  1. Santa came early, the Cleveland Browns finally get a win!
  2. Done, done and done! Now I can put my feet up and read a book or watch football until guests show up at 5. Good luck everyone!!!
  3. Does anyone know if Marshalls/TJMaxx do post Christmas sales? I was interested in some of their holiday decor and didn't know what to expect from them as I've never gone there immediately after Christmas. Thanks in advance for any input!
  4. I thought I was done with all of the above but it turns out I need to pick up one more gift card and one more stocking stuffer as well as make one more batch of cookies. My wrapping is done which is unusually early for me but I have this feeling that my father in law is going to rope me into doing his [emoji30]
  5. Thank you to my secret Santa for all the wonderful gifts. You are an incredibly generous and thoughtful person whoever you are. PS the picture doesn't do the yarn justice, it's so beautiful in person
  6. My SS package arrived today! I think I'm going to try to spread out the goodies so I have something to look forward to the next few days as work has been crazy. My dog insisted he get the one for him first and he is delighted with your choice SS [emoji3]
  7. SS has been shipped and tracking info sent! I had hoped to get it out earlier in the week but I'm terrible at wrapping and it slowed me down more than I expected [emoji12]
  8. My tree has been up for almost 2 weeks now but I only just got it decorated! It's my own fault though, I told myself that I wasn't allowed to decorate it until I got all my other holiday cleaning done.
  9. Kept the tradition alive and had a great BF with my dad. I headed out early Friday morning around 4:45 and met up with my dad at Kohls. There was a decent amount of shoppers but when we went to check out there was NO line. I have never walked right up to a register at Kohl's before [emoji15] My dad got a few flannel shirts and I spent $4.41 on flannel pj pants for DH. Then it was off to JCPenney, which was much busier. My dad got socks and pajamas with his $10 off $10 coupon and I got two bed pillows with my two coupons (one in the mailed and one in store) that brought them down to $3.23. The lines were very reasonable, only 5 deep or so. We walked across the parking lot to Target. We didn't have anything we were looking for in particular but it's not BF without a trip to Target. I picked up the last blu ray of Finding Dory on a whim but ended up giving it to a mom 5 minutes later when I saw her desperately scouring the displays. Karma paid me back for that by letting me stumble on the last Qwirkle game in the store, which for $10.25 after tax was my one and only impulse purchase of the day. We went to Joanns next and we had fun watching the crowds there but walked out empty handed. Then it was next door to Petsmart which was a lot of fun people watching (we got there 20 minutes after the doors opened). The line went all the way to the back of the store and my dad was amazed at all the pails of kitty litter people were pushing in front of them on the floor. While there my dad managed to get 5 in a row and won our BF bingo game. Next was Lowes where my dad got some tool accessory and then observed the huge display of $0.99 poinsettias. He brilliantly suggested those might be good for my coworker gifts so I grabbed 16 of them and for a total of $17.11 I got everyone at work crossed off my list! On our way to Michael's we call my mom and DH to tell them to meet us at the diner at 9:30 for breakfast. That gave us just enough time for my dad to grab some photo boxes and me one skein of yarn for $2.44 before meeting everyone to eat. I walked away having spent a mere $36.26 on my purchases which made my bank happy and great memories that made me and my dad happy. My dad won the BF bingo game I organized so breakfast was on me, but it was totally worth it. We had a great time and my dad has already made two suggestions for the bingo board for next year [emoji3]
  10. My SIL is a big BF shopper and insists that we get her our lists at least a week in advance. Normally she returns the favor, but this year she sent her family's list to my DH at 2pm on BF (and for the first time ever there were things requested other than a gift card). I was already home and in the middle of a nap by then! Thank heavens for cyber Monday deals and free shipping or I would be even more annoyed.
  11. Does anyone know if they are going to allow in store pick up as an option on the door busters? From reading the archives they did last year but it sounded like it caused some in store stock issues on the Thursday when the sale went live in stores. Just curious because I'd prefer that as I won't have enough to get the free shipping minimum.
  12. It's been snowing in upstate NY all day and we expect another 3-6 inches tomorrow. The beanie is going to get plenty of use by BF here. Thanks again!
  13. Just placed an order on a game called Dominion that I think will go over well with DH and our friends. Oh who am I kidding, I totally ordered it because I think I will like it and I am just trying to justify it
  14. I hinted to my DH that I would like the 6 piece spade drill bit set that they had for $5. What can I say, my dad raised this girl to love power tools and their accessories.
  15. I'm totally stealing the idea of gifting new pjs on Christmas Eve.
  16. Hobby lobby usually has good deals on Christmas items but they don't do nearly as much on other craft categories in my opinion. Also, I think they only do their standard one coupon for 40% off one item, if I recall correctly.
  17. Normally we do not set up our tree until after Thanksgiving but last year some of the lights on the tree were not always turning on. I think I'll ask DH to pull it out and test the lights this weekend just in case I need to pick up a new tree on BF. The tree on the front page looks like it has good replacement potential.
  18. Got my prize pack today, thanks Brad! Can't wait to wear the hat with pride on BF (and whenever else it gets cold, so pretty much from now until April)
  19. This is the ad I have been waiting for!!! Time to make my Christmas wish list Edit: I almost had a heart attack when I didn't see their normal fleece sale on the front page. Looks like that's going live Saturday morning instead? Not thrilled with having to get up early 2 days in a row but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
  20. I'm going to have to go scope out the store before BF. The scarves and yankee candles might work as coworker or boss gifts.
  21. I see no reason that your daughter should not go. If you are concerned that Phoebe might get injured in the initial rush, do you think having her be in a cart might be a possibility? That way she could be near your daughter and not under foot when the doors open, but could get out of the cart a tiny bit later in the shopping trip after the mad dash into the store.
  22. I miss when they put the coupons in their ad. You didn't have to worry about being there in line before they opened to guarantee that you would get a coupon then.
  23. I almost want to go into Walmart and stand in line, get all the way to the register and when the checkout person asks me where my items are, just say that I was there for the free candy cane. The look on peoples' faces would ALMOST be worth it.
  24. I was thinking that a scavenger hunt would be fun but since we pretty much stick together the entire time (especially since we are not out to buy anything this year) we would end up seeing/experiencing the same things so we would just constantly be tied. I can use the same squares on each bingo board so long as I switch up their position on the board or I could even do some different squares on each board to change things up a bit. I think it would be more difficult to make two separate scavenger lists with relatively equal levels of difficulty and point values, but maybe I'm just overthinking it [emoji1] For groups that split up a more traditional scavenger hunt (with one master list) would work great and all you need is a quick photo snapped on your phone for verification of your finds.
  25. So long story short, my dad and I have been BF shopping buddies for 10+ years now and for the first time ever there is nothing we need to shop for on BF this year. We don't want the tradition to end completely so we are going to make bingo sheets and go out on BF just to be in the thick of it all. Whoever wins gets their breakfast paid for. I need ideas to fill the bingo squares and was hoping you all could help me brain storm. So far I have come up with a few things but need lots more: traffic accident/parking lot fender bender Shouting match between customers Empty sales rack Line cutter shaming Registers/credit card readers going down Share your ideas with me please!
