Looks like I'll be trying for one of the kindles for my father-in-law if I can get it online.

Just read an article on MSN about how Black Friday is becoming obsolete. So sad!

Usually I have to keep myself from doing any shopping this early but I'm just not feeling it at all this year. The super early shopping times aren't helping the situation. I'm sure that I'll still go out for some BF shopping but I doubt I'll be standing in line waiting for stores to open this Thanksgiving.

I need new slippers and a new pair of jeans. I have at least a dozen books on my amazon wishlist that I'd like to get so a giftcard would be nice. My big gift this year is going to be LASIK surgery scheduled for the first of the year. That should cover the next few Christmases and Birthdays combined.

I have yet to read a positive reaction from anyone regarding the earlier opening time. Hopefully this will backfire tremendously.

They have the MLP wedding castle, if I remember correctly.

There were actually a lot of things from my kids' Christmas lists in their ad but it's not worth it to me to rush through Thanksgiving dinner. Hopefully Target or Walmart will have the same things or I'll just try to get them later that evening and hope they're still available.

5 PM? Doesn't look like they'll be getting my business this year. Last year's start time was cutting it pretty close but 5 pm is a definite deal breaker for me.

I'm pretty bummed about that. There are quite a few items from my shopping list in their BF sale but it's not worth skipping Thanksgiving dinner over.

I've bought one gift each for my 2 daughters and my husband. But I may end up taking back the gift for my older daughter once she makes out her list. I also have to buy birthday gifts for her a few weeks before Christmas so I've got a long way to go!

According to their facebook page, the code won't be active until midnight PST. How frustrating!

Has anyone gotten the 10% code to work yet? It keeps telling me that it's not active yet, even though it's 35 minutes past the midnight EST start time.

This was my first experience with Walmart on BF. I have to say, I was impressed with how organized everything was. I got there 2 hours early and there was hardly anyone there yet. I guess it helps that we have 3 Walmarts in our area. I got all of the toys on my list (and then some) and had checked out by 8:15. Pleasantly surprised that Walmart isn't always the chaotic hell that everyone makes it out to be!

Well I looked through all the DVDs listed and nothing jumps out and grabs me so I guess I can cross them off my list for now.

I got a card in the mail from Gymboree with a 20% off coupon that can be combined with the BF deals.

That was the last year I missed out on BF. I was 2 weeks away from delivering my first child so I sat that year out. 2008 was my first year experiencing the madness!

Mostly cloudy with a High of 50, low of 38 for Thanksgiving. Rain on Friday. Rain actually forecast all week except for Thanksgiving day. I expect the lines will be pretty long. The best BF I can remember was when we had a big surprise snow/ice storm. I got to TRU 30 minutes before opening and got in with very little wait!

Looks like I'll be up til midnight tonight!

Well maybe not an offical black friday but they're having a "winter sale" that runs through the 26th.
