Some options to consider is adding RAM memory. You could check, but I believe it can hold up to 8G RAM but only has 2G installed. On NewEgg you can get RAM for real cheap and while not a complete fix you WILL see a difference. I intend to do that with my new laptops as well. I bought 3 $178 Lenovos at Best Buy and the Samsung for $349. Windows 8 seems to be a RAM hog and they are all running kind of slow even the Samsung with 4G RAM installed and the I3 processor, which is a much stronger processor than any of the cheaper laptops come with. Most of the processors in the low-end laptops are built more for going on the internet and not much graphics or for games.

lol, for some of us it's more about tradition and competition rather than just getting the deals. Luckily I have never had to get there that early, but if someone beats me one of these years, I'll get there earlier the next year to make sure I take back my title as first. Since moving to this area I have been first 6 out of 9 times, and the first time was my first year in this location so it was more a scouting exhibition where I got none of the good deals. Some people make have their own opinions, and trust me, I hear it all from my own family, but it's fun being first. In my local Best Buy they even have a nickname that they use when referring to me now, they just call me "Number 1" because that is my place in line every year on Black Friday.

It happens. I was on line myself and kept running low on battery so not sure Id' have been able to stay the whole time any way but even harder to DO the broadcast than the listen to it. I WILL BE ON TONIGHT THOUGH!!!!

Scored almost every doorbuster at best Buy. Yup, not a lot of competition over here Racerfan. I was worried that someone would try to beat our times from last year and got there Tuesday night. Sat for 23 hours by myself, then another 15 hours with George (the second in line from last year) and his mom before the 3rd person arrived, lol. In fact they liked my setup so much they went out and bought a propane heater as well this year. They allowed tents finally, and sitting in the tent with the heater on low was warm enough to take my jacket off and go to sleep even in 29 degree weather.

oh.. and 8pm for a midnight opening??? The only thing to make it that far was the Asus laptop that came in green, pink, or white...The store had so many available at that price that it was the only doorbuster to make it down the line... They were practically begging people to take the tickets for it, lol.

Where in NY? I know it's a bit late now but I was on my annual urban camping trip at the local mall, lol. If you're in NY any within 100 miles of me it could be well worth the effort to join a veteran. I now hold the record for longest consecutive years being first in line at my local Best Buy.

Depending on the situation they will be asked to go to the back of the line, they will be denied access until the end of the line, or they will be given a trespass warning and if they return to the mall within 24 hours they will be arrested on sight.

It's one of the magnetic stickers for the car. I knew I would be in at least 2 newspapers and wanted it to add some publicity to the site. I have been using it for years and love it. I have also handed out about 1/2 of the cards business cards Brad sent me and should have them all given out by tonight, lol. If I had a bigger banner or knew of one I would have gladly put that I my tent also. So far 2 newspapers, 1 TV station, and 3 radio stations have either mentioned me, put our pics in today's paper or had us on the news last night. I know they will be back tonight when they open as well and I'll probably be in tomorrow's paper as well. By the time they come back tonight the tent will be put away so I'll make sure my sweatshirt is open so they can see my t-shirt.

I'm camping out right now looking trough the laptop deals myself. Not sure what was said about the Samsung bundle, but Samsung is one of the best brands and is the best under $400 laptop.. HOWEVER MANY JUST SAY HOT PRICE... but we do not knw the prices yet! Do not count them out of the deal, however at this time the samsung is the best.

same here. i set it up for ups to alert me when its delivered so i can run home and put the packages inside and get back on line. 8 of 14 shipped are arriving today. still have 3 orders not shipped yet. since you could only get 1 of each per order i had to place about 11 or 12 orders

she's getting one of te big TVs there for a raffle for her kids school team to raise money.

Just did my first round of interviews for the local newspaper and television. Also was announced on the radio station.... Got the GOTTADEAL.COM sticker proudly displayed on my tent and wearing my GOTTADEAL.COM t-shirt I won in the contest on.

Might be different in some places. I know where I am they often have about 50 ticket types and not all are doorbusters.

I'll find out soon. Until I see proof I take it as unconfirmed. An asst. manager told me but didn't give much details. From checking prices IF it's true I'm thinking Westinghouse brand since it's closest to the price I figure they could drop to $200. Than again they could remove that deal since most people that would get it will likely be on line by the time it's released any way. No point drawing in the crowd that's already there.

All depends on what time you ordered and how many they had. So far everything I ordered is being processed or shipped. Waiting on about 12 packages so far and not all items were shipped yet.

Officially got on line yesterday. First in line 4 years now.

Hope to be able to update my photo on the left this year as well WHEN I'm in the paper again. Last year they took pictures of me but used other pics for the paper when it came out. That pic in the paper is from 2010. Plan to make it 4 in a row, 6 of the past 8 years this time.

Packing up and getting ready to be first at BB in NY. Already contacted the local paper to let them know they don't have to wait until Thursday night to interview me this year. Didn't tell her WHEN I'm going, just assured her that by tomorrow morning she can stop by and there will be people on line. I am planning to head out shortly. Last year I got there 6:30 pm Wednesday but there was talk that some may arrive Wednesday morning this year, so I'm getting the jump on them by going today. Current weather : FREEZING!!! The high for the next few days is low 40's. Got my heater, and convinced mall management to allow tents this year for the first time EVER.

I got all the items I wanted but they will be having the secret sale items posting Wednesday night. Rumor is a 55" TV for $200 and 4 laptop deals not in the ads. Although I got everything, even if those items don't show up, I will still be first in line tomorrow night.
