Or a Pawn shop... they usually have some good deals. I buy almost all of my dvds from a pawn shop where i live because they are only $2 a piece and i search until i find movies that are practically brand new. I save a lot of money on movies this way.

Chocolate Holiday Bears My family does not like gingerbread for gingerbread people so when i found this recipe that uses chocolate i was so excited. the kids love to decorate these they are so much fun! What You Need 3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding 1 egg 1-3/4 cups flour 1 tsp. baking soda 3 squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Decorations: assorted small candies, raisins, sprinkles, colored sugars, JET PUFFED Mini Marshmallows Make It HEAT oven to 350°F. BEAT first 4 ingredients in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Mix flour and baking soda; gradually add to pudding mixture, beating well after each addition. Shape into ball. ROLL out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch-thickness. Cut out dough using 4-inch bear-shaped cookie cutter; place, 2 inches apart, on greased baking sheets. Reroll scraps and use to cut additional cookies. Decorate with small candies, raisins or sprinkles for eyes, mouth and buttons, pressing decorations lightly into dough to secure. BAKE 12 to 14 min. or until slightly firm. Let stand on baking sheets 2 min.; remove to wire racks. Cool completely. MELT chocolate; spread onto bottom halves of bears for the pants or skirts. Ok so I always go way overboard at christmas time for my two children. They both end up getting tons of stuff from me and then tons more things from everyone in the family too. After christmas their new things quickly lose their luster and are thrown in the toy box barely ever seeing the light of day! So this year I am wanting to cut back and was wondering about how many items do you try to stick to for each child?

#1 - Maybe if we lay here real still they wont notice us. #2 - Dude those $5 snuggies and zhu zhus are so ours, totally worth the camping and 3 day wait! #3 - I will randomly select one person from this crowd to go inside alone and go shopping first everyone else doesnt have a problem with that right?!

Thanksgiving Day Ads my kids ask for tons of toys good deals or go broke

Mine would have to be at walmart last year. Our Walmart stays open 24 hours so you can get there whenever you want and get in line for whatever item you are there to get. Well i wanted to get my DS a portable DVD player they had on sale last year. I asked an employee where the line for this would be and she took me to where our old layaway dept. was. I was sitting there reading a book and a manger came by and asked what i was waiting for and i told her. She then told me that i was in the wrong spot for this item and escorted me over to the crafts section and told me to start the line there. by this time more and more people were waiting in line with me. Well 5am rolls around and they start bringing out the items for people to start tearing into, but no DVD players ever came. We see people rushing ot the old layaway section where i originally was and coming out with the Dvd players we had waited all night for! We all ran over there and cut in the front of the line and they thankfully gave us our Dvd players too.

what a cute idea!!! love this one!!!

Its the most wonderful time of the year!!!

i too set a budget for each person, and that is what i spend on them. I try to stick with things that i know each person would really enjoy so whether one person gets two things with their 25.00 and another person only gets one gift they will both be happy with what they receive.
-
I also have made out my list and put a budget for each person. I have started letting my kids go to the toy isles at the store when we go and asked them what kinds of things they would be interested in for christmas so i can start getting some ideas for them. Wish i would have started a christmas account, but that is gonna be a definite for next year for sure!

nicole20 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
Are you kidding... I live for black friday! Everyone in my family thinks i am crazy for getting out in all the mayhem every year but it really puts me in the christmas mood and i love when i get a good deal! I can't wait til the ads start coming out so i can start getting gifts together for the people on my list. -
I am so excited to be back here with all my fellow black fridayers this year!! I too am getting ready to start my christmas shopping as i have a long list. i am wondering if any of you have any good ideas for my DD who will be 2 years old this christmas. I have a DS who is seven and i have only had to buy toys for boys so this is all new to me as to what kinds of things to get a girl who is so young. Any ideas would be helpful!
