  1. The Benq from this thread is still only $41.95 shipped from NewEgg as well. It has been a great burner for me so far... I've put a few different media through it... no coasters yet. I'm also having a lot of fun with the LightScribe feature.
  2. That link seems to be blocked here... Can you tell me if those are Lightscribe v. 1.2 or not?
  3. A quick phone call and they credited the difference. Good support from the Egg.
  4. Bump for price drop on the 320GB. I need to see if I can cancel mine and re-order.
  5. It has been just fine for me. That means that the GD server is just fine and running normally. As SWTerry said, routing problems can affect people differently. Basically, liken it to the freeway on your way to work being under construction, and you have to take an alternate route. You more than double your normal commute. You won't notice it with other sites that don't take that same route.
  6. I got one of the 320GB drives for my personal system. I'm going to hold off on the rest... They haven't been added to the Infrant compatability list yet. I will order them soon enough though... :)
  7. Just what I meant. It supports non-raid which would just show up as 4 different disks, or JBOD which is technically "RAID," but you wouldn't catch a true geek calling it that. It is missing the redundancy that is inherent to most raid setups. RAID = Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks JBOD = Just a Bunch Of Drives It is normally spanning so that the 4 disks would show up as a single volume. RAID in the sense that it is normally discussed is a system of linking drives together in a different sense. For Example: RAID 0 is striping two disks together to act as one. Both disks can be written to and accessed at the same time, so there is a considerable speed boost. However, there is a greater risk for data loss. If you loose one drive, all your data is gone. RAID 1 is also refered to as mirroring. Two drives act as a single volume, but the exact same data is written to both of them in case one fails. That way, you never loose data. You will loose half your disk space when using this method. RAID 5 is an alternate to those two. It has parity of all the data, but requires at least 3 drives. A portion of each drive is then used to back up a part of other drives. In this way, any single disc can fail and you won't loose any data. You will normally loose the space of one drive to parity. So, if you have 3 250GB drives, you would have 500GB of useable space. If you had 4 250GB drives, you would have 750GB of useable space.
  8. I was going to say that. And it isn't actually raid at all. It is really just a JBOD setup it seems. I don't see anything about any fault protection. This is the unit that I'm looking at for the NAS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822329006
  9. Yeah... I'm thinking of getting 5 of them! 1 for my system and another 4 for a NAS.
  10. Ok, you know if I'm posting it is a good one. Newegg has a couple of the new Seagate 7200.10 (new perpendicular recording) on sale. Update: Price Drop on the 320GB today! Seagate 250 GB 7200.10 only 79.99 Shipped! Seagate 320 GB 7200.10 only 94.99 Shipped! The new perpendicular recording technology makes these "the" fastest 7200 RPM drives on the market. With a 5 year warranty standard on Seagate drives, now is the time to snatch one of these up!
  11. There are soooo many variables that can cause this. It is something that you just have to live with some times on the net.
  12. I don't think so... not right away. I think that Dell was probably loosing money because they are giving so much away with the 1505s2 right now.
  13. I'm not that familiar with the pillow, but you can try a PriceGrabber search: Here is a Quick one
  14. Go for it... The flashing procedure is a little more difficult than the linksys routers since you have to do the first one from the command line. After that though, it is a breeze.
  15. Dell disabled the use of that coupon with the model ending in e1505s2 shortly after the deal started. I actually had one in my cart with the coupon working. I called my wife and thought about it over lunch... when I came back, it was disabled. Other models may have the coupon automatically subtracted. Which one are you looking at?
  16. Hey now GottaDeal.... I think you stole this from me.... :) That being said, this is a GREAT router. It can be flashed with the DD-WRT firmware for sure. I'm using it, and have no issues. This router is rock solid with great range. Also, if you need an easy way to set up a WDS network, this router with the factory firmware is great. There is actually a switch that you can turn on to instantly make a WDS network. All you need is two of these. Here is a link to the Buffalo page for more info GottaGeek approved!
  17. Once again, I'm feeling regret... The wife drug her feet last night and couldn't make up her mind. I should have just gotten it for her. Maybe, if I'm lucky, this one will come around one more time...
  18. I'm som tempted by this for my wife.. I'm wondering if I should update the display as well... How nice is the standard one?
  19. Yeah... that one is tempting even though I already have the 680.
  20. I grabbed one today for my area... great deal.
  21. I'm hoping another 1505 comes out on their 10 days of deals... I missed it the first time around...
  22. Congrats! Glad it all worked out for you. You may want to take some time to secure that wireless internet connection so that others can't access it. http://www.practicallynetworked.com/support/wireless_secure.htm Enjoy your new network, the possibilities are endless. :)
  23. A good deal for not having to deal with any rebates.
  24. You and me both... Of course... you know that HD DVD and BlueRay portable players will be right around the corner to jack those prices back up again. :)
  25. 3 hours seems to be the norm. That is ok I guess... time for one movie really. I once saw a panasonic that boasted 10 hrs of playback time (probably 3 movies) that would be nice. It was expensive though. This is a good deal. They just keep getting cheaper.
