I am more looking for a better quality for at dds swim meets. They are typcially floursent lighting and needed to be way zoomed in and obviously the subject is moving LOL my point and shoot does ok outside but inside zoomed it just isnt as crisp or its way to dark So i dont know if I need the fanciest thing on the market. I just would like all pics to be as clear as the outdoor ones are currently no matter distance/lighting

The ones DD liked a that point was tetris type games, a few dora ones, and Uno I 2nd looking for GBA games They will be cheaper and I feel they had more for the early players

what is her reading level? That is really the biggest stumbling block with the younger kids and video games.

I am just happy when the cashier says anything....maybe I have low standards LOL I would much rather be told Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Blessed Be, or Happy Kwanzaa then ignored and filed trough the check out by a stressed out drone of a cashier. If someone said Happy Hanukkah to me(as a non-Jewish person) I would say "Thank you and to you as well" and be happy for the moment of polite that entered my day.

Thanksgiving is Meijers and CVS sometimes Walgreens(wish we had a kmart still as they seem like they have good things on TG) BF starts at midnight at walmart to load up on all the stuff I am PMing then waiting to get anything I need from their sale. Then typically Meijers and the rest of the list is based on what I couldnt get at WM w/ PM Late in day stores are CVS(again), Walgreens, Michaels, Jo anns, I find it funny people wont do WM and yet I think Menards is leap and bounds worse. The people are meaner. The lines are longer. The workers ruder(which says alot compared to WM) Menards would have to be giving away Ben Roethlisberger and a lb of whip cream for me to consider it again LOL

About the CVS question...The thanksgiving deals are great there. I had 5 pages of how to best group items to get most from rolling the ECBs over and over on top of each other we spent about 50$ at the end of the day there and got easily 400$ worth of stuff (including an mp3 player) Last month DH bought deodorant for the first time since then...they had his preferred brand for 99c so any time I needed to add a few dollars to an order to burn up more ECB I added them so ended up with ALOT of it LOL 2 years in a row the "hit" toy has come from CVS as well. They will have toys b1g1 or some deal on them and at the end of all the HBA ECBs i use the remainder for the toys. 2 years ago they had the table top crane machine that we ended up running to gas station Christmas day for more batteries cause not only the kids but every adult in the family had a blast playing with it. And last year was the ATM bank. DD *STILL* has all her money in it and carries the ATM card in her purse LOL I am of course hoping for stellar deals on everything but agree last few years since it went from a core bunch of die hard shoppers to main stream the deals have waned. I dont know if its the media hype or the economy. I say this and still always manage to drop several hundred bucks so how bad can sales be LOL I always make Michaels a stop anyways as the craft stuff is excellent for stocking stuffers and for things for DD to make as gifts. Also they usually have a 50% 1 item coupon and we usually get DD a breyer horse set with it and nephew a Thomas train with another one. These are items that rarely are sale items so the coupons work great for them

i still have a basic Digital and would LOVE to upgrade to an SLR but its uncharted waters...I know it depends on brand etc but what are the numbers? I mean at what pixel/resolution/whatever to what $$ is a deal now? Just curious what range I should be expecting on BF

How do you handle gifts for siblings w/ larger families
KBsDarling replied to leefamily23's topic in 2009
i am an only and my daughter is an only so its DH family that we have to wrry about stuff like this. His siblings both have 2 kids. When the topic of budgets came up a couple years ago I suggested a per family amount this was shot down as our DD would end up with "better" gifts since it would only be her and DH and I. Sis in law wanted a 100$ per kid min. and 50$ per adult ....we finally met in the middle at we only buy for kids now. Every year SIL makes the comment well we dont have a minimum so I just went to the dollar store when DD opens her gifts...Have trained my daughter to be nice and say thank you of course...Because she didnt get her way SIL will always be nasty about it. Just how it is The point of this rambling dirty laundry family airing is that some people will always be huffy when this subject is brought up. So if your sis is already in a snit...might as well bite the bullet and tell her you are dropping the price per kid amount. -

Wondering if she will pick up on theme before the end or if it will have to be pointed out to her LOL But 16$ for dvd and doll is not to shabby! TY once again GD -

I am looking forward to BF this year cause I am shamelessly ripping off numerous women here and started a BF book/binder. It was a little baby one last year but I already got a big ole 3 ring binder thingy and a sticky note of all the things that occurred to me to add/list in it that I thought of while waiting in line last year LOL I love the idea of tracking year to year what were sales and who was the "winner" for us -
no to costco...Spent 150$ on the one that died about 3 years ago... I have tried looking at them and it seems it has gotten more confusing in last 3 yrs LOL We dont have a Hi Def Tv(though Tv is dying and will be replaced BF and I am not sure you can even buy a "normal" Tv anymore so may end up w/ one) We have a local Cable company and have a box from them I dont know if I need a digital tuner or any of the other stuff...Help!?!

In the market for a DVD recorder. Our current one wont stop saying Hello...while friendly its not the most helpful in recording....Have a RCA and probably woulr prefer to NOT have another(been issue filled since day one) but am open to any that are a good deal also current one is NOT a combo(vcr) and really dont care if new one is or not. And if anyone has one that they love would love reviews. Same goes for headache in a box ones as well! LOL

i actually just ran out of amazon boxes.....was able to mail various gifts etc all year with the boxes i accumulate from Amazon's drop sale...Last year wasnt the WHOAMYGOODNESS but the deals were there. Hoping for a SMOOTHER year this year. The whole only some people getting adjustments and ever changing criteria was not cool

we did it last year...when the day we were supposed to pick up pup we couldnt cause we had been declared state of emergency for frigid temps...you would think that would have said something to me...like -10 is NOT when you want to be begging a puppy to piddle
