Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2010
emilygracesmom replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Thanks to all of you guys for posting your finds. I owe it all to you guys that I found 2 of the AA's as well as 2 of the AAA's this evening. With 2 kids, something always needs batteries, so these will come in extremely handy. -
Yes it is a long document. However, just push CTRL+F and search for the city or state that you are looking for. Just a lil tip so you guys don't sit there scanning the pages yourself. HTH

Best camera for a child (6yo)
emilygracesmom replied to keferretti's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I love Kodak cameras for their user friendly features. I bought the Nikon that Target had on sale on Black Friday and within 2 weeks when I would try to turn it on it said "lens error", so I took it back and bought another Kodak. I get good picture quality and I've never had battery issues. I'm on my third Kodak (I keep upgrading MP). I let my DD5 have my last one and she LOVES it. So if it's easy to use and low price range that you're looking for, I think Kodak is a great idea for that age range. -
Our Lowe's is still at 75% with virtually nothing left. There were a few containers of shatterproof ornaments, some tree storage bags, and a couple of "village" type items, but absolutely no trees to be found. I might check the other Lowe's in the area, but I don't have high hopes.

Best Christmas Tree Deals?
emilygracesmom replied to amybow's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I'm looking for a new tree too. Anybody know what % Lowe's is yet? They usually have really nice trees. The tree I'm using now was a Lowe's after Christmas clearance deal. It was a $300 tree I got for $75. But it has seen better days and it's time for a new one. I'll probably be going there first thing in the morning to see how much they've got off now. -
I got this email as well.

Which camera on Amazon today?
emilygracesmom replied to VTmommy's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I don't buy anything that says Fuji. They are the reason Kodak products are not sold in the asian markets. So if we can't sell over there, then I'm not buying theirs over here. -

Anything that can be wrapped is wrapped. Things like bikes, power wheels, the big radio flyer bouncy horse, etc. are assembled sitting by the tree.

This is true. They have no incentive to make anything better or more customer friendly until somebody gets hurt or dies. Just like the whole Wal-Mart thing last year.

Our store was RIDICULOUS!!! We got there a few minutes after 10:00 and were probably about 100 or so back. Which was fine, because I was not after a zhu zhu. By 11:00 or so there were over 500 in line. About 11:30 people started standing around the entrance. People in line started chanting "Back of the line, back of the line". There was no police or any type of security presence at all. The people in line were getting angry that nobody was doing anything to stop the line rushers. About 10 minutes till 12, the local police showed up by sending 2 guys in a car to do a drive-by. They never got out of their car or anything. At 12:00 store employees were standing at the door, but would not open it. Finally about 12:15, three managers cracked open the door and started letting people that were lined up against the building in 5 or 10 at a time. We finally got in the store about 12:30, got what we went after and then proceeded to stand in a check-out line that was forever long. They had red tape on the floor as a line queue for both electronics and general merchandise. People had no idea which line was which and were getting mad. I know the store manager really well (she was my sunday school teacher as a child), and when we finally got to check-out (about 2:30) she was standing there. I asked her if I could make a suggestion and she said sure. I said "Next year, why don't you guys use different colored tape for the different lines." She said "That's a great idea. I'll put it on my suggestion list." Another manager walked up and said "I heard your idea and I think it's a wonderful idea." This is not rocket science. A little common sense with the tape and having just a couple of security officers, police, or even employees in reflective vests outside would have calmed a lot of the insanity that was present. I won't be doing Toys R Us on Black Friday again.

We got them. About 4:15 while we were standing in line, then guy came down the line with a buggy full of them, passing them out and also handed us a store map. They are very cute and great to keep in the car.
