Just came back from doing some browsing/recon at Kohls. I like confirming sizes/colors in store so I can order with confidence tonight. I hurt my hip/back so not this weekend as originally planned (I’m trying to take it easy in hopes that I’ll be well enough to shop on the big day next week). It looks like they are changing things up this year with the coupons. The first page of the ad says to get in store early Thursday for the coupons and they are only while supplies last. I even went to page 61 of the add and went through all the fine print and there is no mention of other days/times when coupons would be handed out. I can’t get there on Thursday which stinks as I always looked forward to this coupon.

So I try to never spend any money at or give any business to Walmart (long story) but normally their BF ad at least tempts me to break that personal rule. I did a store pick up yesterday specifically to get the kohls cash to use today with the $10 vetsday coupon code and didn’t receive the kohls cash. Sadly it does seems hit or miss.

Honestly even right when doors open Home Depot is usually quite tame. I would think if you go 30 minutes after opening it would only be as busy as a normal Saturday. As for availability I would think they would still have some for an hour or 2 after opening depending on how many they stock, maybe even longer. I got the same dewalt drill deal on Black Friday a few years ago and I love it.

Our budget goals are $400 on gifts, $100 on dishes to pass, $100 on outings/events and $100 on charities. If I can manage to get everything on my list and come in under budget the money left over will go back into savings. All purchases will be made on our credit card for the reward points but they will be paid off immediately (with reward points we have already earned or money we have saved and earmarked for the holidays). Definitely both. Some of the things I need are from stores that we don’t have locally so I order those online. Also I don’t go out Thursday so if I think an item I want will sell out I will order that online too (usually with in store pick up if it’s an option since I will be out on Friday anyway). I’ll be in Rochester, NY. It’s my second year of Black Friday in Rochester even though I’ve lived here most of my life. Until my grandparents passed I always spent a Thanksgiving with them down in Olean, NY. Rochester is a MUCH bigger place than Olean so it’s been an adjustment, but fun nonetheless.
