1 so maybe I will just go straight there.
  4. I have worked at KB Toys and Radio Shack on BF. I work 6 of them at Radio Shack so I defently can relate, if only a little, to the OP. That said its all about the employee attitude. If you put on a smile you will receive one in return. Yes you will get the jerk screaming that they were "in line for 3 hours and you don't have the one item I was looking for" but everyone has bad days. You politely tell the costumer you are sorry and try to help them with something. Most of the time they just need to vent but end up walking away with a smile and some other "junk." As for the "junk." I have not bought much on BF for my kids that I thought would last. If WM paid $6 and is charging $20 during earlybird hours I will go get it and expect a $20 machine. I know its junk but at least I am not paying $30 for it like I would if I had waited 4 hours. I bought a "junk" trampoline from Walmart 2 years ago and my kids still jump in it everyday. I paid almost $300 for it. The price went up $100 after early bird hours. So I saved money and got something my kids loved. Do you really think all the people that shop BF are jerks? Maybe they are just feeding off the attitude you have. Be a jerk to me and I will be one to you, be nice to me and I will return the favor. I think you just need to change your attitude and have some coffee.
  5. I would add a personal shopper to fight the crowds while I sit in the car.
  6. mikis123, You totally rock!!! Thanx for the link.
  7. Some of the items for BF have a different SKU and some are only available on BF (like the TV/DVD combo's). If you put something on Lay-away now you have to pick it up during the sale to get that price. For exapmle: if you put the Care Bear w/ DVD on lay-away you have to pick it up during early-bird hours to get that price. The Lay-away line is super long also. 2 years ago my mom got in line when the store opened, I shopped and brought her the stuff, and it still took over 3 hours to get checked out. Poor Mom stayed in line while I went to other stores to finish shopping. The items are wherever the fit. We found a trampoline pile in mens clothing last time I BF at Walmart.
  8. This bugs me. Me and my mom got to walmart at 3am and were 8th in line. When the doors were opened lots of people tried to bum-rush the doors but those of us standing in line crowded around and didn't let them in.
  9. Never happened to me but this is only my 3rd BF.
  10. I write a list in order by store and isle. I usually start in the toys but I want the camera and MP3 player at Walmart.
  11. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!!!
  12. I've been once. It was a mad house. I swore off going since.
  13. I braved the mall last year and the starbucks in the parking lot didn't even open until 6. By then KB was opening. Lots of complaints from the people standing in line.
  14. Done by noon. I work nights and will only get about 3 hours sleep before heading to the stores.
  15. I will get a few for birthdays next year.
  16. Tennis shoes, jeans with sweats over them, long sleeve shirt with a short sleeve shirt on top, jacket. I always chat with the people around me, they hold my spot while I go to the car and remove the sweats and jacket.I never carry a purse on BF. They are too easy to drop and I need my hands for stuff. Instead I put my card and ID in my pocket and leave the cash at the bank.
  17. I have only been twice... First time was with my Mom. Second was solo. This year I take a newbee that has always wanted to go BF shopping but never had anyone to go with.
  18. My worst experiance was in '94. I worked at KB and watched about 6 people fighting over the last "Tickle Me Elmo." It was insane. I liked watching people fighting over shopping carts in '03 at Walmart.
