  1. It's usually an option, but we won't know until we get a better scan of the ad.
  2. Great explanation Brad! I've noticed this technique in previous month's Best Buy ads. Cheers on the best BF site around!
  3. Available right now on Bestbuy.com for the same advertised price $499! However, upon further inspection, you can now get it for $467 at newegg.com a very highly respected internet retailer.
  4. On the front page of the ad, Best Buy says they will issue tickets starting at 4 am for the early bird items. They've tried this in the past with limited results. Hopefully they will have better crowd control and more of a commitment to customers who were actually first in line.
  5. DV? Digital Video? Maybe you mean DVR?
  6. You will pay more up front for a name brand such as Samsung, Panasonic, or HP but you might save a lot in the long run. The name brands tend to have less problems or service issues which are EXPENSIVE EXPENSIVE. Also, take a look at a name brand screen vs. an Insignia or Maxent. In my opinion the name brands have a nicer picture. I suggest visiting the store ahead of time to check out the display. Also while in the store take a look at the picture settings. A lot of stores will boost the brightness and color on the cheaper brands to make them look as colorful as the name brands. However raising the brightness and color shortens the life of the tv and increases chance of burn in.
  7. I would not be surprised if Circuit city and Best Buy both had a 42" plasma under $1000. However, it will probably be a brand such as Maxent, Insignia, Vizio, etc... I'm holding out for a name brand (Panasonic, Samsung, Philips or Toshiba) 50" around $1500.
  8. Best Buy and Circuit city both usually have better deals than Sears. These stores will also usually give you a wider variety of blitz items.
  9. I've seen the same thing. My 52" HD Widescreen from two years ago was on sale a few days after blitz and it was supposed to be a blitz item.

    Best Buy online

You probably will not find any doorbusters online but you might find some of the 24 hour or 48 hour specials from the ad online. We'll just have to wait for the ad to come out. It will probably tell you what deals will be online.
  11. Don't get ahead of yourself. There are still many ads that haven't released yet.
  12. We actually did that at a local Best Buy. Not that it did any good. Last year was the worst ever. The Best Buy Employees just walked right past half of the people while they were handing out tickets for the items. We missed two items last year because the guy with those tickets started about 50 back in the line.
  13. Yes, but it seems in the past few years, they've been the off-brand called Dual. Last year it was two 12" subs in a ported box with a 460 watt Dual amp. The entire package was $129.
  14. Thanks Rossman (Awesome site!!!!!). I found 2005 on the site already, but I'm interested to see the years where I was excited to get 50 cdr's for $20, a pci modem for $9.99, a 14" lcd monitor for around $200, or the 40gb hard drive for $40.
  15. I'd love to see some of the past Black Friday ad scans from Best Buy. I've been a Best Buy faithful since 1999 (give or take a year). Anybody have any?
  16. Awesome repsonses. I have to agree with several people on here. My gf would love a new digital slr. Me personally, I would like a 50" plasma screen. Hoping to see a name brand one between $1499 and $1999.
  17. What item, more than any other, are you hoping to get a great deal on this year?
  18. If anyone would be gracious enough, I'd love to have the BestBuy ads as far back as you have them. It would be nice to reminisce about the past BF's. [email protected] Thanks in advance for your help!
  19. You should have raised the limits. Remember alot of people spend thousands, unfortunately your poll ends at $200. If you're only spending $200 it's almost not worth the long waits. Although it is extremely fun waiting in line, I laugh every year at the people that show up to buy the $29 mp3 player or some $4.99 movies. The wait just doesn't see to be worth it. BTW. About $2000 mentally set aside so far. However, I'll only spend it if I can get a name brand 50" Plasma. COME ON BEST BUY.....DON'T LET ME DOWN!!!!!
  20. built to order or configured to order
  21. This entire forum is dedicated toward shopping the day after thanksgiving, so no, you haven't missed anything. And you can pick up the ads in the Thanksgiving day paper.
  22. I had this happen. Best Buy wouldn't accept my credit card payment even though I had over $2000 worth of credit available. I ended up having to put back about $200 worth of items and use another credit card. I ended up calling the credit card verification company that Best Buy uses and they said I was randomly selected for "fraud protection" (or some BS like that). They said "by no fault of your own, your purchase was red flagged as a possible fraud attempt." I was pissed. By no fault of my own, I had to put back $200 worth of merchandise.
  23. Are these projectors good enought that you can use them for an every day tv? And what about their longevity?
