  1. Our Best Buy didn't have that problem. They of course tried to sell us upgrades etc. but they delivered on at least what the ad promised. Usually more.
  2. Thanks to Best Buy for having great sales and still keeping everything organized. Thanks to Starbucks for staying open 24 hours and even giving a friend of mine a free cup of coffee when the credit card machine was acting up.
  3. Best Buy was the best. They kept the crowd under control and really created a fun/party atmosphere to shop in complete with music and a Santa Clause, lol. I went into Target after Best Buy and their checkout lines went all the way to back of the store and they didn't have very many cashiers. They seemed unprepared entirely for the amount of people they had there.
  4. My experiences were all good including Best Buy. Get there first and there's nothing you have to worry about. I voted Wal-Mart though simply for the fact that you could tell without going in that it was CRAZY.
  5. I got to Best Buy at 9:30 PM just barely beating out the next people who showed up 5 minutes later for first in line. I ended up with: 2 of the $149 e-machines Sandisk 512 MB MP3 player 1 GB flash drive 75 DVD+R/25 CD-R
  6. So, I arrived with 5 friends at Best Buy approximately 9:30 PM and WOW...it was really freakin' cold outside. We were FIRST in line. However, not 5 minutes after we got out in line, the next group of people came. After surviving the cold/drinking 3 cups of Starbuck's White Chocolate Latte's and watching a movie on a friend's laptop, the employees started arriving. By this time, 2:30 AM, the line was a good 100+ people long. They started handing out tickets for items at a little after 3:30 AM. That's when the chaos started, people started getting out of cars and cutting straight towards the front part of the line. I had nothing to worry about as we were in the VERY front and there was no way they were going to be able to get in front of us. However, our Best Buy IMMEDIATELY took control of the situation. A manager yelled for everyone in the line to get single file against the wall and anyone not there will be taken to the back of the line. They then had employees spaced every 10 feet or so to make sure that no more cutting took place. Our Best Buy had 40 of the E-Machines and 12 of the laptops. I got a laptop ticket and e-machines ticket as well as having a friend grab an e-machines ticket for me. We then discussed strategey for getting the non-ticketed items. One of us went for the DVD+R's/CD-R's, one of us went for the DVD Recorders, another for the Computer games, one for the digital cameras, one for the computer hardware and me for the MP3 players. Everyone of us ended up getting what we came for which was definitely due to careful planning and a good strategy. Me personally, I brought home a Sandisk 512MB MP3 Player, 1GB flash drive, 75 DVD+R's/25CD-R's, and 2 of the $150 e-Machines all of which will be on EBay by the end of the day. And I ended up "being nice" and giving my laptop ticket away as opposed to selling it. So, that's my story, despite the freezing weather I endured for 8 hours, I hope to profit between $350-$450 dollars.
  7. Well...here we go, time for me to get in line at good ol' Best Buy. Good luck to all of you getting what you want and I hope for your sakes you aren't coming to the Best Buy I am. If you are...tell me you're from Gottadeal.com and I'll sell you a ticket at a discount price
  8. If there's a Burger King around, I recommend going there for breakfast, it's awesome. Sam's Club has free continental breakfast starting at 5 AM...
  9. Yeah, I had people all over me a while back for saying I was gonna do that. It's a good idea...first come first served, that's how it works. You guys get in line, you can do whatever you want with the tickets. Props to you.
  10. I couldn't quite understand what he was saying but I think I do now. You guys are gonna sell the laptop tickets for 50 each? That's cool, that's what me and friends of mine are doing too except we are gonna take EVERY ticket they offer, not just the laptop...
  11. It's not wrong unless other people get there first and then he lets them cut in line. If they get in line....tough, other people should be there waiting
  12. I am not sleeping. Matter of fact, I'll be in line at Best Buy in less than 2 and a half hours, I'm starting to get ready now
  13. My guess would be they late you wait inside but that differs according to each mall
  14. Yeah....it went down right after people were able to buy those Toshiba laptops
  15. 3 hours and I'll be in line
  16. It's listed in the ad as "instant savings" i.e. no rebates
  17. What would you guess the approximate age of them are? It's been my experience that the "truly hardcore" BF shoppers tend to be younger and more willing to endure the cold/discomfort to save/make money. Just curious
  18. Yeah, weather here is going to play a huge part I think. Wind gusts up to 40 MPH today and our Wal-Mart building will not protect the line from the wind. Best Buy however, will prove to be a windbreaker and I'm very grateful for that.
  19. Wal-Mart is almost impossible to predict here....I think that'd be right on the borderline in Central Indiana locations...
  20. I waited in line for XBox 360 at Target and the employees that had to work in the morning were NOT allowed to buy one. There were Target employees waiting in line however. There were 2 guys that closed at Target til 11:45 changed clothes and then stood in line til opening.
  21. Pretty similar to mine. Be at Best Buy at 9:30PM with 5 friends Get my stuff there Go to the mall with Target/EB/Sam Goody Possibly stop at Sam's Club and get free food Go to Meijer Go to Wal-Mart Go home and SLEEEEEEEP
  22. Questions like that always depend on where you live. I'm leaving with 5 other people for the E-Machines and other stuff and we're getting there at 9:30. If you live where I do...getting in line at 1:45 AM may be to late because the odds are, with 6 people standing in line at 9:30 PM, that'll make other people start getting in line. Like I said, it all depends on where you live but if I were you, I wouldn't risk it...I'd be there no later than midnight
  23. I recommend EBay if you want an Ipod.
