    Newspaper ads

    I miss the printed ads.
  4. I got a swing set from Walmart on a deal for days sale. It was a good price. It has since more than doubled in price. I've gone in Walmart in person and saw no crowds. I've browsed in several stores with no crowds even though they had "Black Friday" sales going on. It's not the same with all the ads spread out. On the plus side, there isn't pressure to buy quickly so you think about making the purchase more. You don't see a lot of other people buying a lot of stuff so you don't even consider buying a lot more than you intended. On the minus side, you don't see many people shopping and notice things you consider and end up buying. Unless you just walk around the store, you do not know what is on a Black Friday sale pricewise. The excitement isn't there. I hope this isn't the future of Black Friday. It seems like all the stores collaborated this year to do away with Black Friday as we know it.
  5. This year the Black Friday sales aren't very good. The sales for two months that they call Black Friday sales aren't always big sales ...but sometimes look like their regular sales. You can't look at the printed sale ads and plan to buy stuff at the cheapest price. I see much more I want when I see a printed ad rather than one online. You don't know if the item you want that is on sale in October will be cheaper at the same store or at another store closer to Christmas so you are hesitant to buy it when the first sale comes up. I don't go to most stores every Sunday or Monday or whatever day they are starting their sale so if I happen to go to a store that has a sale and stuff is still in stock it's pure chance...and I don't know what else to look for or if stuff I see is the regular price or a "doorbuster" deal. Black Friday doesn't seem as exciting as when it was just a Black Friday day of sales with all the doorbusters. As others have pointed out, the stuff will be all picked over by Black Friday. Not sure it will be worth going to many stores and I'm sure many people will have spent their budgeted Christmas money by then. On the other hand, there may be less impulse buying and I'll spend less.

    Friday sales

There were a couple of ads in the newspaper today for the ads starting today. Way fewer ads overall this year. In some of the ads posted on this site are some deals that are for Black Friday. This year it is hard to plan for Black Friday.
  8. But no. That can't be. I just shop to get great deals....

    Hallmark stores

I don't usually get much at Hallmark...but my cousin likes to get the collectibles that come out each year. She has often said she should get something when she sees it because their new stuff sells out fast. I've gone with her to find something and several stores have been out of it. So if it's one of their new collectibles, keep that in mind. A sales clerk might be able to tell you how fast they are selling right now.
  10. Will do most online and have it shipped to out of state relatives. A lot of stuff has already been on sale. I'll probably go out just to look on Black Friday but not be as intent on getting some great doorbuster...unless the ads start popping up with stuff I want. lol
  11. I see some more. I thought I was done but I think I'm just starting...
  12. So far haven't seen much I like or the great sales they usually have.
  13. Congrats to the winners.
  14. I like the real potted trees. Usually try to find one at Walmart or Home Depot.
  15. Wal Mart has one on their Black Friday deals Cricut Maker 3 Machine Smart Vinyl & Tools Bundle Now $449.99 was $579.00$579.00
  16. The ads I've seen aren't that impressive.
  17. snag this deal...oh look...I want that too...
  18. Cars are expensive. If your car is getting older and you still have a decent trade in value, consider how much the trade in value is apt to go down and with gas prices how much you will save on gas. Consider the new safety features your current car may lack over the new ones you are considering. Have you outgrown your current car? As the kids get older the car seems more cramped. Is reliability an issue? Then consider that new car smell and the cool factor. lol
  19. I think it's the one where you look up items. On the Black Friday page under categories.... then if you want more categories, it's at the bottom of the page for the categories. If you click on a category, you see the places that have that item in their ad. You can also search the ads in the search box. Is that the chart ? You can also get the list of items for each ad by clicking on the view ad item listing.
  20. i guess it feels like there is a derth of ads because some do not have prices and some are a page or two in another sale flier. You can't plan.
  21. Yes! Even the presales are frustrating with little printed.
  22. The car's getting full After this I may have to pause
