  1. Oh my goodness, that has happened to me. I bought a big playdoh set and when I opened it last week or so, there were 6 playdohs canisters that came with it. 4 of them were completely empty, 2 of them had USED playdoh in it. I was pissed. Then I looked at the parts - and I noticed that 6 other pieces were missing out of 25. I can't return it cause I bought it over 3 months ago and I saved it for DD. I think I have to open stuff now and check it. Thankfully it was for DD - if I had gifted it - I would have been SUPER embarrassed. I think I'm going to contact the makers of play doh, but it's not like its their fault either. GRRRR. We went outlet shopping today and stopped at a nearby target. Wow - definitely by far the worst Target I've been to. Looks like they didn't clearance out many of the toys that were clearanced out where I live. A lot of Lego sets were full price. Virtually nothing on clearance there worth getting at all. I returned some stuff but walked out empty handed. A little OT but just wondering... my DD will be moving to size 4-5 soon. And that's going up to the big girls department from infant/tot section. If anyone could help - what are reasonable prices for big girls (4-6 size) clothing (shirts, pants, shorts etc)? I'm still in tot price mode, but I'm assuming bigger kid clothes are more expensive. I bought the adjustable Cherokee Capris for her in size 4 & 5 for 75% off ($3.24). I did find a bunch of summer t-shirts for $1.49 each (Circo brand).
  2. I can definitely say that the Lego Clearance is a complete YMMV. In the 4 stores that I've been to in my area - the prices and clearance have been widely different. The crappest and smallest store had a bunch of big sets up to 50% off (including star wars, racers etc etc) that the other stores didn't have. But I saw a small Atlantis set that went 75% off in 2 of the stores (didn't even see it in the last one) - and it had a clearance sticker on it for 50% off, and they pulled it off and returned it to regular price!!! So I scanned it today and it was regular price for $12.18. The duplos were clearanced but different sets in different stores. I think each store had one set on clearance and none of them overlapped. I have decided to give up on Duplos and am focusing on Legos to stockpile as my oldest will be in the age range next year and the younger one will be old enough to know not to put them in his mouth. The small crappy store still had a lot of sets left at 50% off. I don't think they will go to 75% off. The racer one started at 15% for sure. I'm not sure about the others since there were only 2 stickers on them - 30 & 50. The baby clearance only went to 50% at this store, but 55% at the other 3 stores. So random. I did find more Cherokee Jeans in the boys section (size 4 & 5) for $3.24. Also I got a baby swim shirt for $1.74 and there were a ton of uniform shirts, pants & jackets for 50% off (for those who need uniforms).
  3. Urgh - stupid me, we already threw out the box. We just don't have enough space in the apt. And also it's too much of a pain with the apt and street parking to drag it back to the store. But it would have been an awesome idea if I could convince them of it. Thanks though!!! Maybe I can do that with some other really expensive stuff I bought this week. The clearance has been quite random in some cases. I noticed that some people still have the Vtech Nitro Laptops. Those were clearanced out of my store last summer and are not back. Some people reported the Cars 2 Learn & Go item on clearance - it's still full price here. A lot of the stores are full price on the Duplo Cars 2 legos in my area... while others reported them at 75% off (lucky ducks!!!!!!!!). Also some lego sets are still full price here too. My Generation and Sesame Street stuff is still 30% off. Also the Circo wooden puzzles are still 30% off as well. I think they are kinda new markdowns but who knows. All my stores have pretty much brought out the new stuff or in the process of bringing it out cause a lot of aisles are half empty, esp in the girls toys and the infant/toddler toys and the electronic toy aisle. The toys that are boy focused and the games were pretty full still.
  4. Crap, my computer deleted another message of mine. Anyways, mine went to 75% however, I noticed on regular non-semi annual clearance some stuff only went to 70% off. I read a lot of random stores in different areas only went to 70% off... so I think it depends on test store or whatever. I must admit, I live in such a high priced Target, that even with 75% off, it doesn't really beat the 70% off at a cheaper regular priced store.
