  1. lmao! my UPS mans' name is joe, and he is always happy to see me! always asks what I've ordered this week. expects to see me a week or two after black friday. I'm always happy to see him! On line is good, but usually something from walmart gets messed up. but I won't go there on bf because of the rude people i've encountered there before, so its worth the price I pay to have small things cancelled, not to go there.
  2. IN STORE UP TO 75% off clearance PLUS AN ADDITIONAL 25% off anythign ending with an 8 or 0. My local toys r us is clearancing out a massive quantity of items. It was un-advertized, but signed in store. good luck! lots of video games; some WII games 7.98
  3. snowing freezing cold have on my got a deal shirt burr so glad i won
  4. I don't think that 'black friday tradition' is under attack. I think the holiday spirit is! More people are staying home and on-line shopping more. not because of the crazy on line deals, but because of the mentality of some of the people out there that have now begun to shop... cheaters, liers, theifs, scalpers, pushing, trampling... etc. People have been acting worse and worse every year. I don't mind camping out, I LOVE it. Its always fun to meet new people who don't think that sitting in line for 12+ hours is crazy. I mind the jerk o**$. Its called common courtesy. most people don't have it anymore. Most people will stay home and shop in their jammies to avoid getting stampeeded by the mobs of rude (warm) people who just jumped out of their cars!
  5. mine thinks I have gone batty, but they love me for it, now that they know I have a $ limit per person... and they get GREAT gifts for 20$.
  6. pure genius! I think all stores (large electronic retailers) should adopt Old Navy Strategy for the very small quantity doorbusters ie. the 200$ laptops..... WRISTBANDS! it would take more time but worth it for the consumer in the end. (I actually had someone try to grab my ticket out of my hand one year at BB. security was a joke. thank god for the big guy in front of me that I had been chatting wtih for the last 13 hours)!!!
  7. DD 10 and DS 9 get to experiance the joy of holiday wrapping for their younger siblings! less wrapping for me. She wraps his, he wraps hers, they wrap the other 2... i sit back with a cuppa hot cocoa....
  8. 15+ hour camp out... west michigan... on the lake 1) a snow suit (hey I am in michigan... never fails to be 15 deg. and a nice negative wind chill across the lake) 2) a friend or two. 3) we just brought us a pop up potty tent (protection from the snow and wind) 4) A sunny disposition and a SMILE!!!! realize, that everyone else in line is as crazy as you and those in the FRONT (ahead of you) are even more insane. 5) a loving family member or friend (maybe a line buddy) to bring food and HOT drinks at regular intervals. (made friends in line a few years ago who had a liking for whiskey... we were all warm and toasted.. deals didn't matter much after that!! lol)
  9. we bought a TON of them, the kids were still getting them for birthdays... LOVED them. A little thinner and they are made cheap.. I mean 3$~~ they were perfect for spring and fall nights.
  10. half price books, October 12. And I predict it will be a coupon for % off. (no actual information, but I am a great guesser...lol)
  11. I agree with the toys r us experiance. it was horrid!! not even the employees knew where the line was..... and we were sent to the "line" only to be told 35 minutes later by another employee that this infact was NOT A LINE. threw everything on the floor and walked out. NEVER AGAIN... and I have small kids.
  12. step 1: September clearance sale shopping... have a box each started for the kids step 2: come here step 3: have THE talk with DS 10 step 4: getting christmas lists now step 5.... check daily for clearance deals, pray for tablets to go cheap, and look for video games.
  13. everyone else to stay home, so I can get what I need to get... lol
  14. I did the same thing... Shopping on line, great deals on the clearance stuff for christmas, 28.00 to ship to my store!!!!!!!!! Then it took 17 days to get there. I did save over 600$ off reg. retail but still insane shipping! I guess no more Pennys for us. Hubbys credit cards will like that.
  15. that is the greatest thing i have ever heard! I am so stealing that!!
