...my soon to be 13 year old wants a cell phone with unlimited minutes....dream on I say!...helost last summers pool pass in less than a week...I figure a cell phone would only last a couple of days! LOL

....my re-gifts usually go to the local shelter or to Salvation Army...that way I don't run the risk of my gift being recognized later my the orginal 'gifter"

YOu can make a 12 month calendar pretty easily and cheaply too.....take legal size paper.....find a 2006 calendar (one that shows ALL the months at at a time) enlarge it to fit the lower 1/2 to 1/3 of the page.....uding double stick tape, randomly add pictures in the top third....take to copy store and request a PHOTO color copy of the sheet (should run about $2)....THEN have them laminate the photo copy sheet...punch a hole in the top to hand and there you go....a GREAT, USEABLE gift for the grandparents...etc....plus you can return the photos to your album when you are don because you don't damamge them when you copy them...totoal cost for the claendars is way under what WALGREENS charges and this one is easily personalised with kids signatures and such!

I have "picture" prnaments I have made with quilting photo transfer paper and small muslin "pillow like" ornaments. I also use red and green paper graland my oldest helped make when he was 4...(he's now 13 and it's looking a bit wrinkly)....I also add some crystaline candy canes and other handmade ornaments.....a pretty old fashioned tree but we love it....will post a pic whenever I am smart enough to figure out HOW!

hubby,....otherwise known as "scrooge" throws a fit if I use more than 500 count lights outside...he thinks they run up the electric bill too much so I settle on outlining the porch with some icicle ones and wrapping some HUGE boxes in foil paper as if they were gifts...adding some ribbon and stacking them on the front porch bench......simple but it works for me and it looks good during the day too!

...our TARGET had 5 or 6 different LEAPPAD books (with cassettes) on sale for $6.00 each....it seems they are supposed to be discontinuing some of the titles.....obviously the titles would differ according to your area and store but I was told some stores have the ones that are Spanish/English titles for as little as $5.00 a title....I figure these willl be good for my son who is just learning Spanish in school....a little fun learning along with a good story! Happy shopping! P.S.....I'll post the titles I found as soon as I dig out the bag....I can't remember where I stashed it when I got home this morning!

....I was in our local mega mall today and I heard some women talking about gottadeal.com......they were going on and on about how cool it was and such...then one of them said to the other one...."what was that website again, I can never remember it when I need it!"....I thought I was going to choke on my "Mommy milkshake" from STARBUCKS it was so funny..... anyway, does anyone else have a funny story about gottadeal.com being discussed in a B&M store?!?...or am I the onlywierdo here?!?
