We spent more at Kohl's last year than everywhere else combined. The 15% off coupon, along with the 10 back for every 50 spent in certificates, we hauled over $350.00 in goods out the door, got a mail in rebate for the portable DVD player, and had 70 off the next purchase. It was crazy but worth it.

In this order: Meijer-by far the best prices, especially Thanksgiving Day CVS-same as poster above, lots of extra bucks to use Kohls-Spend the most here Macys-like to doorbusters and extra discounts Walgreen-candy, soda, and freebies TRU-never know what will pop up WalMart-usually one or 2 things to buy Target-depends on the crowd, never has ad mdse in stock

What sales does Macy's run for BF and/or throughout the holidays?
dswright replied to mitchandalisha's topic in 2006
Macy's ran MANY 10 off 25 coupons in the local papers last year between Christmas and New Years. Combine that with additional off clearance and wee filled our closets for next to nothing. We were buying the layered tees (t shirt with long sleeves underneath popular with the boys right now), 4 for 15.00 after coupon and discount. Much cheaper than even Wal Mart. Most of these ads were only good on Tues and Wed only, so check your paper daily. -
Another cash back credit carder here. Paid off with the extra pay in December (5 pays in the month instead of 4) Why not get cash back or an extra discount if you can pay in full and never pay interest.

Do you use your Christmas bonuses strictly for BF?

25 bucks to Kroger. Combined with double coupons and sales it is worth over 50 to me.:) -
usually on weekends is correct-but have not seen any lately.

Found a 10' round 30" deep swimming pool in the toy section at Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY today-this is the blow up variety with pump--regular 79.99-marked down to 9.48!!!!! No signage. nothing, just 2 pools sitting there. Thank god for scanners. I left one for the taking.

I did very little shopping at the discounters this year-as opposed to the past. Only 1 thing was bought at WM, 1 at KM, and nothing at Target. The midrange stores like Kohls and Penneys had higher quality items at comparable-if not lower prices this year. Meijer got quite a bit out of my pocketbook also (video games BOGO 60% off). Macys 10 off 25 helped out too. The discounters are good for people who want to do "1 stop shopping"-there is nothing wrong with that. I think that consumers more and more are looking for more bang for their buck-and when Penneys sends 10.00 certificates in the mail on top of half off ads-you cannot go wrong. Kohls repeated ran things half to 2/3 off-plus a $10.00 certificate for $50.00 purchase. Christmas this year meant more gifts for everyone at a much lower cost than years past.

Same here-will look at the ads first. kaufmann's had $10.00 certificates in the paper last year and we loaded up!! Not much we need here though.
-
Don't forget to use the reward dollars from last week's purchase-the $10.00 received for each 50.00 spent. Make the sale even better.

Heading to our birth "home" in Ohio-weather dependant. It's only 300 miles away. Will be back on the 26th and home for New years. Miss the family but like the fact we are 300 miles awaynot as much drama.

Didn't get a Walgreen ad in my Lexington, KY paper, but did receive it in the Cincinnati Enquirer-strange that I cannot get ads in my local paper and have to buy one from a city 70 miles away to get my ads. The coupons were not in the Herlad Leader-but were in the Enquirer-also in the special Kroger coupon section-a coupon is printed for 1.50 off the same deodorant. I have had no problem using the Kroger coupons at Meijer or others in the past.

I was going to suggest the dollar store -but that is too expensive for the inlaws gifts. We found sand art sets and all kinds of other goodies at JoAnn last month for .25 and .50 cents. Good enough for the seemingly thousands of nieces and nephews we have running around. We bought lotions at kohls last February for .65-that goes to the sister in laws. Christmas picture fames also were bought at Kohls last Feb for .85-that will go to the adults.

Until I read the whole report-I thought it may have been a combo Friday and Saturday number. The 2 main shopping areas around here were both beyond parking capacity between 7 and noon on Friday. The mall lot was overflowing as people were jumping curbs and parking on grass-others were parking in church lots across the street and crossing a 7 land road to get in the mall. I revisited those areas again on Saturday and would say that those same areas had less traffic than a normal Saturday. Another issue is that almost everyone is reporting something they wanted and did not get because it was out of stock. If the stores had items in stock that we wanted, their sales would have gone up proportionately.
-
In the past most places had Saturday only sales-not today. Only CC and JCP had Sat only ads, neither were very good. Had to go to Meijer for groceries and the shopping areas here are a ghost town as of 11:00

Planned on 500-spent around 350. Got everything on the list plus a few video games not planned at Meijer(BOGO 60% off)
-
Kohl's was VERY organized here. I liked the 1 line for 6 checkout system to make the wait time fair to everyone. All items in stock except the sewing machine. Wal Mart had good quantities late morning. Meijer had everything on the list-even a good selection of video games at 11:00. Target was the pits-NOTHING in stock.
-
Our Goody's opened much earlier than 5 AM, but not sure as I got there at 10 til for the $10.00 gift card.
-
Target as they had nothing in stock. 10 out of 11 items on the list were gone by late morning. Have a gift card to spend and cannot find anything to spend it on.
-
Less than 10 cars in the lot-2 checkouts open in Georgetown, KY. The cashiers were standing around talking to each other as nobody was in the store. Got Crash Bandicoot GB, Pepsi and Ritz Crackers--still plenty of all remaining. This was around 8:15.

Only a few flurries in the Lexington, KY area. The snow usually stops at the Ohio River. We cancelled a trip to visit family in Canton, OH due to expected snows.

Please do not take all of the papers form a box!! That person is trying to make a living from delivery and has sacrificed their holiday to service you. Have some consideration. Most paper carriers only make $30-40 per day, if that. Stealing 20 papers from a box at .50 costs them 10.00. :wife: If you cannot afford paying .50 for each paper for a 10.00 off coupon, how in the world can you afford to shop at Macy's anyways!! I have worked in management at 3 different papers and have personally caught theft in vending boxes at 2. Would you rather spend 5.00 to have 10 Macy's coupons or spend the holiday with Bubba in the big house eating bread and water flovored turkey. From what I hear, Macy's is not having the coupons tomorrow anyway.
