Welcome to the forums. Although I grew up around sewing machines (my Mom is a seamstress), I don't really know enough to reccomend one. Here is what I would do if I were you. There are tons of different machines for different functions. Go to a couple of your local fabric stores and machine dealers and talk to some people there. I wouldn't limit it to the employees, I'm sure that others would be happy to share experiences. When you have an idea of what you want, you may be able to find a good deal by posting it over in the Deal Finder Service forum.

HURRY!! SEARS...Pricing Mistake - Xbox 360 Hard Drive for $14.99
Scott replied to Gunnershorthair's topic in Online Hot Deals
This definately sounds like a YMMV deal. Please don't get upset if you don't get in. Don't be a WMC like me... :) -
Glad to see her back as well. I do find the avatar somewhat disturbing though...

Can someone please clear up some acronyms for me

Don't forget to add WMC to the list. -
My wife loves this series. It was stolen by the movers when we moved this last time. I replaced it, and the claim will only give us the "used" price for it. I think around $50 is the best that I've ever found for it.

But does that hole that the connector retreats to close? I just don't want stuff getting stuck in there. I have that problem with my current ones with no caps. I have a couple of the ultra small PQI ones, but lost the cap to the holder. The other one is an older sandisk 256MB. Replacing the caps on these doesn't really matter as I will just pass them on to family members that can use them.

That is a good deal. But as I already have several 512MB drives with missing caps...

That one is definately interesting. Does the drive come out of the leather case? With the case it may be too wide for my application. Here are a few that I have been looking at: http://gottadeal.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=19408656/search=PNY+flash+drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820183013 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820219024 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820191131 Although most of those are 1 GB, I think I'm really leaning towards 2GB if I can find a deal.

Ok... It seems like deals on USB flash drives are always poping up on the front page. I want to get a new one 1-2GB, but have hesitated on pulling the trigger just yet. Why you ask? I currently have about 3 thumb drives that I use, and NONE of them have the cap any more. I'm tired of loosing the stupid things. I'm looking for the best deal that I can find on one that has an integrated cap. I also don't want one where the USB plug is a mechanism that can be moved in and out. There is a lot of lint in my pockets, and I know that will just end up in the USB plug. If anyone can find a good deal on one, post it here.

How much do you want to spend? It was asked earlier. MP3 players can run anywhere from $30 to $400 so it is quite the range. I believe that iPods start at around $150. Unless you want to get the shuffle which I do not reccomend.

Wireless G is backward compatible with wireless B. Backwards compatibility is required by the standard. G is considerably faster for an internal network. However, even the B standard is plenty fast enough for your DSL. What type of computer is connecting to the router you have now? Are there other computers on your network that you need to transfer files to? Do you have good coverage and single strength with your current router? Is your current router new enought that you can return it? Answer those questions, and I will be able to give some more sound advice.

My guess is that Apple will have to do something to combat the "Zune" media blitz. We will have to see how hard Microsoft pushes it.

I still check that site daily.... !!! I'm just looking for a feature for those that don't. :)
-
I would think you could even replace the mostly unused feature with this one. A simple form in the place of those drop downs.
-
I think the big difference is that you have to "visit" to take advantage of that feature. And really, you have to visit often to want to take advantage. I personally don't use it, because it isn't that difficult for me to use the search feature instead. With the email notifications, you may bring back some people who visited and then took a break. You could even possibly check the requests and see if you could find matching deals. Kind of a giving the customer what they want approach. I'm not sure if this is completely feasible though.

I think this was discussed quite some time ago, but not exactly in this format. I think it would be great to have a feature where a user could get email alerts when a new deal was posted by keywords. In order to reduce the strain on the server, the following rules could be in place. -Words must be longer than a certain length, or must have more than one word. -All words must be present to receive the notification -Users limited in how many notifications they could have active -Notification could be set as 1 time event or recurring. -Possibly disabled during BF activities Just a thought. I think this would be a very helpful feature, and may pull people back to the site when they receive a notification. Thoughts? Is something like this feasible?

My ReadyNAS came today. This thing is tiny. It is a far cry from the huge server that I'm running now.
