  1. aaah, my friends are tired of hearing about black friday allready! i've posted bullitens every time an ad came out...LOL. but here is your blog... hope the link works! http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=120266971 http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog&pop=1&ping=1&indicate=1 myspace.com/lusha121
  2. Have to agree with the other posters here. Talk to her FIRST. then shop! I am glad that my husband does BF with me. I sent him out one year by himself and he won't ever do that again alone. He didn't see what the big deal was at the time. Now he knows, and has seen the fun of it. even if we don't need a TON of stuff we still go just to save the $ on the other things we need/want, and have fun together.
  3. Suburban 2500 with 4 wheel drive. Can you tell i live in snow? There are only two things bigger than me on the road A semi and a US ARMY tank. and If I see a tank on the road driving around, well its over... might as well quit shopping because we are all going to die anyway. LMAO! We park the Suburban (i can fit 7 days of camping gear for 5ppl) third row folded down and drive the beretta arround. It fits into ALL small spaces. Last year I took my friend with me in her escort WITH a handicap sticker.... hey whatever gets me closer to the sales first!
  4. two pairs of socks. long undies, comfy pj-ish pants, t'shirt, hoodie OR heated vest (battery powered), jacket, gloves with the hand warmer things in them, hat, scarf, blanket, running shoes. and an across the body purse. it helps.... to be warm out here. 15+ hours infront of BB... you need to be warm

    KB Toys

the ad has been leaked to other sites and removed as of now, I was gone last night and to slow to grab it GAAAAAK! someone has it somewhere......
  6. thanks for the info! I cant wait to hear more on the tv's. I hope they will beat the sears ad buy a ton (even though that is a great price).
  7. online scavenger hunt!!!!!!!!!! (through all the ads/stores) scavenger hunt through the forum, find certian posts... design next years BF tshirt..... best one wins this years!
  8. completly stolen from another website: Some contests that work better for having a winner each time include, Be There or Be Square and the Countdown Game. A game that only works well with a prize is the Countdown Game. In this game the original poster starts with a number, say 100, then each subsequent poster posts the next number down (99, 98 etc.) until you get to zero. Beforehand the person running the game has selected a secret number (or several numbers). At the end of the game, whoever has posted the secret numbers is a winner! In Be There or Be Square, I give a prize to someone who is active on the message board when I check at a certain time. Usually I do this three or four times during the week. A Post the Most contest is a month-long contest during which participants participate actively on the board. At the end of the month I check the number of posts participants have made and a prize goes to the top poster. It didn'y say it had to be original..... I just have (he he) Handy Fingers!
  9. refferal contest. How many people can you refer to the site? don't quite know how you'd work our the logistics of it, but it looks great on paper! Advertisement contest, who can get the most posts placed elsewhere with the gottadeal tag?
  10. gameboy oil toast toy alana dog ellie airplane lotion ugh i hate sending pics from a cellphone to puter!
  11. no. BF is all about ME! You want to save the $, YOU stand in the cold. I am. But thats just beacuse if I ever did any shopping for family members, i'd never be payed back. OR if they gave me the $ previously and I didn't/couldnt get the doorbuster, I'd get yelled at. if my 90 yr old grandfather asked me to get him some things I would. But other than that nope nope nope other peoples shopping is not for me.
  12. victorias secret, OLD NAVY (cant beat the fleece), B&B works. I want hubby to want the zales, reed kay and fred meyer..lol
  13. Muskegon, mi Supposed to start snowing this monday. it's gonna be a cold wait this year!
  14. Sorry, i knew it was either/or... but geeze, did walmart actually have anything that great? and in grandville none the less...gak! but thats a good rule of thumb, If you want a computer, get there (atleast) the day before.
  15. I know that we have a few local GR people on here, but other than them, i think i am closest. Muskegon area (20 min or so) Our BB here on the lakeshore we (MOST OF US) start about 3:00pm or so thanksgiving day. one guy (an employee of said store) had been there since they closed the night before, but he was nuts) last year was sleeting and we still were out. You can come camp with me out here if you like... but you supply the coffee! It is relativley calm, but every town has a few idiots! FYI- I swear Grand Rapids BB was one of the clips posted on here where people were being trampled and beaten upon opening.... i may be wrong though!
  16. "I really don't know how Wal Mart can stay in business in areas with Meijer around. Even Target is better than Wal Mart." Yeah! so what your saying is we should all stop talking about Wallys & target and shop our Meijer stores! right, that is what you are saying right! lmao But seriously, a Meijer can open up across the street from walmart and seriously damage their bottom line if not make them a strong contender for the #1 loosing store company wide.... at least out here... we happen to have a very loyal customer base. I am too weak to brave the walmarts, and if it weren't for price adjusting... I'd never shop at target either. Stores should look at it from the perspective of: store xxx, undercut us by SSS $, but they ran out in 3 minutes.... the consumer will come here later to try to get our deal... we won't have it either because we already sold it too (at said higher price)... AND they will buy something else because they are already here.
  17. I'll easily loose this one. I really don't have any bad experiences to share. I always get up and go early, usually spending the nightin line somewhere. I have a pocket full of candy canes for the clerks at the store ( I used to be one... In a toy department so i know.) I make friends with all the people in line around me, we chat, share coffee, watch movies, take turns warming up in each others cars, grab and toss stuff to each other in stores..... ended up taking the kids (ok, kids are 17..lol) behind us in line @ BB last year out to breakfast. I felt bad. Old Navy let us in way early because the store manager came out to chat and I told her we do this every year and had waited in line over night, so she let us some in and 'warm up' we has the store to ourselves to shop! Worst thing I can think of is when I brought a friend with me and she didn't get the laptop she wanted and made a huge scene about not getting it. Hollered and complained forever (I think she still is). Or maybe the year I went bf shopping with my mom... she wanted to 'browse' every store. :shudder: I guess it feels good to loose.... nothing real bad to share.

