ok 5- Santa's workshop........... and my final guess if that isn't right.. Pitch

That is a very sweet story...I have written alot of good things before in cards/on paper to various teachers my son has had because they had been so helpful, but never thought about copying to Principal, that is a great idea. My child has autism and other issues and I always give the teachers alot of credit for helping him/these kids. It takes much patience, and extra kindness when trying to understand how hard it is for the kids to communicate, cope with their own behaviors, let alone, LEARN.... And then the teachers/staff have to deal with me (the parents) who are usually asking for alot more info that what typical student's parents would ask--because we don't get it from our kids, etc...

Any suggestions on where to find a cookie cutter that is exceptionally big? R u talking like 6 x 6 approx? That is such a neat idea....even if not for a teacher. I just made some fudge Sunday just for us.... Thanks. . .

Do Any Of You Write Christmas Newsletters For Your Cards?
allshoppedout replied to raven20_79's topic in 2009
I have never done one. I think the format of yours sounds fantastic.I have received a few that have sounded like they were realllly bragging instead of just informing/updating. . . My suggestions: 1-Maybe you mention that your DH has been having a hard time finding work just briefly (so they know but aren't worried about you) and then, 2-how about if you reprinted a newsletter from a prior year, one of your favorite years? with the title sayin' "looking back on favorite memories/a favorite year" :) (I am hoping you saved one on your computer/in old address book clippings) 3-change the recipes and 4-use a picture of family "then" and "now" 5-also maybe a pic of OUTSIDE your house. Those who may not go across miles to see you can be cheered by your outdoor decor with a photo. 6-tell everyone that you appreciate their cards and letters, and friendship over the years Sure hope the new year brings better things for you. Good luck on the newsletter. -
Ok, I had to go buy new net lights....but :holiday16I put them all out today--it is 65 degrees here and NO wind (better for allergy people) Also lights on lamppost....no deer or anything sitting out--yet... Maybe tomorrow or the next day.... I know the "heatwave" won't be around much longer. As soon as I do put deer/characters out, DH is gonna be cranky, he doesn't like decorations out until December 1st but doesn't want to be the one to put stuff up in the cold, that is for sure.... .

We could possibly trade the PS2 in but that brings up other concerns: I just read in various threads/places, that there are 2 ( or more) versions of a PS 3 ? Help me out here....and I know this is border line tech question but.... which version is BEST. Are all/some backwards compatible for the PS games? and Will I still find the best one/backwards comp. one?? (I know I could ask a person at Gamestop but sometimes you get rushed...and not enough info....I need it explained to me slowly LOL, "mom speed" )

I don't know who else is on your list/where you live, etc. But in our area, DICK'S sporting goods sell UGLY STIK JR for about $25-30.... if you have one of those Entertainment coupon books they have coupons in there sometimes $10 off 50 dollar purchase...maybe you could get someone else (DH even) a present there and save $ that way. I think that fishing pole is like 36-38 inches long...still may be big for a 3 yr old. Walmart has some affordable Ugly Stik styles but I didn't see a Jr. . . they do have the "kid" poles like Spongebob etc....
-
I might have to go in that direction actually, that thought didn't occur to me. It still bugs me that it is THAT much $ for a system! Personally I'd rather have a fancy cell phone with video/mp3 etc...but I'm a girl, I like to talk
-
Thanks for your reply. :) Yes, conj, he knows $ is tight...I think if I were his age I'd probably be thinking "but it is Christmas" although he should be beginning to understand more about dealing with $ and finances..... I have to bug him every year for a list. He always deliberates on anything he asks for...he doesn't want to chose haphazardly, it is like a huge decision that he is so so serious about. And I have to say what he selects in general, he normally plays with alot...Not like we ever "wasted" $ on stuff when buying what he asks for... I like the buying the game and promising the console "soon" although it could be torture....we don't know anyone with PS3 either, so he couldn't play it on theirs...hmmm...

Wanted to add, I tried to persuade/ask about the XBOX because of the deal this weekend.. No there is no way he wants one of those.... *sigh*

ok on Kohls.com there is no review for the w.maker...but the picture looks different handle looks bigger.. I tried elsewhere on the web and found a pic or 2 of w.maker that looks like one in ad scan for Kohl's but they did not say rotating...and they did not get a good review. I wonder if kohl's got the picture wrong... or if the pic is correct but the w.maker really doesn't rotate. Anyway reviews mostly said that iron did not cook evenly at all, that even on high it took 2 x as long to cook as it should and waffles were kind of thin...maybe not such a bargin? One could always buy and try...
-
I want one of those wafflemakers too--and I think I should just get the Waring one...on sale at Target this week 79.oo but it seems like sooo much money. However the rotating ones make much better waffles... I was just about to go see if I could find reviews on the one in Kohl's ad... it is an Oster It is only 9.99 women will be for that. Please tell me what DSM is, I just cannot figure that one out...

My story: every year my son (now 15) has difficulty "finallizing" his Christmas list... and I have to beg for the list..when I get one it still normally has maybe 2-6 items.. This year though he wants the PS3 and 1 game for it. Likely about $400 total with game and tax... Most expensive thing he has asked for-- EVER. Well that is all...but we can't afford that. SO, what do I do? He has nothing else on his list and I doubt that he will. The game he wants comes in PS2 format, but he says the game is "completely" different on PS2--I don't know if that is accurate statement or not...but he says don't get me the PS2 game. Now his b-day is in January...one could say $200 on xmas and $200 on b-day which we may have spent on him 1 or 2 times before in his life, but can't this year... And I wonder if he may want more new PS3 titles--they are $$ and I doubt he will get them as b-day presents from others... Love to hear everyone/anyone's suggestions... What would you do??
-
The kiddo one is certainly going to be more CUTE and if your hope is that he'll only use it 2-5 times then get that one... I think there are definitely affordable good poles...and I KNOW that my DH (who loves to fish) would want to get him like the most affordable one that was a good name if he were say 5, 6 or 7....but maybe not at 3 yr.old..he might even decide to save $ and choose the Kiddo one for that age group. . .
-
Oh and one more, and I don't even know if this is coming out before xmas--but Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
-
I do recall the Simpsons they had many seasons for that price, but not all. I picked up 2 for my son..so I am looking to build on that...not necessarily picking in order, but picking up "great" seasons..sometimes I read the amazon.com reviews before I go to a store..
-
I saw that just a little bit ago as I reviewed the BB add, anyone think I might get it any cheaper..? I can be patient--no rush to wrap or anything, but I don't want to wait too long and miss the good deal.
-
THANKS so much, I know that a few GD people purchase many DVDS for presents and that's exactly why I wanted your input. Yes, I am trying to save as much as possible this year.

That baby/avatar is so precious. Aren't u glad to have a new one for Christmas?? Who needs decorations with her, huh

Nice pictures! Love your angel and also snowglobe collections! Is that a bichon on the couch -
I am interested in getting the best prices on DVD's possible and wanted to know your opinion on whether to wait until BF or think the deals will be before then, etc. I took advantage of the $10 pre order the other day, but as you know it didn't include many titles.. Where did you find best deals, 1 place or many stores? I did find about 5 I wanted at Target last year, on BF/that weekend... Do you think any of the ones I have listed below would go as low as $12 or $10 ? Also even if the prices were very low, and had to be shipped then I want free shipping.. I want WIDESCREEN, and regular (not blu-ray) in these movies: The Ugly Truth Transformers either 1, or 1 & 2 --which ever is cheaper price per dvd --son likes 1st one also XMEN -Wolverine Monsters V Aliens UP Dexter Season 3 Simpsons -season 6, season 9 thru to the present.....
