  1. Front or Back: "No, your friend CAN'T cut here." Front or Back: "Deals are best when had by me." Front or Back: "Memorize your ads"
  2. ya i was thinking the same thing. it is funny how most of the time line waiting can be annoying, but we probably spend an entire years worth of line waiting in one day without any complaints. or at least that of a few disney trips.
  3. I'm in for 12+ hours and I'm actually surprised this is the minority. Last year I spent close to 30 hours.
  4. cell phone http://www.theslanket.com/ fold-up sports chair credit cards/id coffee snacks back-pack with ads & lists laptop and wifi detector & pdfs of all ads advil/cold medicine/lotion ya it seems a bit much, but really if i don't have it i regret it.
  5. yes, this is so true. last year at compusa i made friends with this group of 6 guys and we talked about what we were getting and other stores and deals etc. in the store we all kind of knew what each other was looking for and one was nice enough to bring me some blank dvds after i was already in the checkout, i didn't even ask, he just knew that i was looking for them. (and no, i'm not a female). the buddy system is the best thing for BF. especially if you have a network of people that are at multiple stores simultaneously.
  6. typically comes out on wednesday. never had a problem. i live in the city so if there was ever a time where local shops ran out i would drive to the orlando sentinel newspaper building and simply get it there.
  7. if they come with, even staying in the car then no problem. but for someone to flat out not be involved other than saying 'buy me this please' - sorry, but no way. too busy for that, not enough time. ;P buying gifts for others of course is seperate completely.
  8. ooo, i like it. orlando PRIME is opening at midnight. i'll show up after CompUSA (if they do a midnight madness run again).
  9. a 19" for $100 would be sweet.
  10. i bring all the ads of the places i'm going to for the day inside my backpack. typically bring only the cards i'll be using along with my id. no cash, no wallet. i like the OPs idea of the binder and 3-hole punch, i might do that this year as in the past my ads would get all messed up over time. instead of circling the purchase items though, i make a printout of all the items with their costs and categorize them by how important they are and group them by store with first store being the first i will visit, etc.
  11. last year compusa had a midnight madness sale on the eve of BF. so i got there at about 5pm thanksgiving night, was third in line. after i got my goods went right to the next store at about 1am and just waited in line until it opened at 7am. went to a couple more stores and ended up at home around 11am. i had a ton of loot and it was a lot of fun.
  12. staples is my number one. i've been first in line three years in a row. i never see deals to justify the mobs at walmart or 2+day wait at bestbuy. circuitcity might be a decent place, but the one by my house gets rushed when the doors open and they didn't do vouchers last year - i heard some horror stories. after that i goto sears or ace hardware and just cruise around.
  13. my first year out i was so excited i just jumped out of bed and forgot pretty much everything. i was in 30degree weather (i know, not THAT cold to you northerners, but im in florida) with just a light undershirt and my pj bottoms. i've got things a bit under control since then and just wear everyday clothing. i bring a sleeping bag though and wrap up before laying down in my reclining fold-out chair.
  14. coffee in a travel mug is a must. i always eat light the night before and pick something up between stores in the morning. either that or whatever is being cooked at the house i ask for someone to bring me some while i wait in line. fill the back-pack up with snacks like pretzels and junk is always a good idea.
  15. it's been a tradition ever since the movie A Christmas Story that we go out for dinner on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is a different story completely. It's pretty fun and beats cleaning all those dishes - of course the day after again is another story, but who wants to do that work plus all the last minute gift wraping?
