  1. some one go sweet talk a store director! and if they are keeping it under lock and key so tightly, don't you think i twill be a good ad?!!!!!???? seriously though, i wass supposed to be out already. Like 300 people I know works for meijer, but nobody will get fired for me so I can see that ad!!!!!!
  2. advice? stay home!!! or wear a helmet. watch the youtube videos.... wear a helmet. sure people may look at you funny, but its a great conversation starter and you won't end up brain damaged from a flying toaster! seriously though drive to a walmart in a smaller town, get there way early, be aware of surroundings, be able to get out of the way in a hurry if you have to, don't take a cart, dont take a kid and be ready for complete madness aand complete idiots with no regard for others. Be respectfull of others and employees, and they may help you out. If it is calm and orderly, good for you! if it isn't (and it won't be) you were prepared and warned. have a supply of candy canes or mints or something, cashiers, employees and others in line will LOVE you and it helps with low blood sugar after hour 22 of being awake.
  3. sorry dude. black friday is the best idea when living paycheck to paycheck. your suggesting paying a higher price at a later date (or eariler) and getting less santa for your buck? I've been there and sometimes its the olny way christmas can be done!
  4. You can contact your cc company BEFORE BF and let them know that you will be out shoppping on bf, that 'generally' stops the freeze. kinda like calling them and letting them know that you will be using your card out of country... never had a problem. they are always happy to help us charge on them! LOL I always put Black Friday on store cards. Easy to just buy what i need, come home sort it out over the next 3 days and return what i overbought on with nothing out of pocket. BUT I always pay it all off asap. As Soon As Posts.
  5. please do not ever bring the fanny pack back. i don't care what you are doing those things are :BLECH: unless you are alone in the wilderness and don't mind bears and raccoons laughing you should never ever ever wear one. i am having flashbacks to neon pants, waterfall bangs that stood 8 inches high, and leg warmers.... and heck yea!I'd wear my Black Friday sweats in march, may, july anytime. I wear a sweatshirt all year. I live in Michigan. It snows from October to may. I made myself a hoodie. Took one with the Kangaroo puch in the front (the pullover kind) sewed up the sides of the pouch, opened the top and added a zipper closure there. Same idea as a fanny pack, yet slightly less stupid looking. there you go, I am giving away my billion dollar idea. If anyone makes kajillions off it, please send me free sweatshirts forever!
  6. seeing as how today has gone ad wise... i think brad is drinkiing!
  7. according to those in the know, it is out there somewhere! there have been 'reports' of it beeing twittered, tweeted or whatever it is...... obviously i am not in the know, seeing as i am still looking for the stupid thing!!! ugh.... Kinda like your cousins friends sisters aunts uncle told you something.. someone find it.....
  8. I am all in for the sweatshirt or a wind breaker idea. Its snowing here. skull caps, a travel mug, binder or folder (My coupons are a disaster right now) , thermal l/s shirt. And they make the around your neck lanyard thingy in solid colors (not just clear) with a zipper closure (!!!) for credit cards/ ID and all that. I have a cheerios one from a NASCAR race, would rather have a GD one.... and the huge mesh shopping bags. I mean, its not like we go into the stores for 3 t shirts... we need the BIG ones so we don't need a cart.
  9. Thats my favorite thing about thanksgiving... i get to irritate the crap out of my mom for not getting up early enough and that we needed to "GO 15 min. ago the lines are going to be huge"! oh, and my favorite line we do every year is the "You can sleep when your deaD MOM now its time to SHOP!" and mom says , "this shopping is gonna KILL ME" I guess I am comic relief for the day ahead! seriously, you'd have to know my family. "Come on MEIJER K mart and BIG lots~ i need to shop somewhere! If there is something GREAT in the ad, looks like I'm skipping dry turkey... my mom can have that junk! I'll get a deli sandwitch sitting in line....

    Ad for Nov 6

guess where I'll be tismorning?? yeah going to go buy some Life 50th anniversary! well, atleast checking to see if they have it... we get alot of random people "stopping by" for the holidays. and we do adopt a family or two, so something like this realy helps! Thanks toys r us.
  14. It does bring a "different" crowd, BUT people like that have been there all along. Its just now they bring their friends.... and you'd think that people like that would be a retailers NIGHTMARE! fights and lawsuits, broken and stolen merchandise ect. ect. UGH. ok too rude, yeah probably... do i know a few of those people, YES! have I had them shopping with me before.... yeah ONCE! I have actually witnessed a lady walking out of walmart last year with a full cart of stuff NOT PAID FOR because the lines were too long and she aint waitin'! aaahhh the holiday spirit.
  15. this is funny because, well, NOW we do...... ugh.

    Ad for Nov 6

went first thing this morning and bought 10 of the $1 operation games... 5 of them went to toys for tots. the employees working there were also purchasing them for the empty toys for tots bin.... as did another customer when we brought it up... got that bin nice and full today! Happy Holidays!
  17. anything at 50% off is a good deal. and good for you for getting them now, just HOLD THAT RECIPT someplace SAFE... My best guess is you got a great deal. Unless its clothing, you don't see much at 60% off especially when it comes to toys, and if it is they have a very limited quantity. like 5. And what would you save? $1.50-$3.00 each? for having to stand in line all day thanksgiving? then 3 hours trying to check out when you could be getting a better deal on other stuff elsewhere? nah, you got a great deal GOOD JOB! :) :highfive:
  18. next thursday or friday from what I hear.......
  19. I went WITH my dh for the first time ever. usually we divide and conquer, but doing wally world, i thought i might need the back up after hearing all the horror stories. NEVER did Walmart before. and where we are it is scary. so we drove to the next town south @ 11pm (very rich people) walked in, got in line for the big ticket item (only 5 rock bands in the store and only one was for the WII), heck he was first! ding! time to go, The store was silent for 30 seconds and then all you hears was the tear of plastic then a cfollective "YAHOO" from the crowd. It was a rush, BUT EVERYONE was all Please, and thank you and OH! sorry! excuse me, thanks And I am braced for the worst! I asked the gals around the jammmies if you see any jammies in this size, chuck them at me as they were grabbing for themselves, they grabbed what they thought my kids would like, in the CORRECT sizes for each of my 4 kids (mixed lot of boys and girls) politley handed them to me and here I am standing here going, WTH! I thought this was walmart?!?! Guess I am going back to walmart this year... But the best part was my mom calling me at 1 am going, OH! cant you just grab this tv thing from meijer??? well what do you mean I had to be in line for that yesterday? Why won't you pick it up for me, I'll pay you back! mind you I've been doing this for 10 years, and taking her with me for the last 7. she knows better, yet at 12pm she convinently forgets.... every year!
  20. hanging out with all the other crazies in line! I mean, they are just as nuts as you are, waiting 5 hours in the cold with no sleep to save 5$.... oheyeah, the other thing I love about BF is NOT HAVING TO WORK IN THE TOY DEPARTMENT EVER AGAIN!!!!! the year of the furbies............ :shiver: ps. this is the old Lusha120..... wasn't able to post or well, figure out how to fix it...LOL
