Anyone know if yoiu can pre-load your cart at JCP? I have lots of items and would prefer not to have to do it all at 1:00AM

Try posting on Freecycle or the free section of Craigslist. At least in my area, there are many families that have lost homes and all decorations along with them. I am sure many would be grateful for a chance to start anew. We have a huge Goodwill that has a very large Christmas section. I am sure they must vary by location.

I have the same schedule every year. BF - shopping :) Saturday - house decorations go up. Sunday - tree goes up and gets decorated. Lights go up somtime on November, whenever there is a mild weekend. They don't get turned on until Thanksgiving evening or BF.

Is there any place that has everyone's Price Match and Price Adjustment policy including Black Friday exceptions? Perhaps I have overlooked it. Sure would be nice to have all of that info in one place!

If he is a bit open about color you can often find deals on last seasons colors that are discontinued. If he wants a standard like black it will be much harder. I have been looking for a Northface myself, and it seems that deals are few and far between for the current year style/color. I am hoping someone else has some tips!

Try checking out local activities that the entire family (less DH) can enjoy. I know that locally I have a Fantasy of Lights Parade, Living Chistmas put on by local church (absolutely amazing), Christmas tree lightings, choir performances etc. How about a "Christmas Sweater" party with DS, his wife, DD's friends, and whomever else you can get together. Visit the local Salvation Army or thift store to find the tackiest sweater. In my case, I just have to visit my closet LOL. Could even make a project out of creating your own. Take silly photos and have prizes. Most colorful, Ugliest, Most Unique.

Is there a way to have Amazon notify you if the price changes on something in your cart? I went into my account and while it mentions alerts, I can't find where to set anything. Am I missing something? TIA

That is exactly what we do at our office. We pick the number of children we want to buy for and are provided with age, gender, and their wish list. Feels so much better to know you are helping a specific child to get something they really want. We all make those BF sales really count when buying for "our" kids :)

For the first time in 124 years Sears will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 7:00AM till noon. Can't wait to see the ads!

My first Black Friday was in 1998 when I had to find not 1, but 3 Furbys for my girls. It was trial by fire as I checked the Walmart website Thanksgiving day, sat on the phone at midnight, then up to wait for KayBee toys to open. The success I had that year got me hooked

I think this must vary by store. We have purchased many major items from our local store and had a great experience both with original purchase, and also any warranty work.

This will be my first time at Walmart for BF. What time should I get there if I want a laptop? When I called the store they weren't sure what, if any, procedure they would use (line, tickets, etc).

This will be my first year starting out at Walmart. I am lucky enough to have two close to me, one large and one small. Which one will I be likely to have better luck at? Will the larger store have more stock of sale items? Any tips for a Walmart newbie are appreciated :)

You will probably get the best deal on BF. If you go in the evening before TG, they may be willing to put it aside for you. That way you will be sure it is there BF morning. They did that for me last year. I think it also saves them time as all they need to do is ring you up and go on to the next happy shopper :) Best of luck!

Does anyone know if Kohl's will do a price adjustment to BF price? If I purchase a few days prior to BF and then go to customer service BF day will they do adjustment to sale price?

I work for a small family owned business. Each year we all chip in to buy a gift for the owner and his wife. It has varied from gift certificates for B&B, gift cards, etc. This year we are having a portrait made to match those of his dad and grandfather. In addition, we also used to do Secret Santa, but have started a tradition of something much more keeping with the spirit of the season. We take the money we used to use to buy each other gifts we really didn't need, and use it to sponsor a child in foster care. We get the age, gender, and a wish list for each child we sponsor, and shop for gifts for them instead. It is so much fun to shop for them and know you are making Christmas better for someone truly in need. Depending on the boss, perhaps you could sponsor a child in their name, or make a donation in their name to a favorite cause or charity of theirs.
