  1. Another year down... It was fun and I will be back again next year. For those that are not aware, Gottadeal is year round, NOT JUST BLACK FRIDAY... There are great deals all year long (of course nothing like Black Friday) that you can find. Once again, first at Best Buy... The manager even knew me by name and came over to say "hello Ernest" lol. As my group was walking in behind me, they heard her telling the other works "That's Ernest, he's always first every Black Friday" lol.
  2. When is the "Post-game" broadcast? I thought it was tonight but I don't see anything listed for it.
  3. The sale is live... and they crashed, lol
  4. You have to know how to work it right. First, spending $1500 in Best Buy is very easy... I can't remember the last time I didn't spend that much honestly. Second, if you have the Best Buy card you can get 5% back on all sales in rewards. That is a 5% savings right there off their already good prices. If you don't think their prices are good, they also price match.
  5. Just an observation of the sales for Elite members vs. non Elite member early access sales. There were many more items available for Elite members in the early access (some below the posted sale prices) than there were for non Elite members. I bought most of what I needed, but checked for a few other items I wasn't sure about getting or sold out, that although available and not sold out, are full price, not the Black Friday sale price. I checked numerous items that I know were available to Elite members and they are full price for the regular members even though their early access is now available. Once again, having the Elite helped me get many of the non ticketed items early and not have to run around the store hunting for them on Black Friday. I still intend to be first in line Thursday when they open, but even that does not secure the items if you have to run through the entire store to find them.
  6. I have checked all the ads and unless I missed it, none of the Black Friday deals are for a 4K HDR. All the deals on Samsung are 4K UHD, and mostly the 6 series. Most of the 6 series models are not Samsung Hub compatible, which is one of the main things I am looking for. They do have the mirror option, which helps since I am trying to integrate it with my refrigerator, but I'd prefer the HDR, Samsung Hub, and bluetooth options if I can find it. Also, I would prefer either a 7 series or better yet an 8 series. Unfortunately most Black Friday ads are a clearance to get rid of older outdated stock to make room for the new.
  7. Nice, it has it's benefits. I always hit elite or elite plus by Black Friday every year, lol. Only negative is if you choose the 12 month interest free rather than the rewards, it doesn't count towards your status.
  8. Is this online or in store sales? In the past it was usually just online but this doesn't say that, so I'm thinking they may have some of the items in the stores as well.
  9. Most of the smaller items will be available online, but the doorbusters are usually in store only. The TVs I'm sure are going to be in store only, however, Best Buy has been great at having plenty of the doorbuster items. Last year the store I was at gave out tickets for the TV to the entire line, and still had tickets left. They had over 100 of the doorbuster tv in stores last year. The equivalent this year would be the $179 Sharp 4K UHD tv.
  10. Thank you very much. The one I got a few years ago is a bit faded and has been worn every Black Friday since I got it, and made it into the local paper a few times :-) Although it will probably be below freezing here on Thanksgiving when the reporters usually show up I will try to remove my jacket so I can get your shirt and site in the local papers. They always interview the first group on line, which is usually my family and I, lol.
  11. To do all that they will have to lose a lot of their other items. Fact is the Target nearby is in a mall and you have to drive past a ShopRite to get there. If someone is looking for food they are going to go there for the larger selection, but now if someone wants other Target basic items, they will have to go to Walmart.
  12. Been first in line at Best Buy nearly every year. In fact, the employees know me as "number 1" every time they see me throughout the year. Don't know what the Best Buy ad is yet, nor do I really care. I will be first at Best Buy AGAIN.
  13. Early bird gets the worm........... Pink Floyd - Waiting For The Worms
  14. Chumbawumba - I Get Knocked Down Bon Jovi - I'll Sleep When I'm Dead...
  15. Don't always trust the advertisements for Best Buy. They have been known to give even better deals the day of the sale. Last year, their ads all showed the Samsung S7 edge with $250 gift card. That was one of the main deals I went there for, and they gave $400 gift cards that I used on my other purchases the same day.
