MathGirl replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
We picked up one of the HP Camera/Printers at Target. I've seen a few reviews and they aren't good. -

Hallmark was playing Christmas music this weekend. They had their ornament debut this past weekend. I haven't been in this week so I am not sure if they are still playing it.

Please thank your Sister for the work she does. We always do Angel Tree/Giving Trees. They are my favorite! This year we started the planning early and purchased toys at Target when they were 75% off. So far we will be giving gifts to 7 or 8 children. I'm sure I will find more gifts to give, I wouldn't be surprised if we give gifts to 10 children. We choose Angels from the Angel Tree at DH's office. Last year they were children from a teenage mothers home. And we had three children that we gave gifts to. Clothes and toys, we chose the names then bought the gifts. This year we found soo many great gifts to give and realized if we purchased them when we did we would be able to give gifts to more children. So we will match ages with gifts when the Angel tree comes out.

Target has them too! -
Our tree is filled with homemade ornaments and cute ornaments that we have purchased. I have a mini lei on the tree from when we lived in Hawaii. A daffodil, because they are my Grandmas favorite flower. A fish I made from facial tissue and "tie dyed" with markers when I was 9 and we lived in Alabama. (22years ago) A construction paper angel that I made in 1st grade. It is truly amazing the history on our tree. Each time we pull out an ornament we always comment about where the ornament came from, how old it is and how amazing it is that it lasted soo long. (especially the tissue fish:D)

This looks like fun. I knew I should have registered an account on Gotta Deal when I first started looking in January. Have fun!

I hide stuff in my closet on the floor in bags and then drape the clothes on top. I also hide stuff in my art room, even though my husband keeps his clothes in the closet in there. Right now I have a Icey Cream machine for him (Target clearance 50% off) that is up against a wall covered with fabric. The box is huge and he has not noticed it yet.

Very cute! I'll have to check the B&M store too! -
When she asks you this year, consider saying "Yes, I'll pick up those item, but I charge by the hour." At least 10 hours in the cold + dealing with the crowds + and the many hours that you shop. I think $20 per hour is at least fair.

Make sure to have some containers for them to take leftovers home. (Gladware) I always do this when my husbands friends come over for dinner. Maybe you can do a test run with the turkey. It is very easy to cook, but can feel intimidating if you haven't cooked one before. Be sure to pick up a meat thermometer (the pop up ones in the turkey aren't always accurate) Mashed potatoes are easy to make and inexpensive so you can make a lot. All the guys I know LOVE mashed potatoes. Have fun! Try not to stress about it and even see if any of the guys like to cook and ask if he'd like to help. My brother is in the Army and loves to help out in the kitchen when he visits, because he can't cook in his barracks.

I still have the original DS and when the DS lite came out, I was afraid it would become obsolete, but it hasn't. I think as long as they stick with the same game format, which it sounds like they are, then everything will be fine. On the upside, with the new DS coming out in April in the States then you will see accessories like cases, skins and bags for the DS lite go on clearance. Similar to what is happening with all the old ipod Nano accessories, once the new Nano appeared in stores alot of the old Nano stuff went on clearance.

I think this is cool. Timbuk2 Build Your Own Bag. You build your own bag, Messenger bag, Backpack or Tote. The bags start at; Messenger- Extra Small $90.00 - Extra Large $130.00 Laptop Messenger- Small $130.00 - Large $150.00 Lex Pack - Medium $125.00 - Extra Large $175.00 Cargo Tote - Medium $85.00 Eula - Extra Small $75.00 http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/products/bagbuilder It isn't an inexpensive gift, but it is pretty neat to see the bags come together. I've had one of the Cargo Totes for over 3 years now and it has held up wonderfully. And if it gets dirty I just toss it in the washing machine! -
Vera Bradley Fall Outlet Sale - first week of October
MathGirl replied to tlklcox's topic in Offline Hot Deals
If you are just looking for bags, they had a bunch at the Marshals and TJ Maxx near me. -
Check a thrift store or a discount store like Marshals or Ross Dress for Less and pick out an over the top prom or bridesmaid dress (you may even already have the bridesmaid dress) Add a Tiara from the halloween costume area and you could be Prom Queen, Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Universe, or even Carrie! (you'll need some fake blood for that one) Your date can wear a black tuxedo type pants, a white tuxedo shirt and black bow tie (may be able to find shirt and bow tie at Micheals Arts and Crafts) Have him loosen the bow tie, untuck his shirt and carry an empty champagne bottle and he can be your Prom date or the Pageant Judge that you seduced to win the title.

I think many if not most of us would have thrown the board game back at her too! I think its a natural response. Somebody throws something at you, then you throw something back.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate it a great deal!
