  1. chiming in to say that my Emachines desktop that I bought in 2002 is still plugging along. And so is DD's Emachine that I bought 3 years ago. I hope they don't do those "secret sales" again. The last time I was in Walmart for BF and they were running a secret sale - it took them 8 hours to find the merchandise!
  2. they did this last year too .. it was actually printed in their BF ad that the PM did not apply to the thanksgiving weekend sales. You just had to look for it - cause the print was really tiny.
  3. well from that one bad review - it makes good sense to get the extended warranty then!
  4. I believe so. This one doesn't spell out that the place you purchased the movies from must be in the same state that you live in.
  5. Just heard back .. it is one rebate per household. So even if you buy 2 of the movies- you can only apply for 1 rebate.
  6. I'm wondering the same thing. Even with the extended warranty - it's still a good deal. It's a bit smaller than the Target one for BF - but was wondering about the quality of the brand. Although the Westinghouse hasn't gotten great reviews either and the only reason it's so cheap is because Target won't be carrying that brand anymore.
  7. Home Depot and Lowes offer you a 10% discount if you are moving http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pg&p=/moving/Coupon_Registration.html&ln=cstln4&drd=drd7&cm_mmc=search_google-_-Lowes%20Moving-_-Moving%20Coupon-_-moving%20coupon http://www.homedepotmoving.com/moving/web/registration my one piece of advice is to measure measure measure! And you might be able to reap the benefit from those who don't measure! I know I made a huge score on my fridge because the sides were scratched (it was stainless) because it didn't fit the space in someone's home! My luck the scratched side wasn't visible for me!
  8. I know in the stores the bit about the $10 minimum purchase is in on the signs.
  9. that's what the OP was asking too.
  10. I just wish those stations that do Christmas music didn't stop on Christmas day!
  11. scored some of the 3.99 Hasbro games on Saturday at TRU .. will be going thru last year's Target after Christmas toy sale to get my stuff ready for Toys for Tots!
  12. at Walmart - no .. at other stores yes. Read some of the threads about PMing at Walmart, internet coupons, etc.
  13. DD18 works for a company who does security etc for sporting events and concerts and you would not believe how many folks they are recruiting to work lines at our local Walmarts!
  14. when I put out my navitity set - I don't put out the baby Jesus until Christmas day. And the Wise men go in another room. Christmas morning I put out baby Jesus and the wise men start making their way to the nativity set - they move a little bit each day until January 6th when they finally visit baby Jesus. My mom started that one when I was young.
  15. watch A Charlie Brown Christmas Christmas isn't about how much you spend or what gifts you put under the tree. It's about family, being together, spreading love and hope for a better world. I've been there before and will never forget how I had to tell my 2 kids (then 11 and 8) that Santa wouldn't be coming to our house this year with big gifts as he helped mommy pay for the new fridge. They made it through relatively unscathed! Nothing says love more than a homemade gift. Anyone can slap a bill or swipe a card at a cash register and pick up a gift card or a gift that someone doesn't need. But a gift of your time is the best gift of all. Cookies, cakes, sweets, even those food gifts in a jar you put together make great gifts for close family and friends. And if they know you have been out of work - shouldn't they know not to expect much from you anyway? Throw on some Christmas music and decorate your house! Bring out the nativity set and remember why we celebrate Christmas. I am trying to bring myself out of my pre-holiday funk as well. But I am working on it!
  16. too bad he's not planning on pickup up one of the old timey aluminum ones with the colored light spinner. that'd be kewl!
  17. with the small digital tvs - you can pick up all your local channels really clearly - no cable needed if you just want the local channels.
  18. DD18 works for a staffing service that mostly does concerts and sporting events. They sent the schedule out for the rest of the month and you would NOT believe how many Walmarts they have contracted for to have line patrol there!
  19. I emailed them to find out how many movies you can do the rebate on - so far I've purchased 2 of the 4. It looks like you can only get ONE rebate. Will post when they reply to my email. FYI - there are other rebates out there for Up! and Snow White too.
  20. I don't think this is an age specific issue. I have seen folks all ages line jump.
  21. I'd see about getting them Disney gift cards instead of the prepaid Visa .. those prepaid Visas normally have a fee of $5 to $10 to activate. http://www.disneystore.com/gift-cards/c/305800/ you can get them a card with their fav Disney character on it!
  22. at my Target there are 2 entrances because it is a Super Target - and they are pretty far apart. I'd love to see how they would pull off a ticket system since I'm sure the employees won't get there before the line starts.
  23. did you order the Disney parks planning DVD? You can wrap up that one as well!
  24. I have been wanting a LCD tv for my bedroom for about a year now. I have the money for it (saved some money that I had gotten for b-days and LAST Christmas) - but for some reason I haven't bought it yet!
