  1. When you sell at Flea Markets do you file taxes on your sales? I know we do when we sell on Ebay. Is it the same with Flea Markets? I need to clear out some stuff and I don't feel like using Ebay. Some items are large and/or heavy and I don't want to hassle with shipping.
  2. :holiday16Less than 90 days until Christmas! Which means anything we buy now for Christmas gifts will be returnable after Christmas!
  3. I had been wondering about those cameras. Thanks for the heads up!
  4. I'm currently in school, but have thought about merchandising before and during the holidays to make some extra money. My husband works full time and then some at a job he loves while I work on my degree. He just wants me to focus on school, and I do, but I would like to buy gifts for him with money I've earned. He believes that the money he earns is ours, and I appreciate and love him for it.
  5. Like a lot of people our list grows each year. We buy for (I do the shopping and wrapping DH does the working and supporting:gdinlove:) DH My Mom My Dad My Brother and his wife(Newlyweds) Niece (8) (Brothers wifes daughter, who he will be adopting) Niece (21) (Brothers wifes daughter, who he will not be adopting, she has a great relationship with her Dad) His Dad and his wife. His Grandma and Grandpa His middle Brother and wife Nephew(11) Nephew(2) His youngest Brother and wife Nephew(6 mos) My Best Friend His Assistant His student assistants (6) His volunteers (3) Angel Tree gifts (7) Wow:cheesy: I didn't realize we gave gifts to so many people. This year there are four new family members. My brothers family and his youngest brothers son. I'm not quite sure how much we spend. I always find great deals. When giving gifts to the inlaws I try to go by the value of the gift, instead of how much I paid for it. Most family members do not realize how great the deals are that I find. For example I decided to give one of my SIL's a certain cookbook that was released this year, the book is List Price $24.95 and sometimes on sale for $17.95 at the bookstore, but I found it at Marshals for $6.99! I LOVE finding deals like this. A great gift at a great price. You just can't beat that. And its why I try to shop early:yup:
  6. University of Wisconsin Badgers? You could decoupage their logo on to the tiles and then spray with a sealer. If you sew you could make some pillows for him out of felt.
  7. Checked on the Tent, my store has it, but its still full price. And the Hanna Montana Beach towels are still only 30% off. I did find. ### Playtex Gentle Glide 18 ct Super Tampons now $2.78 Orig $3.99 ### 080010039 Pink Designer Faceplate and Holster for the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphing Calculator Orig $7.99 Now $3.98 ### 086022193 Hanna Montana Surf Shop Hangout (Toys) Orig $29.99 Now $14.98 50% off ### 202090468 Hanna Montana Silver Charm Necklace with Guitar Orig $4.99 Now $2.48
  8. Thanks for all the responses. To respond to some of the responses. *The gifts have been recieved. I always get signature confirmation to be sure. *I wasn"t sure if it was appropriate to ask about the gifts or not. *We can't visit during Christmas. My husbands schedule is very busy from August until January (100 hour weeks) and we live in Colorado and they are in Indiana.
  9. For the past 3-4 years we have purchased gifts for my husbands middle brother, at first just for him and his son and now also for his wife of 1 year and their toddler. My issue is that we have never recieved a thank you for the gifts, let along a gift in return. I don't give gifts to recieve gifts, but a thank you would be nice or at least some type of acknowledgement ex. "Kory really liked the Nike NCAA licensed football you sent" I really don't think my husband will want to stop sending Christmas gifts to his brother. And I understand, in a way. However he doesn't shop for them, I do and it is a bit frustrating shopping for someone who doesn't seem to appreciate their gifts. (or my beautiful gift wrapping ) Does anyone else have this situation? How do you handle it? TIA Have a great day!
  10. My husband keeps asking me if any "Crazy Day After Thanksgiving" ads are out yet:rolleyes: I told him "No, not yet" and he said "Thats Crap!":lmao:

    Store Policies

Last year I emailed Target about their Price Adjustment Policy for BF and they said it was the same as it is year round. I printed out my email just in case I had any problems with the policy in-store, thankfully I didn't have any problems. When asking questions about policies I prefer email since you can print out their response. I was able to purchase a few BF items off of Circuit City's website last year to pick up at their store. It was great I just walked up to the Customer Service desk and they had everything ready.