  5. Ok - my post from yesterday was deleted since my laptop flaked out on me or the browser did. I went to 3 stores yesterday and one was not 75% off yet (the first one and the closest). So I went back today and thank goodness I did. It went 75% off today. I saw the huge shelf clearer especially eyeing legos. He took ALL of the Harry Potter Legos (the same set) that were left (about 6-7 boxes). Luckily I had gotten there before him and gotten what I needed. I saw him at another store where he did the sweeping thing too. URGH. But I am a firm believer in the the early bird catches the worm so I win some and lose some. I just hate fighting over toys and when people are really rude about it. I understand everyone's frustration. So yesterday, I was able to get the infant toys that I wanted for 75% off. Laugh & Learn Tool Bench $6.24! Yay! Happy Dance. I will be returning the one that I bought at 30% off for $17.xx. I did a bunch of legos at 75% off and some at 50% off. The darn Toy Story legos are still 50% off. My DD is looking for the dinosaur (Rex). At first she said she didn't like Rex but every time she sees the TS3 logos on the toys, she says she loves the dinosaur. I picked up mostly learning toys, legos, an apron & the toy doll swing. Oh DD saw the Barbie laptop and it was like love at first sight! I spent so much at Target that I decided to get the Red Card. Too bad I didn't make this decision earlier this week on Monday when I bought the car seat (I've spent a lot more btw baby & toys this week). Except I do get rewards on my other cards too. Some things listed - not sure if these have been mentioned (my store has high regular prices so most areas will be much cheaper) - I omited items I know for sure have been mentioned before: Barbie Shop Designer Boutique $6.08 Barbie Pink Laptop $12.48 Laugh & Learn Tool Bench $6.24 Laugh & Learn CD player $4.48 FP Rocking Roll Truck $4.98 Wheelies 4 piece $3.12 Playdoh Elmo Shape & Spin $6.xx
  6. Yay - I scored the Britax Convertible Car seat that I so desperately need for $66.24 which is 55% off here. Most of the baby furniture and strollers and car seats etc were 55% off. Such a strange % off... I guess it's better than 50% off, but not as nice as 65%, 70% or 75% as others were reporting. It's a girl pattern but at that price... DH said when I called from the store, "who cares!". All the small stuff was 75% off but there was sooo little left. They had tons of stuff for someone who has an infant under 9M, but not much for me, who has a baby 9M or older. I just don't understand the toy section. It pretty much sells at 30%. Just 4 days ago, the shelves (in multiple places) had this tool bench that sings, at least 10-15 of them, today, I went to check it out and only 1 left and the box was ripped. Sheesh! It was 17.56 or something at 30% off. I picked it up since my DS really loves it. One of our friends has it. 30% off just doesn't seem all that great of a price. This is the only store I've seen it at. In fact, there was virtually NO preschool type toys left at all! There was a lot there at 30% off. And the other store, same thing... I saw a bunch of Vtech school buses at 30% and random Little People toys - and a few days later - nothing! Not one toy left. I guess they are really popular amongst mommies and babies. Still tons of Levi jeans in the men's section if one is really Tall (34 and up) or thin & short legs (29 and under). None of which are DH.