    Meijers

From what I understand I do not think so . Anything that says "limited quantities/availibility, special sale limited quantity merchandise & doorbuster or rainchecks not available or going out of buisness sale" will not be price matched. Nor will Meijer price match any grocery items. This is the everyday policy. Thus far there is no special wording regarding black friday sales, but I think that their everyday policy pretty much covers it. As far as price adjustments are concerned, as with most stores I think that their 'doorbusters' all have the "special upc" codes, but don't quote me on that. I have heard conflicting information on price adjustments... can anyone clarify that? and if you need to physically bring the item in or just recipt? *price adjustment* the difference in cost from regular price to sale price
  19. HATE HATE HATE line jumpers/cutters. and the crowds of people with no voice, that wont say anything about it. A large mob of people that have been peacefully sitting together for 15+ hours that are tired, hungry and COLD that have been sitting around for hours with nothing to do...,we should have guts enough to say "GET OUT" I'm not talking physical violence, but 200 ppl yelling in unison to get to the back of the line ought to do it... OR maybe the friend that you brough with you that is p'd off that they didn't get the $200 computer and b$^&@#( about it for the rest of the day and the next 6 mos. because she didn't have a contingency plan if they didn't have the stated ammount on hand. And the people in the stores who are crabby and ticked at the world... GO HOME. Don't shop, this is fun people! Ruins BF for those of us who LOVE it. "and one drive-by we told them it was our local AA meeting, we meet there every Thursday". do you want to come shopping with me?? We could have some fun! your my kinda person!
  20. Start laughing at me now. we shop in snow pants. You guys ever heard of lake effect snow? yep. west michigan here. on the lakeshore.. cold and snow every year. last year .... no snow. We were being pelted with ICE! but hey, 9+ hours in line your so cold you don't notice it!
  21. avoid places like BB and wallymart...(stay away from the mad crush at 5 am. sit in the parking lot in you car, get out of car at 5:15-5:30...)other than that and you will be fine! buy a walker with the chair on it so you can sit when you need to (in line) put a tall bike flag on it. GO WITH A FRIEND! DO NOT GO ALONE. If you need medical attention at any point you need someone there with you. Have a cell phone. Do not over do it. when you are tired, or dont feel well... GO HOME. a few dollars isn't worth it. ask your dr. for a temp. handicap, you may be able to get one. can you tell i have shopped bf pregnant? MOST people are great when they are out shopping, like they didn't know what to expect... just remember, keep a smile on your face because you know the person next to you is just as crazy as you are. worst case scenario... you have your baby waiting in line in the electronics dept. @ BB! maybe they give you the laptop anyway???
  22. I bought an olevia 3 yrs+ ago (32 inch about $600) we love it. Picture quality is great. sorry you got a bad tv. Tell everyone they are bad = better deal for me! looking to upgrade on size maybe 50? but atleast a 42 in. Olevia. Apparently the tv has to be just as big as the wall it goes on.....
