My Lowe's was bare, like the GRINCH had come and eaten all the good stuff, only 3 PINK reindeer for outdoors and a box of chickens--yeah I said chickens...hardly any lights, some bows, shatterproof ornaments, small moving Pooh characters and it was 60% off.....

I didn't have anything to go from when I made some last year. I just used my imagination and made some labels using Microsoft works. I used various font styles and colors and then used the "border" thing to make lines near the edge of the label, top bottom and side. I would name it something that applies to the person you are giving it to, or to the contents. . . Maybe write 10 up as a variation of 7 up, if for instance your daughter plays basketball and her number is 10. Another example would be to have it say DAN'S Old fashioned root beer instead of DAD's (if you are giving it to someone name Dan that is...) Get what I mean? Also you could write "made and distributed by the ___(your name)___ bottling company, Cleveland Ohio" or created with old-fashion-flavor.... Look at a few bottles you may have in your house or just google some 2 ltr bottles online and you can get ideas for wording. My border/font thing didn't look like it was professional, but it didn't look bad at all. My recipients were very amused with the ones I made. hope this helps

Just wanted you all to know my m & m cookies and my chocolate chips turned out perfect -- I used 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco and I didn't use all brown sugar, but I used 1 1/4 cup brown sugar and just 1/4 cup white... Yes it was all purpose G.medal flour... and baking soda in recipe. I didn't hand mix because having some carpal tunnel issues in hand. was "saving" hands for the scooping out dough, lifting cookie sheet...etc. Do you use the crisco sticks instead? or margarine. I was told alot of the margarines have taken out the trans fat making them unreliable to bake with

Ok I am really hoping some kind, experienced gottadealer can get to the bottom of this for me: I tried making chocolate chips and they turned out very "fluffy" and seemed to get brown around the edges easily. They didn't taste right, but I know I put everything in them. They didn't seem sweet enough. Anyway, because I have made mistakes before, I double check everything (and don't take/make phone calls during baking) Details: None of the products were even close to expiration date. I used REAL butter. I used a wilton cookie sheet. So the only thing I wondered if maybe could be a problem is 1- I used my kitchenaid and put on the the dough hook to mix the choc. chips into the dough instead of my sore arm...would there be any chance I could have overmixed them? I don't feel I did --it was on low, just went around a few times. 2-the flour -gold medal-while not expired at all--nor opened was in a room that the temperature changes alot.... would that make any difference? I am reluctant to make another batch before I ask people. Wasting my time is one thing, but to waste all the ingredients that is upsetting. They were edible but by no means "great"

For those of you who may not have read the whole thread, I will repeat that I never got an order confirmation, never got any kind of update email that told me there was a delay of any kind, nothing said back order, no pending note-- never got anything reflected on account page either and the other day she told me that she would NOTE IT ON MY account history page that I canceled the mens crews that were "holding up the order" and it would be reflected--guess what it is not reflected... maybe her disco brain got mixed up and she rebooked instead of Reflected the change....