  7. Didn't see your post until now, but as someone said, the Glad Press & Seal has sailboats on it and say "summer collection" on the front. Can't miss it. The napkins have multicolored polka dots on it. Toys in my stores were a bust as well. Some toys got marked to 50% (some slip n slides that weren't part of the summer clearance), almost all good toys were still at 30% or 15% off, and some stayed at 50%. Only 2 toys were 75% off: Bakugan set (they had a ton of these) $12.48 Hot Wheels Stunt Ramp set $4.74 All of summer rang up INF and was salvaged today. We went 90% off on Tues. Pretty much a bust of a trip except at least the store has A/C :)
  8. Sooo jealous of this... :) hehe... :) Great job and great finds! Thanks for sharing with us :)
  9. I was having an internal debate with myself. It's soo hot here that A/C is a must for the little kids and myself. Heat traps really easily in our apt since we're pretty high up. Anyhow - I was debating how far to drive to get to Target - our closet is super close but doesn't have free parking so I'd have to walk with a duo stroller - way too hot to do that. I went 20 miles (35-40 minute drive including traffic one way) to a Target and got some clearance stuff but also wasted some gas. At least I got the kids out of the apt & we were in A/C. Not sure which is cheaper: 1) Using gas both ways or 2) Running our A/C for 4-5 hours during the day. :) This is what I got from the 90% off summer clearance: 2 cushions $1.49 each 1 small beverage tub $1.49 (mostly for photos of the kids than putting in beverages) 1 big beverage tub $1.99 3 Sand & yard racks $0.19 10 Boxes of Summer Fruit Snacks (across 3 stores) $0.25 each and $0.63 each 2 boxes of Sidewalk Chalk $0.19 5 Glad Press & Seal $0.29 2 Cups packages $0.29 2 Napkins $0.19 3 8 count cups $0.20 1 Dump Truck $1.29 1 bucket $0.19 4 place mats $0.19 1 design your own flip flops $0.49 (DD loves shoes & stickers) 1 Mixing Bowl $1.99 (this is supposed to have 3 bowls - but only had 1 big one left... I still got it cause I need a big one (wonder if I could have asked for more of a discount LOL)) 2 Sports Ball Sets $0.79 I only got stuff that we could use, but I also didn't find any of the water toys. Couldn't find any beach towels, lemonade, the coolers, regular napkins or the cutlery (which I also really wanted). Oh well.
  10. Update on the toys & the Legos. So I went to another Target and this one had a lot of Legos on clearance, however, none were Duplos. They did have the Megoblock version of the Thomas Train for 50% off and a few other megoblock sets but since I'm committed to Duplos, I passed. (one friend said that the quantity was terrible, and another friend said that it's great for her 1.5 yr old. It's easier than the Duplos that I got him for his bday). In terms of the regular legos - a bunch of sets were 50% off - including Harry Potter (the larger set), City, TS3 and Kingdom sets. Some of them, Harry Potter (smaller sets), Racers, the City (airplane) were still at 30% off and some were still at 15% off depending. The one lonely Prince of Persia set was 70% off at $6.38. Yikes 70% off. I grabbed one anyways since I've never seen the legos at 70 or 75% off before, so 70% is better than nothing. I feel like Legos are such highway robbery LOL - they are so expensive. The rest of toys - were mostly 30% off, some were still 15%, some were 50% off. I didn't see anything at 75% off. Baby was largely still 30% off. The furniture and booster seats were 15% off. Furniture included, dresser, changing table, and cribs. The first time I've seen any real furniture on clearance. We usually only have baby gates, strollers and carseats. I didn't see any convertible carsets which is what I need. Has anyone seen any? Also - all the toddler & baby clothes were still 30% off. A few items were 50% off. I found some toddler sneakers in size 5 (brown ones) for $4.24 (75% off) and a C9 woman's sneaker at $6.78 (75% off). Summer at this store was 50% off. Other miscellaneous - Method Hand Soap - $1.49 (50%)... Olay body wash and Gillette Clinical deordant sets at 15% off.
  11. Speaking of Legos, my DD2 is really getting in her duplos so I'd like to get her more bricks and bottoms to build with (DS is still too small to do anything with them). I did get a tub of regular legos for when they get older but I'm hoping to get some duplo legos for cheap. We got the big tub of Duplos on amazon in Dec for a good deal. Is legos.com actually a good deal? Legos are so expensive in general. I haven't seen any legos clearanced yet in my store. I will have to check the other stores. Last fall we had the Atlantis ones on clearance (only up to 50% off before salvage - most stayed at 30%). I also managed to get a small tub of general bricks at 50% off. I'm looking for Vtech toys that "help" toddlers learn but I don't think they are going on clearance. Toy clearance is so different for 2 of my stores. One went super early and the other went super late (to 75% off). Summer stuff is 30% off here but I hear that in some places it's 50% off already. Baby stuff is 30% here still as well.
