  1. oh I hear you! I'm trying to get my parents to agree to replace the tv in our living room. My dad's all its a good tv it was top of the line when we bought it. Dad it's old! It's older than my neices and nephews (who are entering their teens). Now he's saying well let's fix the other big tv. You mean the one that's 8 years old? I'm really, really hoping that one that size is on sale for a good price.
  2. What's the likelihood of a deal on nexus 7's?
  3. Are there usually any deals on unlocked phones?
  4. I'm really hoping that a 50"- 60" smart tv goes on sale for a good price. Or even a 3D tv without the smart feature. And a 32" for my dad.

For your dd Portable Bluetooth speaker Ear buds Nail polish Make up Hair chalk There's this perfume you can get I know I've seen it at rite aid and Walmart before, but it comes with a angel teddy bear holding it. Layered pumpkin pie? What is this, and why have I not heard of this before?
  11. Both Singer and Brother are very good brands. My sister has a Singer, while I have a brother. That being said I wouldn't get the one from target that looks like the machine my niece got, and if your daughter really is crafty it will drive her nuts very fast, due to its limited functionality. Now as far as the other machines, The brother LX is from a very good line of "basic" machines, that's what I have mine is an older model bought in 03, it works very well for what I use it for, though I don't really use it all that often. The Singer prelude is also a very good "basic" machine my sister has been very happy with hers. The Singer has eight stitch options where as the brother LX has 14 stitch options. The price difference comes from Singer being a well known brand not that they're a better brand. The difference in stitch count and price would make me go for the brother LX over the Singer prelude. Though both are good machines. The Brother project runway is a "computerized" machine with a lot more options as far as stitches, & button holes. The main difference between a basic and computerized machines is obviously the computer inside the machine. Basic machines last, I know someone with a basic that she got 35 years ago that still works well. Computerized machines do eventually need parts replaced, though as long as you don't get a faulty machine it's years down the line before you should have to worry about replacing anything. So if you think that she'll use it a lot, for clothes and a bunch of other things then I'd go for the project runway. But if you think she'll only use it maybe a couple times a month then I'd go for the brother LX. Hope that helps. One tip, YouTube as a lot of sewing tutorials. Some of the best basic starting clothes projects I've found are by Annika Victoria. Edit: Since you know nothing about sewing I realized that there is one other thing you should know, that either you or her grandma should pick up for her, and that's pinking shears. You can get them at Walmart or JoAnns, they're not expensive and they make a big difference. Pinking shears are a type of scissors that have a zigzag blade instead of straight blade. You use them to cut fabric so it doesn't fray.
  12. There's several military towns on that list.
  13. That is very good yarn for learning with. YouTube has a lot of great videos, you might also want to look Tamara Kelly she has a lot of helpful tutorials on YouTube.
  14. I just got a HP envy 4500 for my birthday, it uses hp61 ink. It also has wireless printing capabilities.
  15. I have a mini in my kitchen, and I love it. Though instead of buying another mini for my room, I'm getting the Bella Duel Brew from Target $29, it does coffee by the cup, and you could use kcups or grounds. Yes I'm putting a coffee maker in my room, I need caffeine before I can deal with people, and "people" start bugging me before I've even made it to the keurig in the morning.
  16. That is so sweet. I really hope she likes her doll.

  18. I'm not a mom, but I have 6 neices, and a 6 (& 1/2) year old sister, plus I used to work at a summer day camp. Personally I think an american girl type doll would be better for a 7 year old. I forget the brand name but there is a doll line that is sold at both michaels and joann's that you could use a coupon on. Another thing with getting an american girl type doll (18" doll) is that the clothes and accessories are interchangeable between the lines so wheather she goes back to her parents or onto another foster family she will easily be able to get more things for her doll. Thank you for doing what you are for those kids. I got lucky and was adopted straight away, but my brothers were in and out of the system for years before they found homes.

  20. That it does. This coming from someone who lives in fl. There is a reason I don't travel to the more populated areas for BF, my town is crazy enough thank you.
  21. My family is also blended (really, really blended). My oldest brother (from my father's first marriage) through a fit my first christmas, his daughter was born a month after me. My mom bought more for me than she did for my neice. Because I was her only child, and my neice had her parents, her grandparents on her mother's side, and her dad's mother and stepfather. Where as I got one thing each from my two older siblings, my mom's family had a weird rule about presents for under 2 yrs (apparently my cousin almost choked to death on wrapping paper when he was a year and a half) so they don't send anything for kids under two, and my grandma (my father's mom) bought equally for her new grand and great-grand daughters (aka: we got the same gift). Those "boys" are grown men, they have their mother. Your two youngest have just you. They can act their age, your oldest acts like an adult so can they. If you're worried about it, give your kids their extra gifts another day. My parents ended up doing that for me growing up, I'd get my "extra presents" on new years, it was fun and extended the holidays for me. Or one of my aunts did gifts with one part of gifts the family on christmas eve, one part Christmas day, and one part on the 26th. Btw your oldest Daughter is very sweet to put her younger siblings first like that.
  22. ok question. my mom has a 2013 nexus 7, and she wants another tablet so she can watch and read at the same time. would the galaxy tab 3 lite be a comparable tablet? She has ms and anything bigger than a 8" is too hard for her to handle, and she prefers 7". She likes how light weight my ipad mini is but she hates apple's ios.
  23. This year I'm going completely solo. I used to drag my dad along, I'd leave him in line for an item then go running around the store to find other items. Then I'd drop him back home around 12-2am, then go back out at 5:30 to meet a friend for more shopping. But last year my dad got cut out of the equation because of a (thankfully minor) stroke, and this year my friend will be driving her sister back out to the airport so there goes that plan. So I'll be doing it all by myself this year. On the plus side I can listen to whatever I want in the car.