  16. there have been many! best deal? Old navy has to be one of my favorites. Got the rock band thing last year, took sister with me, bought her her x-mas presents and she got a rock band game too! Our store manager knows us from previous black fridays and always lets us in early and brings me coffe. she just knows I'll be there!!! that is a sweet deal. But best overall... there was a pre owned gameboy ps something... store was supposed to open @ 6 am in the mall... I was @ another store in the mall buying for my daughter, sister went down to check out that stores line. It was opening early, she had my ad jumped in line, called me and i ran through the mall like I had the hounds of hell on my heels. meanwhile my sister is being jumped on/trampled trying to reach one....I HAD to have that stupid thing. there were none left (used system 60.00 or something like that. I was crying showed the guy my ad, with the stated store opening time.... he gave me the new one at the used price. prbably got fired after that but hey, my kid bawled his eyes out on christmas morning. It was his last christmas with santa... it had to be done.
  17. once you get a steam mop, you'll never go back. It's like boiling everything you own. This is a great deal and it's going under my tree as a gift for my sister (with her ifrst new place) and a new one for me. if you cut a plastic food storage box, you can 'make' the carpet steamer part. I couldn't live with out this thing. The shark works well, BUT the handles break. Hoping for better luck with this one. Everything appears clean, but most of all, you KNOW it is.
  18. yeah, i agree. nothing to shout for, just oh, eh well ok, thanks, i don't want it. yuck!
  19. ok yall don't flame me, but I have to say, most of us that would ask for help picking out a good deal on a computer (wether laptop, desktop, netbook or whatever other new lingo) don't *realy care* what processor chip sits inside the box. we will never actually see it. aslong as it does a marginally decent job and the computer doesn't die in two months, it'll be ok if it were made by acme co. and Wyle E. cyote put it in there himself! Since MOST (not all but MOST) of us that are asking for help are not mega gamers, or looking at super computers or do anything but basics with a computer, aslong as it can support a few web pages, running decent graphics and we can shop at a decent speed, can e-mail, play on facebook, play a video, hold pictures, write a paper.... you get the idea. We don't know these things for a reason. Look at the economy, most of us this year will be shopping by price points, not specs. Don't tell us that buying XXXXX will make our eyelashes fall out and turn our hair green and our dog will get hives. WE realize that people have preferences, our wallets just don't! Anyone know where to get an IBM for a decent price, desktop or laptop, but must be all in one, not willing to spend more for a monitor or anything else. 200-300$ (or less) refurb or off lease is ok, must be able to wi-fi (in home).
  20. west michigan area, muskegon, always looking for more buddies! I usually only get one year out of people because I am 'too hardcore' for them! looks like trus, oldnavy, sears, meijer.....? have a krewe hitting k-mart, biglots ( I need furniture) other side iof town and an out of town walmart. Pm me if your interested and hardcore enough! lol.
  21. sleep are you out of your mind!??! 36-40+ hours awake(in the snow last year it was 22*). 7 am thanksgiving, untill whenever i get home friday unpack then fall over. not kidding. I had to call hubby to come get me last year! I had too much caffine and no sleep or food, was shaking and near blacking out, but the truck was FULL and the shopping all done. I think power shopping should be an olympic sport! Dont remember the ride home, or what the last store was.... but people were letting me go in front of them. I think people let me go infront of them because I looked so terrible! (maybe id she dies in like I can get item x out of her cart lol) This year I promise to eat something, even if it is turkey (yech). No deal is worth no mom on christmas, so for those of you who shop like me, stop off at a muffin store for their sale!
  22. depends on where you are... Since I don't know that, stop by the nearest womens shelter, or call your local health department to see where that is, in lieu of that ask a local fireman or police officer where you can donate. Or even your nearest hospital childrens ward! Ronald McDonald house?
  23. 1) I am sure glad spent 2 years in clown college now! 2) Wife, check! secretary wanting that promotion.... check! oh, better hide that one in another bag. 3) I wonder if I can shop by osmosis?
  24. A group of us I cant say what group... make up care packages for the local soldiers over seas, about 300 pkgs last year. We also help with out local shelters used toy drive. I won't do toys for tots... I've seen too much shadyness there. So we collect USED toys, clean them up and give them to our mens rescue mission, for them to clean up and give away. ANd last year instead of everyone picking a name (ok most of us still did) off the angel tree, we decided not to just make a holiday for a family, we would change their lives! WE re-did their house, not home makeover we didn't blow anything up, but re-insulated, paint, carpet, checked all the plumbing, fixed what needed to be fixed took care of christmas, paid a few bills, stocked the fridge... they were able to get ahead this year! and are going to help the next family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you wouldn't think that a slipcover and throw blanket could mean so much, but it did. so we buy all year.