  12. Mine went 90% yesterday. However, there was really nothing left except Paas, baskets, jelly beans, grass & eggs. No hidden treasures anywhere. I was in the Boston area on Saturday and I saw in front of me around 20 of the Crayolas but I had not had internet for 3 days so I had no idea they were part of Easter. I was putting them in my cart when this lady pushed me aside and swooped in all of the rest of them into her cart --- about 18 or so - URGH! I then realized they must have been super cheap. :Bang: DH tells me I always can't get in on the good stuff. Oh well... maybe another time. It always stings worse when I'm right there, but I couldn't get it. On top of that -- yesterday at our own store, somehow on the way there, DD kicked off her new white sandals (just one of them). I circled and retraced our steps over & over and I couldn't find the shoe :( -- I do not want to spend $14.99 on another pair. She has a habit of kicking off shoes but I've managed to catch them so far - and also socks but not yesterday.
  13. Our dollar spot is still at 50% so I imagine Friday is the day or Saturday? It's usually only 2-3 days at 75% before it gets salvaged. Ridiculous thing is that my area has sooo many freaking good sales/clearances that start Friday, but I'm traveling for 2 days!!! Why or why?! My store had A TON of easter eggs and grass as was the case last year. I guess I can get some more. I also got 2-pack kitchen towels $0.74 and $0.50 sticker pack. I got a Little People's 4 eggs set for $2.49 and 2 easter books for $0.99. I don't know why I keep getting the Little People's stuff... my DD doesn't really play with the people much, but I just think it's super cute. Between Tuesday - Thursday a lot of stuff disappeared so I went ahead and got them at 75% off. I'm not going to be around for the first day of 90% off so I took my chances. Oh - I also got DS a 12 month 2 piece My First Easter Carter's play set for $1.99. Wouldva been great to pay $0.79 but there's no way that size will still be around come 90% off. I couldn't find any more easter items baby stuff except a girls newborn onsie. Hehe... DS is currently wearing 6-9 M and 9M christmas onsies. Funny to see him dresses like an elf in april :)
  14. Oh darn! That makes sense... I guess it's only the Easter related items then. I hope the orange goes on clearance eventually.
  15. Thanks I will check my dollar spot tomorrow. I'm hoping to get the Sesame Street stuff - that is red dot right? DD loves Sesame street but she's not too good at keeping her books nice so it will be nice to be able to buy 2 sets so DS can have something too.
  16. URGH!! Only 50% off here. Great deal with the 75% off. thanks!
  17. Same with my store. So glad I had to do a return so i dragged myself there when DH came home early. They actually had signs up - they never have these signs up. What kind of items are green dot? I managed to find a few things that were black dot. 3 - green wired waste paper baskets, 1 plastic black step stool -- all were $0.62. They also had the black dot fleece blanket which I passed on. Thank you everyone for the 75% off stationary heads up. There were still many random thank you cards and such left. The kitchen section was very sad. Not really anything good there. There were a lot of hangers and such that were 75% off and a bunch of photo frames for 75% off at $1.99.
  18. I made my first trip to Target in 3 weeks today. I was able to grab a few things that were remaining in V-day 90% off -- 5 thin flannel throws, 2 tablecloths (DD has drawn all over our dollar store one so it's time for a change), a Marley vday book, a bunch of board books which were $0.69 each -- total spent $8.98! They had a bunch of photo frames, plates, candy hearts, cards left which I passed on. Another lady came and threw all the plates into her cart. Great save was still 30% here. I was hoping to see some Avent stuff but I knew it was probably long gone. Diapers/Pull-ups all still marked and scanned at 30% but there were reds there so I have no idea if they have dropped yet since I was there at 10:30 AM. They had a ton of diapers left & random other stuff like Method Soaps, Vitamins etc. I totally forgot to check shoes. I search the infant/tot/baby section high & low and the vday section and couldn't find any bibs or onsies or anything. DS drools so much more than DD ever did. I had to use some of DD's pink girly bibs on him. Also, Does anyone know? the Carter's target sizing -- if it says 3Ms -it's really 0-3Ms right? And 6M would be 3-6M? Thanks.
  19. OMG!!! Awesome... I was looking at the green one for DD2. Grandpa's a softie and will buy her a tricycle as it gets closer to summer but we kept looking in their area for a clearance one with no luck... last Sept & just last week. Haven't checked my own stores but what a steal for you.
