  1. Only about ten years for me. Only hardcore these past few years... 42 hour camp out in 2009, 40 hours in 2008, 27 hours in 2007, 11 hours in 2006, and a mere 2 hours in line in 2005.
  2. Finally broke down and bought the windscreen panels for my 12X12 canopy. You can see in my profile picture that I had used blue tarps for walls the past few years. These new panels pictured below will make a much easier setup and tear down as well as more room inside since the panels go outside of the poles. Only two panels to put up and they zip together! I did a dry run today to ensure I knew how to set them up. Embarassing to get to Best Buy and not know how to set it up! I'm getting pumped!! Here is a link (for those who have not seen it) to one of my videos that shows the inside of the tent; http://i326.photobucket.com/albums/k433/dad2trips/BFNewsetup.jpg
  3. I tether my Droid to my laptop. Works decent for web browsing, but can't really stream video too well. Sometimes it's OK for video, but not reliable.
  4. I haven't seen anything posted on this so I guess BB is not doing it this year. Oh well, two years and I never won.
  5. The emachines I have purchased on BF for friends have lasted over four years now. Depends what you plan to use the PC for should influence if you by the $200 deal or not. The $189 emachines of four years ago are fine for web browsing, email, and light gaming. The $299 emachines of last year (which we have two) are good for that and much more. Good maintenance and any PC will last. I have had my desktop for five years now and it still performs well. Though Dad is getting an upgrade this year!
  6. I'm with bigjim on this. My buds and I camp out every year. When it's all over we look at each other and say, "OK, who is in for next year?". This year none of us need anything really, but we always buy items for friends and family. Last year my list was 22 items for 11 different folks. The campout for us is more of a tailgate party that last 2 days (we set up on Wednesday). We really have fun with the whole experience!
  7. Big Jim - Did you hold out and not go to BB as you were thinking? My friends and I scored pretty good at BB - reward for camping out for 43 hours I guess! We had fun though and plan to do the same this year.
  8. I use my PS3 to stream Netflix. Don't want to pay the Xbox Live Gold membership costs.
  9. Just got back from my Walmart to get the Xbox 360 deal. The gift card did not ring up during checkout so they checked into it and said the deal did not start until Sunday. They still managed to give me the GC though. Everything I have seen indicates it starts today. Anyway, they were taking down the ad next to the systems. For someone who asked about the Blu-Ray player... I think it is a great deal for a pure BR player, but agree without Netflix it's limited. Still a good deal though if you don't intend to stream Netflix.
  10. This link may help.. http://www.jetblue.com/deals/cyber-monday/?intcmp=HPHero1Eng_CyberMonday09&source=tznf
  11. Specifically it was for the 25 VIP stores nationwide. So for us folks in Cleveland it was the Strongsville store. First 100 people got a GC worth $5 to $100 - If you got the one $100 GC you instantly became a VIP and got in at 4:30. Check the program details on the BB website - it's all spelled out.
  12. Another sucessfull Black Friday at Best Buy. :) First in line at 9:45 AM Wednesday with two buddies of mine. The take home: 23 items for 12 different people (friends and family of course!) - Spent $3,566.37 and saved (against retail) $2,868.07. In addition, I earned $11.20 in fuel perks using gift cards so I will get $336 in free gas! What did I get for myself? Three items - 1.5 TB HDD (for me) and the Insignia 5 mp Camcorder (for one of my boys), and the $197 HP Laptop (for wifey) - total spent ~$440. Time well spent? I think so. I know 12 people that better agree. dad2trips
  13. My Best Buy is a smaller size store and the manager told me last night they have 10 of these laptops.
  14. Mostly getting things for friends and family as usual. Three laptops, 32" Sony TV, 6 cameras, 2 monitors, 1.5 tb HDD, couple of MP3 players. The 1.5 TB is for me! I have two buddies with me. Mostly do this for the campout. We have a fairly comfy setup. Here is a Youtube of last year's setup - same for this year with an upgrade to a 32" LCD and carpeting for the tent... Do a search on dad2trips and you'll find some more.
  15. Setting up right now. Best Buy in Cleveland
  16. Best Buy has the 4gb SanDisk Fuse for $44.99 (Save $35). There will be plenty of these like they had last year. You could walk in 9 AM and pick up one easily.
  17. You get a $30 gift card with purchase.
  18. I don't think anyone will be waiting in line since it is available at this price in store right now.
  19. I think if you arrive sometime after midnight you should be OK depending on the size of your store.
  20. As it stands tonight, I am buying $1900 worth of Best Buy Gift Cards (no I am not spending this all on my family) which wil give me $7.60 in fuel perk rewards. At 30 gallon maximum purchase I will receive $228 worth of free gas.
  21. Major difference I see is the processor: Walmart's eMachine - AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor TF-20 (1.6GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB) Best Buy's HP - Intel® Celeron®Processor Speed2.2GHz All other specs are comparable. Regarding the processor - Either would suffice for general usage - Microsoft Office, Internet surfing, etc. Not the gaming computer, but both at a great savings. So if you are already planning on Walmart I wouldn't change plans for this HP.
  22. http://www.bestbuy.com/doorbusters2009 $197 HP Laptop! HP – Laptop with Intel® Celeron® Processor Model: G60-507DX | SKU: 9617193 Offer available In Store only. Minimum 5 per store. Limit 1 per customer. No rainchecks. See the details.
  23. Winners get announced tomorrow - Good Luck All!