  12. I'm not getting one, but my husband LOVES his HD Professional Cameras and will be getting at least 4 more this year.
  13. I will have to check on the Camp Rock one at Target. I wanted to get my Niece(8) the ipod shuffle ( I love mine, just clip it on and it stays in place when I go on my runs) But my brother vetoed the idea (party pooper:D) Hopefully the Camp Rock Mix Stick will work for her and for that price if it does end up lost it isn't as big a deal.
  14. It is soo frustrating when one store has an item on clearence, but another doesn't.
  15. One of my favorite traditions is Christmas shopping with my Mom. We have a great relationship and have soo much fun together. We live about 1500miles away so when she comes to visit before Christmas, we shop. She will be here October 8th and leave around November 9th and we will do shopping then. When ever one of us is stuck on what to get someone, it always helps to have someone to help you come up with ideas. I am super excited because my Mom and Dad are also going to try to come out for Christmas! Another favorite tradition is putting up our tree. DH and I make hot chocolate and have Christmas movies playing while we decorate our tree. He puts on the lights and then we pick out our ornaments, a mix of old and new, homemade and store bought. Our tree never looks the same, which I love and it is always so pretty. On Christmas Eve we stuff each others stockings. My Mom made our stockings when we were kids and she made a new set for my DH and I when we got married. They are red with embroidery and even include fabric from clothes I wore when I was little. They have our names on them and some of our favorite things embroidered on them. Snowflakes, Christmas lights, a football for my husband and a doll for me. I LOVE our Stockings!
  16. Thanks! This will be perfect for my Brother and his family! I will look for it today
  17. There is a new Best Buy opening up near us. So it should be interesting to see how many people will be there. I won"t be there because I refuse to spend my day waiting outside all day and night by myself with people I don't know.
  18. That is so frustrating! It would have been so much easier to get your husband on board if other family members agreed with you. I guess the best thing if he doesn't agree is to come up with an inexpensive couples gifts. For some of my DH's family we purchased Starbucks coffee and mugs of their favorite sports teams for them. For the single family memebers maybe a starbucks gift card or gas card. Good luck!
  19. I have picked up a few items already, mostly small pieces and stocking stuffers. I haven't really figured out a budget yet. I have 4 new people to purchase for this year. My new SIL, her DD(8) and DD(21) and my new nephew(5mos) I think my budget will be pretty much the same or slightly higher. I always find good deals when I shop and no one has anything expensive on their lists.
  20. I have a Jansport rolling bookbag. I've used it for 2 semesters of heavy Algebra books and huge notebooks along with my laptop and it still looks as good as new. I found my bag at Marshalls for $29.99. I have seen them on sale at Office Depot. Also check Ross Dress for Less and TJ Maxx. The wheels roll very well and goes over bumps and up and down the stairs easily.
  21. For a Dad gift does he enjoy cooking or bbq? They could make him an apron or just decorate on. They have blank canvas aprons at Michaels, Joannes and Hobby Lobby. Does he have tools? You could buy a tool organizer that you put in a bucket and let the kids decorate the bucket with paints. How about a picture frame? with a favorite "Dad and Me" photo. This can be made from just about anything. Or one of those fleece blankets were you cut fringe and tie the fringe in knots. http://www.projectlinus.org/patterns/pdf/NoSewFB.pdf
  22. Thank you! I was so excited to post I forgot to format it correctly. Have a great day!
  23. Wow 50 people! that is a lot of time and money. Try talking to your inlaws and other family members they probably feel the same way you do. If your husband is still hesitant, try itemizing everything. Figure out average gift price, wrapping paper and greeting card costs and also the cost for your time (and aggrevation;)) say $10.00 per hour and show him the total. He may sing a diffrerent toon when he realizes the actual cost. My husbands work schedule is soo crazy from now until the middle of January so I do all of the Christmas shopping (luckily for just a few people) as much as I love to shop I would not be happy having to shop for 50 or more people. It kinda takes the fun out of it. It especially takes the fun out of it if you don't feel the gift recipent appreciates your gift. Good Luck!
  24. Will have to check the Hanna and Camp Rock t-shirts. My brother got married in August and will be adopting his wifes 8 year old daughter! She is a HUGE Hanna fan and Loves the Jonas Brothers. Her birthday is 3 days after Christmas and I have already begun shopping for her.
  25. If you are concerned about carrying a large amount of cash. Maybe you can use a credit card and then after all the charges have posted to your account (2-3 days) You pay the entire amount off. This way if your card is lost or stolen you can report it and you won't have lost $500 I rarely use our credit card, but I will use it on electronics purchases and then pay it off right away because most cards cover your purchase with an extended warranty.