  20. I agree. The only thing I know they follow is Monday for Baby/Infants and Thursday for Shoes. That's about it. I think toys was Tuesday, for example.
  21. Oh, last Monday, I drove up to my parents - along the 3.5 hr drive, I passed at least 6 Targets but I had the 2 kids and it was getting late and I couldn't stop at any of them. I finally got to 2 in their area in between the snow storms and sleet. The baby clearance was completely INF on Saturday there as well. Pretty much only 1 item left. So glad I snagged the Sit N Stand at home at 50% off. Better than full price or 30% off and I love it. I still need a convertible car seat but I guess I'll wait and see in July. After a lot of looking -- I found: 4T brown jacket for DD at 75% off $6.24 brown boots with zipper for DD at $8.98 50% off --- really hoping these go to 75% off. My dad bought a toddler snow boot in size 6 for $3.24 but it'll be too small for next year. I thought it was a great deal though. Brown boots in kids sizes $5.75 - 75% off (these dropped on Thursday) Rain Boots Zebra Print kids size $4.24 - 75% off Xhilaration Bras $1.99 - 75% off Tons of shoes were 75% off Bebe pod seat food tray $2.24 75% off Fieldcrest stuff was 75% off but they didn't have anything left except bedskirts. Btw - if anyone is looking for nice comforter sets - my mom got an awesome deal on a red satin comforter set for my sister for $33.xx (includes everything - shams, pillowcase, comforter etc). It's so funny to see all the swimsuits and sandals that have been put out for spring and replaced all the clearanced items cause it is sooo not spring weather here.
  22. Thank you! I saw check it out tomorrow hopefully and see. Now if only the baby boys "suit sets" would go to 80-90% off. :)
  23. I agree with lovestoshopCA -- see if you can report them to the store manager. And I understand your frustration too. I posted something like this (also happening in my store, workers who were on the clock and not on a break - and me too having worked in retail before) and woah - there were definitely people who flamed me saying the same thing and couldn't I have some compassion. A lot of customers are unemployed too - so it's hard to comment who's more in need or deserving. Anyhow, rules are rules -- I think there's a good reason why they have them in place. Even though I agree that workers & customers alike should have equal chance at getting stuff. I took DD with me to Target tonight and we went through most of the aisles, except for men's & women's clothing (too much of a mess!). So I totally forgot to check the bras -- anyone seen a discounted nursing bra to 75% off? The toy section still had a lot of games left at 75% off and some star wars stuff or something. I saw someone take the Handy Mandy that I put back. It was opened so I wouldn't have been able to gift it. Still lots of the big items left - circo train table, the generation doll thingy. But nothing I wanted. I did, however, get a few items in the baby section left over - 1 pack of sleep n play (love these for DS), Gerber bottles, a Eddie Bauer car mirror to see the baby from the front seat. No big ticket items on clearance there at all anymore. I only saw it at 30% before. Shoes - they had tons of girls ballet shoes that are shiny and a bunch of toddler sneakers with the laces for $4.98 (50% off only). No winter boots at all Entire aisles of bath items are 30%. Flannel sheets are still 30%. Fieldcrest still at 30%. Hefty Cups and Dixie Plates at 15% off and trial size Lady Speed Stick and Right Guard were $0.70 each (30%).
  24. Mine only had additional 50% off clearance items signs and everything was pretty picked through already. I didn't see anything about an additional amount if you used their Card but then again, I didn't ask since I don't have their card anymore. They had a lot of kids clothing (shirts) for $1.99 each (6 yr-16). Thanks for the heads up on this. I stopped in and was able to get some stuff that I really liked in their lines (particularly the knit products for women). Got some foldover skirts which I already own for $3.24. A short black dress for $1.24, knit pants for $2.97 and leggings for $1.99. They had some much random stuff. A lot of the items that I got were from Jan 10 and Apr 10. So I guess they've been around a long time already. Also got cute boys infant soft boots for $3. I find that their infant/toddler section is more expensive in clearance than in girls/boys & womens/mens.
  25. Thanks! How much were they approximately? For pea coats.
