  1. Oh no! I sent 9 out. Sorry about that. I can resend one, but I don't think it will be there by Christmas. Did anyone else not receive one?
  2. There was a good win last year...I think it was $55. I was hoping someone else would get lucky this year.
  3. Hmmmm....none of the Christmas card people said anything about their lottery ticket. Are they all losers this year?!?!
  4. Maybe she didn't like her gift and doesn't want to say so.... =80
  5. Hmmm. If you've only made the dip and liked it enough to recommend it....now I am torn...dip sound good.....but seasoned oyster crackers sound really good too. OH I CAN'T DECIDE!!!!!! ARRRRRGH!
  6. What an obedient dog! My cats thought they were cat treats and wanted me to open them when I was wrapping them. Handsome dog too. What breed is he? Thanks for the pictures
  7. Got two more cards today! I think they have all arrived now. Thank you everyone! Mom's wall is looking good with all those cards! She loves them all and comments on them daily.
  8. LOL. Be glad it was mom that pulled your name...I am nothing but a big cheapskate! Mom, on the other hand, has sundowner's and mild dementia....so she doesn't know what she is doing! Glad you like everything. I never made peanut clusters before. The recipe said it makes 30. I only got 15. Something must be wrong with the recipe....... 8O How about a picture of Lcarus and his dog treats. The cats want to see him. >^,,^< Thank you again for all you do on our behalf! It's not always easy being Chief Elf!
  9. Here are the pictures of Mom's secret Santa gifts. Mom has been wearing her pin on her coat. The candy is long gone and she has 1 box of coffee cakes left....only because I hid the box.
  10. Well....I broke down. LOL (First time ever!) I somehow managed to get my paper done on Monday and finished my group work on online college course I took this fall. And I got the word last night I was officially done and had passed. So I decided to I deserved to celebrate and the only thing I could think of was to open my box! Oh Boy Oh Boy!! Thank you Secret Santa! (MsYves!) You went over and above! I received the DVD Mulan, And a Disney Christmas T-Shirt -- Which I can now wear! YAY!. and some Reece's Peanut butter cups. And a local Fredricksburg Farms roasted garlic and chive dip mix -- which I am very excited about. (I can't decide whether to make it as a dip or to make the seasoned crackers with it. I am leaning towards making seasoned oyster crackers with it --- unless you recommend otherwise!) I will post pictures later...I took them with my tablet and it will be easier to post them online with the tablet later. Thank you, thank you! I love EVERYTHING!!!
  11. Yay, the delivery truck just pulled up and now I can wrap and send out my secret santa box! Patience is a virtue everyone!
  12. Ohhh geee Bopeep - NOW you tell me! I coulda just sent you a bunch of old movies instead. Thanks for the prayers! They are always appreciated. Mailman just came. Got one more card and a box from *my* secret santa today. Yay! Thank you thank you! I am going to wait to open my box. (Sorry, I know everyone is anxious. I always hope my recipient will open theirs right away too. ;D) but I am one of those for whom this will be the only gift I get to open. Thank you in advance. I am sure I will love it!
  13. Sorry I haven't been around much. Mom has a new compression fracture in in her lower back. We spent all day Thanksgiving in the ER. She finally got a bed at 10pm that night. The hospital released her Friday night at 9 pm. So in addition to trying to get her settled in a facility, poor mom is in a lot of pain, and will be for a few weeks. There is very little they can give her for pain. Mom did not feel like opening anything on Saturday BUT..she was up to it on Sunday. She opened her birthday gifts and cards and then she tackled her Gotta deal goodies. We have receive 4 cards already, and Mom loves them all. She especially likes knowing which state they come from. We have them hanging up on the wall. Then she opened her secret santa gifts. Thank you very much Secret Santa! You were very generous and everything was very well received. (I took a couple pictures with my tablet, but will have to transfer them to the computer later to post them. Mom received a beautiful pin and a blistix, and a dvd (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers), and THREE boxes of coffee cakes!! Mom was so happy that as soon as she opened the first one, she handed me the box and said "Open this! I want one NOW" and then she promptly ate 2. ;D And some Werther's hard candies....she ate that whole bag last night. AND she received a pretty Christmas card with a very touching note inside. Thank you so much Secret Santa! You hit the movie genre on the head. Mom loves musicals - both stage plays and movies. When I asked her what her favorites are (as you asked) she said "Music Man" and "Hello Dolly" and then "I just love them all!!" She also loves Fred Astre, Gene Kelly, and Ginger Rogers -- all those films with the song and dance routines. Thanks again! Our cards just went out. 1 of 2 boxes sent. (Still waiting for a black friday purchase to arrive here so I can ship it out.)
  14. Sorry, Been spending a lot of time at mom's new placement. Trying to help her adjust. She is starting to receive cards (yay) and a box arrived with her name. Mom's birthday is Saturday so I will give them to her then. It will be a good way to launch the holiday season. Thank you all!
  15. LOL! I started shopping BEFORE I got my and mom's names! Some stuff is just too good to pass up. And sure enough one person listed that item on their list. Still got a ways to go yet though.
  16. Well.... not to let Ohio outdo us... WNIC 100.3 is switching to Christmas music next Friday, November 5th!
  17. Mom and I are in! I didn't even have to beg Bopeep to start early this year! LOL! Thanks Bopeep for coordinating all of us again this year!! I am happy to be an elf again this year if you need one.
  18. OOooo! What great candles! Are you going to use them for Hanukkah? I'll come over. We can sing and sing and sing.....(We Lutherans love to sing. It never lasts long enough. )...and sing and sing..... hey Gator... are you ever going to join the secret santa exchange?? I keep hoping that I'll draw your name.
  19. Sooooo, what's the good word from the doc?
  20. Before I say anything, I have to give my spiel about I am not a medical professional and anything I say should not be taken as medical advice. I am glad that you are going to discuss this with you doctor, please follow their advice as they know your case. Having said that....take a deep breath and relax. Almost all of us, especially in a northern climate, are all low on vitamin D. You can take a supplement, but you must be careful and do it under a doctor's care because too much vitamin D can cause nasty problems like kidney stones. (And I have seen people come into the ER with vitamin D kidney stones and they were under a doctor's care....so be careful, everyone's body is different. Doctors can be taken off guard about what dose you need.) The best way to get vitamin D is sunshine. Go out and take a walk or work in the garden or just sit in a sunny spot. 10 - 15 minutes a day a couple of times a week will do the trick. Some foods like salmon and tuna are also good sources of vitamin D. Good luck!
  21. Feel free to send some of it up here to Michigan. We're already in a mild drought. (and I haven't even begun to plant yet!)
  22. Yeah...what a shame. Been telling my mother for two weeks now that it is not good that the trees are budding 2-3 weeks early, we could loose our fruit crops. But she is just so happy to see everything alive again.... Good luck with your peaches....hopefully some will make it.
  23. Conversation with mom that took place 15 minutes ago. Mom complaning: There's nothing on tv to watch! I can't find anything interesting! Me: I know. It's Sunday. There is nothing you like on on Sunday. How about I put in a video? Mom: YEAH! Me: How about Easter Parade? Mom: No, I want to watch White Christmas!
  24. Not being Jewish (I am a Lutheran pastor) I don't know that it is appropriate to say anything with any authority to your situation....but I am (as all preacher's are) willing to give my two cents/shekals worth.
  25. Congrats! I didn't know how popular Animal Crossing was until I bought a copy for the game console on our pediatrics unit at my hospital. Man that thing was stolen faster than the Mario games! Enjoy the games! They were hard won!
