  1. I work in public safety. I work 3rd shift and usually have Thanksgiving off so in years past we have always went out shopping on Thanksgiving night into the early morning hours of Friday. I usually always work on the actual night of BF which is no big deal as all the shopping is always over with. This year we're not going out and don't have plans to order much (if anything).
  2. Sorry for reviving an older thread, but I agree.... I have never been so unenthused about a Black Friday in my life....here we are 4 days before the big day and this is my first time logging in here this year. Not going out this year and likely ordering slim to nothing online....*sigh* *end negativity*
  3. This is going to be a strange BF for sure!
  4. I just started working on ours. We had a new house built this year so I have more space to decorate this year than in years past. I usually don’t start quite this early but I’m starting to learn that it’s a lot of work and I want plenty of time to enjoy it! I did our mantel, assembled and fluffed 1 of 3 trees, and put some lit garland on our staircase. [emoji7][emoji319]
  5. I think what it comes down to is the fact that we don’t NEED anything, which is actually something to be thankful for. We are however in the process of adopting an 11 year old boy, so I’m hoping we can figure out a list of wants/needs for him and that can rekindle my BF excitement! Maybe I’ll start an online shopping party tradition this year—invite some family and friends over to shop online, watch movies, and have left overs [emoji16]
  6. I’m not trying to be “that” person or rain on anyone’s parade...but for some reason I’m just not as excited about BF this year as I have been in years past. I used to check several times a day for new ads but all I’ve even glanced at this year is Kohl’s. I need to get myself out of this BF funk!
  7. I wish they'd just get it over with and close 'em all...it's inevitable. Why keep holding on...
  8. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and making Gotta Deal possible! I don't know what I would do without this site!
  9. ^ Dumb walkers [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] We had plenty of those...also several people grocery shopping in Walmart...I always find that interesting...
  10. The employees at the Under Armour store we visited needed a major attitude check...I said the exact same thing...i know retail is ANNOYING especially on a day like BF but part of being a retail worker is faking it and smiling/still being nice!
  11. Kohl's 10 St Nicholas throws (for part of gift bags I will be giving this year) 3 The Big One throws Triple slow cooker 3 counter stools Was going to get the Nest Thermostat here but our power company ended up offering them for sale online for $114...even better deal so we got it through them! Walmart 2 king size sheet sets Pioneer Woman Gadget set (they were out of these but I luckily found a set in an abandoned cart...i swear it really was abandoned lol ) 2 sets of the Rubbermaid food storage containers Netgear router Shark Ion robotic vacuum Michael's 10 of the 5 for $ 10 jar candles (I use these in my gift bags as well) 4 of the Caron yarn "big cakes"...picked these up for a friend/coworker Best Buy Samsung 55" LED tv Macy's Belgique pots and pans set Target (Didn't plan on going here...we stopped by just to browse...) Home Alone 1 & 2 DVDs to add to our Christmas Movie collection...I thought they were sold out of the Home Alone 1 DVD's but I fortunately found one that was laying somewhere it shouldn't have been ...also picked up some peanut M&M's because we needed a little snack! We then headed to our local outlet mall...we usually go to a different outlet mall out of town but didn't feel like making the 1+ hour drive this year...that was kind've a mistake because our local outlet mall was packed SHOULDER TO SHOULDER (this was around midnight) with insane lines...when we go to the one out of town it's usually a ghost town! At the outlet mall I only shopped at one place, Under Armour...this is the ONLY time of year I will purchase from them because they're otherwise too darn expensive! I purchased 3 hoodies and a pair of sweatpants there...not much. Was going to try to make it to Home Depot at 0600 as soon as they opened to get the 3pc area rug set but I was TIRED so we came home and went to bed...slept in and woke up around noon...decided to go to Home Depot and see if they happened to have any of the area rug sets left and much to my surprise they had tons of them left so I was able to pick up those! Very happy! I also ordered two ceiling fans from them online Thanksgiving morning. All in all a very successful and fun year! I'm really thinking of changing the tradition next year and staying home and having a "Black Friday party"...having fun snacks and drinks and ordering everything online! Easily 98% of the things I purchased were available online and the older I get the more I hate people and their rudeness! I've always said I would continue to go out for the fun and excitement of it but again, the older I get the less enjoyable it is becoming. We'll see what BF 2019 brings! I could change my mind before then lol.
  12. One would think after this happening year after year they'd better prepare their servers/whatever else for next year...
  13. Fortunately was able to get the router I needed and the shark robotic vac...will keep an eye out on this tv...all hope may not be lost
  14. Ticked...TCL 65" for $398...can't add it to my cart even though it's allegedly available online...went from $598 to $398 and now it's at $498...wtf
  15. Woohoo! Just got the Belgique 11pc cookware...hope these end up being better than the POS Rachel Ray cookware we got a few years ago.... http://www.macys.com/shop/featured/belgique
  16. From what I understand, you can add more cameras....but hubby just realized that we misunderstood the ad...it's an Arlo Pro "2 pack" not the Arlo Pro 2 "2 pack"...we were hoping for the 2 series....darn
  17. My triple slow cooker was delivered today! Talk about fast! Also picked up my cookie sheets in store today (I got the free $5 Kohl's cash for picking those up in store).
  18. I was able to order 3 of the $69.99 Morgan stools, 10 of the $3.99 St. Nicholas throws (gifts), a set of the $9.99 Food Network cookie sheets, the $29.99 (after rebate…already have that filled out) Bialetti triple slow cooker, and one of the $19.99 The Big One down alternative comforters in king size. I ordered them as soon as it hit 01:00...I was able to use my 20% off coupon along with the $10 off $50…so that was a nice surprise rather than the 15% off one…every little bit helps…and the 6% ebates is offering right now is awesome as well! This marks everything off my Kohl’s list. WOOHOO!
  19. We had a Gordman's for about 4 months (after a year of construction) then they shut their doors and Burlington took over. If their ads used to be anything like this I can see why they only lasted 4 months here...
  20. Might grab a few of those $99 Hunter ceiling fans...
  21. I'll be the odd man out...I'm excited about this ad...been waiting on a deal on Arlo Pro 2 cameras...was hoping Sam's would come through for me and they did!
  22. BF is gonna be over by the time they release these ads!
  23. As with every year, I'm now at the point of tapping my foot with my hand on my hip while impatiently waiting on Michael's, Menards, Lowes, and Home Depot to get with the program! We have lists to make!!
  24. I always get a new set or two every year...it brings me joy to toss out the old, ugly, stained ones from the year prior! (Wasteful? Yes. But I'm too OCD to care lol)
