  1. B&N just announced New Nook Tablet today for $249. SMH. Drooling over it already.
  2. I just got one for my son from Sierra Trading Post last week. The had 20 or 25% off for signing up as new customer or email. I did that first the went to look. Plus they had free shipping. They said some are irregulars, but got a blue jean hooded jacket that got good reviews.
  3. So happy to see so much excitement this year. Got my name and did some internet browing yesterday. Will be buying soon and at black friday. lol
  4. I bought 4 Studio Multi Thermal Panel Drapes at work using the $10 of $25 code in one purchase and pick up at store for about $130. Just ordered 4 more separately $34.99 each and $10 off for $24.99 and tax came to $27.30. Much better deal at original cost of $70. Didn't figure to use code over and over to get better deal to begin with:) oh well, I've been wanting these curtains for a while. Counting as part of my Christmas gift to myself:)
  5. My favorite thing about Black Friday is the GOTTADEAL MANIA and 24 HR Marathon for the DEALS. I love the comraderie Black Friday gives me through Gottadeal and the family connections. I go to Georgia where my family is for Thanksgiving and GottaDeal helps me scope out the best deals for my family, who are amazed how I find all these deals:). I'm up all night on GottaDeal shopping online cause we are from a small town, closest mall is 40 mins away. I catch my best deals through GOTTADEAL then when my family is ready we head to the mall.
  6. LAYAWAY IS NOT. So outraged couldn't type right, lol
  7. Really, LAYAWAY is the the cause of people over spending. How many folks have Bad Layaways on their Credit Reports? In the big scheme of things, Walmart probably loses money with layaways overall, or the potential for money, based on cancelled layaway rates and space costs. However, with the way the economy is right now, they are offering OPTIONS for families, who are struggling for WHATEVER reasons. If you want to vent, go join the OCCUPY WALLSTREET LAYAWAY Sittin.
  8. DS14 told me this weekend he wants PS3 for Christmas. This is great deal to stock up on games. I let him pickout three, since I'm clueless on what he likes. LOL. OK, so how much does the actual game system cost. LOL.
  9. I agree about the lists. I think that helps you figure out the persons interests, tastes and personality. Plus, remember that it will be ok to ask Eve for more info from the person just to get more clarity from them. This for me too has been my only gift that is a surprise, since I buy the majority of the family gifts and my own gifts :). Glad to see the same applies for others. Just want to say that I'm truly grateful to everyone on the Secret Santa Exchange. You see the same folks back yearly and it is like our own special Family. Yeah, we may have some hiccups here and there, but really, isn't that the same for regular families too.
  10. Got my Big Book in Sunday paper w/$10 gift card with $75 purchase on back. It Excludes quite a few things.....namely electronic learning items. Wanted the LeapPad Explorer Bundle. Feel you MGST24 on Green only LeapPad. My TRU, Memphis, TN, said they only had it in green there too. They had about 10 in the store. Why wouldn't you make both. Guess green is gender neutral. They wouldn't let me put it on layaway. Said it was not a big ticket item.
  11. I just came back from ToysRUS Memphis, TN. Had called beforehand looking to see if they had LeapPad Explorer Bundle and they said they did. I asked about putting on layaway and they said I could for those. Went there and they only had it in green, no pink. Customer Service said it could not be put on layaway. Said only big ticket items like bikes, baby furniture or any other big ticket item. SMH. I just look at them and said even if I'm putting two on layaway and they said no. You know this kinda stuff urks me. So, if you plan on wanting to put anything small on layaway check your stores. They can't seem to get it right at mine.
  12. The aspect of durability of IPOD Touches and Ereaders are a little unrealistic. Electronics period are not break proof items. If you drop it, hit it, sit on it, whatever, they break. Despite what anyone says about "Gorilla glass", please, if you believe that and still don't take care to protecting and caring for your electronics (or ensuring your child is responsible enough to have it) they will get broken by dropping, hitting or whatever. Nothing is breakproof, wish they were, but such is the fact of life where electronics are concerned. What features and specs work for your life is the question. I'm less concerned with this issue than just trying to figure out which is best device to get between all that are offered.
  13. I am thinking about a leapfrog leappad for granddaughter 2 and grandson 18 mos(yeah, yeah, he plays with moms computer and cellphone...will grow into it). Do you think they will be hard to get closer to christmas? Was wanting to get a sale price, if they go on sale, but concerned they will be hard to find. Thinking of putting two (pink and green) on layaway just in case. Thoughts!
  14. I don't know if this has been asked or not. I have been longing for the Nook Color, but the the Kindle Fire came out recently. I would love the e-mail access, e-reader, word viewing/editing ability, and games. How does the Nook Color compare to the Kindle Fire. I read some updates views of Nook Color, which they have tagged as E-reader tablet. I would love to get both, but which is more desirable, if I had to pick between the two. I have the original Nook already. Thoughts would be appreciated.
  15. just got my two (Mickey and Minnie w/names) today. They are beautiful. Name lettering is about 2inches capital letters and 1/2 inch to 1inch lowercase. Some on their website complained about the lettering size previously, but as they said.....they definitely fixed it. Got for my two grandkids (boy and girl) for Christmas. I sent my sister a picture of them and she liked so much she wanted one....lol
  16. Maybe there's hope for someone this year to get a 'convection oven'. LOL. Hey, someone may feel extra christmassey!!!! Happy shopping soon everyone.
  17. Yay, welcome back Eve. I'm definitely in....thanks for taking this on again. Much appreciated.
  18. Just ordered the Holiday Grab Bag, Men's Grab Bag, (20 Lip Balm Purse Pack and got Muscle mend and Bee Keeper(lip balm pack) free, and free FEDEX Shipping 61.43 SHIPPED. I really need to get off Gottadeal. LOL. However, I'm getting lots of gifts covered.
  19. OK, you guys are RIDICULOUS. LOL. I ordered 10 I think as gifts. WOW what a deal. Thanks!
  20. I got the nook last year for Christmas. It has had some problems, but I got the insurance and it has been replaced twice. Once got a lemon and they replaced it no problem. Second, the advanced button split and the sent a refurb immediately. Despite those issues, which I feel are normal for any electronics, I love my Nook. I'm a big fan of Barnes and Nobles and go there with my Nook all the time. I still like looking at the books and going to the store. Plus, we go as a family. DH has been asking questions lately about it so I got him and DS(soon to be 14) one of these. This is a great deal. I paid the $249.00 for the roll out of the Nook. Having gotten a replacement refurb in a different package....it looks new and works fabulours. Now we all can go to B&N with our Nooks
  21. I wasn't supposed to go overboard, but I did on others. Then when I look at gifts for my DS13, I realized he did not have as many gifts. So, bought more. Majority with christmas club money and cash. A little on credit that will pay off within the next month. Feel great about that. Mainly big gifts computers, ipod touch and other items. DH isn't working so have to make things work on one salary.
  22. Got my 2 bags yesterday.......I love Burtsbees items. I didn't check for the items mentioned. Even still, this is a great buy. Gonna us to fill Vera Bradley totes I got on sale courtesy of Gottadeal for my son's teachers.