  16. I train my family early. I will walk fast, and if they can't keep up and stay with me... I will not take them on Black Friday. Believe me, they have learned to move fast and stay with me, lol. Even my wife who is usually very slow knows that on Black Friday she better pick up the pace. Been doing this since before I was married or had any kids. Nothing will keep me from going, and no one will slow me down. This is probably about 23 or 24 years that I have been doing Black Friday shopping, and for the past 14 years in the area I now live in. Sorry, but I will never reveal what locations in order to keep from anyone beating me on the lines, lol.
  17. There are many things to think about if you are planning to bring any children. KNOW what it is going to be like at the location. If there is ANY chance of them getting harmed, don't be stupid, leave them home. My kids have begged me every year to stay with me when I camp out at Best Buy. Being New York, it can get pretty cold. We have blankets, a propane heater, and if all else fails, they can sit in the car and warm up. Usually the car is the first in the parking lot and within 20 - 30 feet from where we set up camp. Now that they are older, they help out and either grab items that I can't get tickets for or get on the line. We always heavily coordinate everything and I have been going to the same location for about 13 years. When they were younger things were harder and they would stay with their grand parents. The first year they went it was because they kept bugging me because they wanted to go. As long as we were able to find ways for it to be safe, we gave them that chance but they often stayed either in the carriage or right next to it. It has to be a personal decision that only the parents can make. What really bothers me is an unprepared parent that has a child crying because they are cold. I have been known to invite the child (not the adults in the their group) to join us and stay warm. Problem is, for many years, many of the items I bought on Black Friday were upgrades to make camping out easier, lol. My wife has often complained "how much can you be saving when you buy all this stuff to camp out on line" lol. I have tents, tables, chairs, extra chairs, a canopy, blankets, heater, plenty of food, water, drinks, and coffee... Where we go they are usually pretty nice about it and if we leave to go to the bathroom (they do not have porta potties available) or if someone needs to warm up in their car, or even get something to eat, as long as they are not gone for too long they will hold their spot for them. Many of those that arrive early are the same ones every year and we all help each other out and often will grab items for each other and meet up at the register and hand them to each other.
  18. Sad... Gander Mountain can be added to that list as well. They closed all the stores near me, and many more nationwide. Sadest loss of them all was Circuit City. After that, Best Buy and Walmart didn't have the competition to hold the really great sales any more.
  19. Best Buy without a doubt. Best deals on electronics, but often too crowded and almost always means camping out. Over the last few years though traffic has dropped drastically.
  20. I think Gander Mountain may be gone. I know all the locations any place near me have closed in the past year. The dates look about right for most, especially Best Buy and Walmart, the 2 main places I care about. I figured between the 7th and the 11th this year based on previous release dates. Doesn't mean it may not release early and then under threat, be pulled again, as usual.
  21. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MRZ3LF/ref=s9_acsd_bw_wf_a_E170503A_cdl_3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-10&pf_rd_r=X8FXK104MYZ2GMXTA49P&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=9a8fd98a-a5c5-4fcc-94b7-8f078f2b6ca9&pf_rd_i=15469055011 Hoping this will be on sale. I know other DJI drones have been on sale in the past.
  22. If I'm right, many clothing and accessory stores offer gift cards or points based on the purchases made on any items even if it was not a sale item. In most cases I stick to electronics, and often anything that breaks I will wait until Black Friday unless it is something I can not wait for. I had a TV die about a month ago, but I am waiting till next month to replace it.
  23. 4PM for Best Buy this year? Earlier every year... that just means standing in line less, lol. I remember when they opened 7am Friday, then earlier and earlier every year to make sure they were first, lol. I guess they are trying 4pm this year rather than the 5pm (I believe) last year.
  24. Can't wait... Gottadeal.com has been my favorite site for years. When do the live broadcasts start this year?
  25. So glad it all worked out well for you and your daughter. I can understand someone that doesn't understand that they shouldn't pet a working dog when they look at it as a pet, but ask them if they would try to pet a police dog. I'm sure it was all a matter of them not understanding the dog was more than just a pet and was a working dog.
