I live in the midwest which means we need humidifiers in the winter and dehumidifiers in the summer. I have always used the Holmes brand humidifiers. I always start with a new filter,and that usually lasts me the whole winter. No one in my family is allergic/sensitive though so we can get away with the bare minimum.

Got mine last week too and it's good until Dec.24. Going Christmas shopping at Penney's!

I've had a small pink and purple tree in my girls' room for the past couple of years. It makes for a great night light! Make sure you take pix of the "girl's" tree- I bet you love it and think of the memories you all will have :) After all, Traditions have to start somewhere!

Probably like many of you, I have lots and lots of storage bins with all my Christmas stuff in them. It seems like each year, after Christmas (but especially during the summer garage sale season) I buy many things for the next year's Christmas. It's like Christmas morning in November when I start opening up Totes and saying, "Ooooh! I forgot I bought this!" My question is: do the rest of you do a mix of Old and New decorations each year? Or do you put out the same things you always have? I pretty much like to stay with some of my old traditional decorations (the kids will remind me that, "we have to put out such-and-such decoration or it wouldn't be Christmas!") but like to add at least one new thing each year. I can't wait to see how it all looks this year!

I sure remember the fiasco at one of my WM over the iTunes cards. Something about the system wouldn't let them be discounted and I don't know how they worked it out,but I got 4 $25 cards for $70 (which I prefer to the $50 ones). I still have some left

Holiday Cranberry Ambrosia Grind 1 cup fresh cranberries and mix with 1 cup sugar.Let stand all night in refrigerator. Next day add 1 can crushed pineapple,drained (approx.2 cups) and 2 cups mini marshmallows. Whip 1 pt. whipping cream (or use Cool Whip). Add cranberry mixture to whipping cream and fold together slowly. Add chopped nuts to top,if you want.

That's the first thing I checked this morning and "no go" here. I need those reading glasses to go to fifty cents and the sooner the better lol!

Last year, candy started at 30% off Nov.1 but the rest of Halloween was 50%. Within a week it was 90% and gone. They are so ready to fully set for Christmas that they want the black and orange stuff gone already!

Tons left here at my closest Target,so YAY! I need lots of candy-they had several aisles and the back wall left as of this morning. I'll check back on Saturday or Sunday just to make sure it's worth a trip later next week.

I have been collecting little things I got for next-to-nothing and am thinking I might put them in the 2 liter pop bottles that was quite a popular idea here a few years ago. Does anyone have the actual pictures of those bottles? I remember how to make them,but wanted to see them again just to make sure. TIA

12 years ago on Thanksgiving,I traveled 300 miles to get home after my father's funeral the day before. The one thing I noticed was that NO restaurants were open along the way,but I mostly went thru small towns. We had to wait 2 1/2 hours to eat in a larger city. Very few gas stations were open either. Things have probably changed since then though.

You'll need to check those rolls to make sure you have enough. The dollar rolls typically have much less paper on them,than say,the ones you would get at Walgreen's or Target. Those smaller rolls are great for when you don't want to spend a lot on paper but I just don't want you to run out of paper while you're wrapping prezzies! Many times, Walgreen's will run a Buy1 Get 2 free deal on Thanksgiving or Black Friday. Those are the big rolls with sturdy paper that doesn't rip made by Ambassador I think. HTH :)

I am just now seeing this thread but I noticed some things at the Glenbrook Target the other day in the purse section (there were belts,shoes,and little girl clothes). I just happened to be at Target the day the items came out and it was crazy for awhile, but I managed to get 2 things as gifts and they were VERY much appreciated. Lol,I had no clue about them either and had I not been watching HLN that morning,I would have walked on by. I think some of the things are cute though.
