  1. Both my daughter and I have gotten our trees from Home Depot and we are both very happy with them!!
  2. Check with your local Walmart as many are no longer price matching.
  3. Wow, that sounds like one heck of an accident!! As bad as it was, it sounds like it could have been so much worse. Thanks for all of your efforts and dedication, and best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery!!
  4. Any idea when the cleaner copy may be arriving so we can have an item listing?
  5. Not quite who I was hoping for, but I will take it for a start
  6. I keep on looking for new ads but there has been nothing I thought sure today would be a big day. There are still so many I am anxious to see!! Guess I just need to develop more patience.
  7. I will be very curious to see what others have to say. The Philips brand seems to get the best reviews by far, but is also the most expensive. I have seen the one in the Kohls' and JCP ad, but can't find any reviews. I was thinking of getting one by Avalon Bay. It seems get really good reviews on Amazon.
  8. Since it has been unseasonably warm here, I needed this to make the season feel real. Thank you Walmart
  9. Thanks so much! Best Buy did not respond to my tweets, and this info had not been posted last time I looked. This was exactly what I was hoping for!
  10. Both my daughter and I have needed new trees the past two years. After going though all of my archived BF sales ads (I save the pdf's every year) I decided that Home Depot seemed to have the best and most consistent deals. Their prices are exceptional and their trees very high quality. I haven't really found another retailer that has both. The tree deals are VERY popular at my local HD. The two tips that helped me succeed both years were 1) be in line EARLY (for my store at least an hour) 2) have another person if at all possible. Scout out location of the trees prior to store opening. My store has detailed maps and hot chocolate ( I love my local HD!). When the store opens run in without a cart or hand truck. After you find your tree, have one person stay with the box while the other comes back with the cart. I must say it is a very old school Black Friday experience!
  11. My strategy would be to select my fabrics ahead of time so I knew exactly what I wanted, and where is was. Be there at store opening, grab your fabrics, and get in line at the cutting table . While you will most likely spend a bit of time in line, this will probably minimize it. Good luck!
  12. I thought they usually had something like this, it may be just a bit early to confirm. I sent a tweet to them, we will see if I get a response.
  13. Currently BB has a very short return window of 15 days. Do they extend it for holiday purchases? If so, what are the details?
  14. Thanks! I just love my Christmas movies. DH is pretty much resigned to having them on 24/7 during December
  15. I think typically Kohl's has the best deals when they have % off, free shipping, and Kohl's cash. I think you will usually need a Kohl's card to be able to use the codes for the best deals. Amazon might be a good source as well. Start price watching now so you know what the price points are. There are many different models so make sure you compare apples to apples Happy shopping
  16. Same schedule every year- Lights go up the first nice weekend after November 1st. They aren't lighted until Thanksgiving evening. Saturday after Thanksgiving all of the household decorations go up. Sunday after Thanksgiving the tree goes up and is decorated. Let the non-stop Christmas shows and movies begin! While I refuse to put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, I want to get them up as soon as I can after so I can squeeze in every day I can till Christmas
  17. Just wanted to thank you again for your great suggestion! Lucky for me I have a Michael's and JoAnn's a few doors from each other so I stopped at both last night. I found a beautiful 18" doll that looks very much like an American Girl. She has a soft body, so good for snuggling as well. Using my 50% off coupon she was only $12.50. I think I will have enough left to add a pair of pajamas. It was a far better deal than even any BF deal I found.
  18. Thanks so much for your lead on the doll! I think I found the one you were talking about. It has a stuffed body, so I think it might be good to cuddle with if that is what she wants. It looks like my local Joann's has some in stock. I am going to stop on my way home to check it out. We started buying for foster kids at work years ago when we decided it was silly to exchange small gifts with one another, and decided to buy for the kids instead. It is now one of the highlights of our Christmas season when we get the list of kids we are buying for. We all try really hard to find them all exactly what is on their wish list!
  19. Every year we sponsor kids in the foster care system at Christmas. This year, one is a seven year old who has requested a doll. I inquired if she wanted a "Barbie type" or "baby doll" type and was told they thought "baby doll". Budget can not exceed $20. The reason for this is that hopefully when they are reunited with parents, that the parents will be able to provide a gift of the same value. My question is should I get a true baby doll, or perhaps one of the dolls that is along the line of an American Girl? Any suggestions from those with girls around this age is deeply appreciated!
  20. We purchase an ornament from everywhere we visit when we travel. It brings back wonderful memories each year when they are hung on the tree!
  21. I do lots of online shopping, but try to avoid any purchases that are "mission critical". Too many ways for things to go wrong, and I do love going out to the stores!
  22. I just picked up a 5 pack of smartphone stylus pens for $4 at Menards. May not be BF price but the line was short
  23. My niece, now almost 15, is my BF soulmate She even has her own GD wardrobe! Two years ago we were trying to get a tree at Home Depot. To get in the door quickly, we decided to forego a cart. We got a tree and were in the process of dragging it to a side aisle so she could wait with it while I got a dolly. After watching two women tussle over what they thought was the last tree, she literally threw her body over the box LOL No one was going to get that tree away from her!
  24. I do take advantage of the great deals to pick up things for both myself and household items, in addition to gifts. Macy's has had great prices on cashmere(my guilty indulgence), and Home Depot has been my first stop the past two years. They have the BEST deal for Christmas trees! Quite a change from the toy stores and clothing stores that used to be the focus
