I was just thinking how much I used to love Bonton growing up. Their $10 off $10 coupons were great and it really stretched my tiny high school budget (it was essentially free money and it was easy to get multiple coupons!). I also loved the store experience. They crammed so much extra product into the aisles that it was like a maze and made my small high school stature a big advantage. I loved darting through that store snagging my nearly free presents. I am a planner by nature. I find I get more stressed if I go in without some semblance of a plan. This year I have had to ramp up my organization and planning skills for fear of my job getting to busy that I would find myself running short on preparation time but so far things have been manageable. The good news is my dog is okay. The bad news is that the unexpected pricey vet bill is going to eat into my holiday budget (I figured it was better to take the hit in my shopping budget rather than put it on my credit card and pay interest). I liked things better when everything opened early on Fridays but that's just me. I don't shop in store on Thanksgiving and I also try not to make purchases online that day either (sometimes a stellar deal makes me break that rule). It's a personal preference and I don't begrudge anyone that chooses otherwise. I just have to adjust my expectations, though I'm not usually out for the big ticket items everyone else wants so I still do well. Last year I didn't have any reason to shop but I still went out Friday for the tradition of it.
