We use our AmEx card for most all purchases. Absolutely love the cash back rewards...we always pay it off immediately so we never pay interest. Also have a Kohl's card for anything we will be purchasing from there. We have the Target Redcard debit card but I usually never have anything on my list from Target...it's there if I need it. Our PayPal account was compromised last month and someone from Russia took it upon them-self to purchase a $2,000 laptop ...PayPal refunded us the money and we immediately closed our account with them...if it's that easy to gain access to the money in our checking account (even with all of PayPal's security features in place) I want no part of it...I know that's probably an overly excessive thing to do..but oh well. My biggest tip if you plan on making all of your purchases on a credit card like we are is to ALWAYS have the money set aside to immediately pay it off...you do not want to be paying interest on your good deals...or any purchases for that matter.

I buy several of the $1 set of 100 lights from Dollar General every year...the $2 evergreen garland that Michael's always has...and I usually buy several new towels from Kohl's every year as something always tends to happen to several of mine throughout the year. I avoid the cheapo appliances and $2 movies like the plague...never understood the appeal. I guess they have a particular purpose and crowd...I don't want all the movies (that I can easily buy/rent online) cluttering up my house and I prefer to invest in more expensive, quality appliances rather than the cheapo, throwaway appliances. Forgot to mention that I most usually always end up with 1 or 2 sets of 1,000+ thread count sheets from whoever has the best price on them...last year it was Walmart and the year before that was Meijer.

I'll be following this post as well...I never thought of that. We're going to Orlando in December and still haven't booked our flight... (long story of waiting on our credit card company to issue us points we were planning to use to purchase the flights)...I may end up booking on BF if they have any specials! I will have to look at it when I get it out of the box. If I remember correctly, it'a not made like most trees that have the removable bottom rod. (It's so hard to describe these types of things)...if it does, then that would probably be better for me to try out!

Corn pudding! (The name sounds so vile to me and because of that, I refused to try it for years...boy was I missing out...absolutely the most delicious thing ever!) I make it every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas and it is always a hit! A delicious comfort food. I usually double this recipe and use a larger baking dish. 1 can of creamed corn 1 can whole kernel corn 1/4 pound of butter softened 1 package Jiffy cornbread mix 8 oz of sour cream Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Put butter in 2 quart casserole dish, place in oven until melted. Remove casserole dish and add creamed corn, kernel corn, corn muffin mix and sour cream. Mix well, bake uncovered approximately 30 minutes.

Yes, you read it right lol. A couple of years ago I was able to get a 9ft Christmas tree from Walmart for $30. It's gorgeous. We have cathedral ceilings so in some parts of our living room, the tree fits with no issues...but I think this year I want it back in the corner of the room (where the ceiling is considerably lower) to save space and so I only have to decorate one side of the tree lol. I know it wont fit in its current state so I'm considering cutting off a significant portion of the metal rod that goes into the stand (the bottom portion that has no branches) to make it shorter. Anyone ever done anything like this before? I can't imagine it not working...my only concern is that it will cause the first row of branches to be a lot closer to the floor but I honestly don't think that would look bad. I considered cutting some of the top portion of the tree off but I feel that would be a lot more noticeable and possibly look ridiculous. Any input? I'd really prefer to not buy another tree.

I get a large majority of what I want online but BF just wouldn't be complete or feel right to me without venturing out into the madness lol Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

Dollar General is one of my favorites too...mainly for the $1 sets of 100 lights they have (actually I think they do that sale on Thanksgiving day). I always buy 6 or so boxes of clear lights every year because I always end up with a set that doesn't work...so much easier to toss them out and use a new set than mess with them for hours trying to get them to work!

Unfortunately there's not a RIte Aid remotely close to me...but seeing the new ads slowly pop up has me excited!!!
-
I always see lots of good deals on them from Home Depot and Lowes as others have stated. I was fortunate enough to get my current tree two years ago a few weeks after Christmas....at Walmart of all places. It's a 9 ft (unfortunately not pre lit) and I only paid $30 for it. =) Hope you find an amazing deal on one you want!

Kmart was a favorite when they were still a thing around here. Kohl's has been my favorite the past few years...amazing prices and you get all that Kohl's cash to use later....can't beat it

Other than Christmas with the Kranks their Christmas movie selection has sucked the past few years! They all seem to be a bunch of corny low budget movies....I wish they'd put some good classics on there!

They actually just built a brand new one a few months ago here in Cincinnati and built a brand new Payless Shoes beside it...I was completely shocked because I thought these were both long gone or close to long gone
-
I purchased 3 rolls of ribbon at Sam's Club last night. 50 yards on a roll for $6.95 a roll...can't beat that!!

Bed Bath and Beyond is still a very popular and happening place here in Cincinnati...although I'm not sure why. I've always found it to be soooooo over priced. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

I don't remember much about their sales but I always used to go BF shopping with my mom and grandma at Ames department store...those are some of my first BF memories and will always be special to me. I will miss Radio Shack and Kmart...all of the ones even remotely close to me have shut their doors.

We have the Nest thermostat, two Nest cams, the Hue bridge (we have switched all of our bulbs out for Hue bulbs over the past few years) and the Amazon echo. We love them all and use them on a daily basis. The Nest thermostat is by far the best purchase, however. It really does cut down on your heating and cooling bill. My only complaint is the fee that you have to pay for the recording on the Nest cams...but for the "plug and play" convenience they give you (No running cables other than the power cable, no monitors, no external hard drives etc) it's pretty much worth it. You just have to watch out...these Hue bulbs will make you lazy LOL also forgot to add that we have the Chamberlain wifi garage door opener....this has came in handy sooooo many times as I constantly leave the house and forget if I closed the garage door. Now I can just look at my phone and see if it's opened or closed...and take care of it if need be!

Well, folks I made my first Christmas decor purchase of the year at Hobby Lobby yesterday! Just some glittery floral picks for my tree...I'm planning on buying a couple of things a week from here on out to add to my current Christmas decor as I haven't added anything new in several years.

I'm all for stores being open on Thanksgiving...yes, working holidays sucks but it has always been a fact of life for my family and I. This year we are having our Thanksgiving dinner the day before Thanksgiving because of everyone's work schedules. My husband and I will be having an early dinner with his family on the actual day of Thanksgiving and will be ready to shop until we drop later that night!
-
I usually try to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put ours up but I will be working the day after Thanksgiving this year. (Fortunately I work nightshift and all the BF sales are late thanksgiving night/early in the morning these days as we all know! I won't miss out on the fun!) I will probably put ours up the day before Thanksgiving. I've already been planning and Pinteresting some ideas for this year's decor. I think I'm going to add some new colors this year!

I purchased the Bissell ProHeat from Walmart last year for $88 (on sale from $138...I just had to go check the ad). I've used it several times and really like it! Not really sure if this is as heavy duty of a machine as you're looking for, though.

So funny you mention this...I have to reset my password every year as I can never remember it lol. I now use Google Chrome as my browser and I had it save the password to my account so hopefully this will be the last year of password resetting for me lol.
