  1. What if the twist this year is to pick the date of the first major ad??? That might make it more interesting, it's always the same early ones. Make it a big box store or something to make it harder to guess. It allows for more people to join.
  2. The best place to look is BF archives

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the Gottadeal Family
  4. I would say the easiest way is to go buy money. Figure out the amount per person by how close they are in the family. As the family grows the amount should be redirected. I've shopped for my grandparents with a family of about 30 people or so. Try making gift bags for each person, it becomes more about making sure everyone gets relatively the same item different color, but the same price. So take $15 dollars and get 3 or 4 nice items you will find it takes more time than you think. I started about July and was finished around Black Friday. It becomes more of looking for sets of 3, 5 or more items. Then you want to be mindful of the kids and make sure they get what they want from their grand parents. A reasonable amount depends on the family income and size of the family.
  5. It's just another day, but even if you don't celebrate christmas. A day off so you can spend time with the family is important. I think minor things can stay open if managers are willing to split time. The main thing to remember is that look at what has happened with Thanksgiving and Black Friday, pretty soon it will be just another day. You will lose the holiday benefit and pay, then it will you have no holidays or pay or time with your family. Where does it end, remember that Black Friday sale. That will soon stop happening, that money you save on gifts for xmas. Many people on visit Gottadeal during the Black Friday and Christmas season. Let's just get rid of every holiday, you get paid the same amount of money every day, make time with your family whenever you can. How many people keep complaining that stores are taking away time from workers on Thanksgiving, when stores make it mandatory to work a shift. Black Friday sales now start at 5 or 6 pm on Thanksgiving Thursday. Just think about the effects of one store staying open. Take Walmart or Target or your favorite name brand store, that is all it will take. Then next year every store will stay open and that so called day becomes a mandatory day to work to keep your job. You have to take the good with the bad, think about all the gifts that would be returned. How many people would honestly buy gifts for their family members if it was not part of christmas. All these extra sales the retailers will just make you pay full price for, those bonus gift cards for purchasing at their businesses. I'm not partial either way, just consider both sides of the issue. How many of you bought something on black friday sales this year? Would you pay full price for it?? Sooner or later it will come to money, The reason most stores close is because the competition stores close. If one makes a million dollars because they stay open do you really think their competitors will stay closed the next year????????
  6. I use online to do most of the items, but it's always nice if a store is close and not crazy to hit it and buy the item then. You can always return an item, but if you never get one it's hard to manufacture one.
  7. I always think its the first major ad that breaks. I stay around all year, but BF season official kickoff is like this year's Macy's AD. A major store ad means its time.
  8. The best thing to do is keep an eye on the forums as last year, Walmart had a pricing error for star wars lego set that was sold for cheaper price. Just stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled. Bear in mind that as soon as a deal is found Lego priced ones sale out fast.
  9. Don't forget to count the laptop as supplies for tax purposes.
  10. Sorry I never left, just don't post as often when there is less of a need to.
  11. If its a special bundle Halo Blue xbox white xbox and you want it grab it. Don't wait 99% of the time its the basic bundle controller, game or games that have been out awhile. Look at the current bundle offerings those will be the games unless they allow you to customize the bundle and take $10 or $15 off per game if you purchase two or three. Also don't forget about the normal 50 % off games sale around the holidays and the buy 2 get one free etc. Bottom line if you are ok with any console and games wait, if you have to have a special XBOX One, buy it lay away or just to have. They are counting on the demand for them units, and most won't be put on sale. They will always put the generic consoles on sale to increase game demands etc. Madden and all yearly games go on sale as a way to sale most of them out while they can, after the release they cut their losses on the games and still get $30 a pop instead of the normal $60 on BF.
  12. Lowe's has movers discount from the post office also I dunno if it would qualify or if you could talk to manager for gift card and then purchase directly.
  13. Here's a refurb for $287 http://http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-One-Latest-Model-500-GB-Black-Console-Without-Kinect-/321472795908 Seller has sold over 1,000 SquareTrade also has a warrenty w/ purchase if wanted. First hit on ebay.
  14. Try Raredvds.com and Blowoutflix.com I sent her a pm w/ direct links both under $20.00
  15. You've missed the killer deals for this year amazon had 75% off green toys, they had a pricing error, it was supposed to be buy one get one 75% off it was just buy one for 75% off. You snooze you lose.
  16. Hit the major stores the bigger the retailers first and work your way to smaller so Target Walmart, before a walgreens etc. Hopefully your store has kept up with the displays and everything is in a few aisles thats left and all you have to do is shop the aisle and then move on, wrapping paper, cologne, candys, anything that is seasonal should be onsale when the store opens and reduced to 70% or more within a week if it lasts that long.
  17. Helpful tip don't order anything online for pickup at stores that are on BF sales, as you may not get it for that price depending on what the items is and two if they pick it out before hand it may not ring up correctly. The other possibility is that they will sell out of it during the morning hours and when u go to pick your up surprise it's gone. They sold it, thats why most are shipping only for online BF sales.
  18. Staples 15% off In-store code: 83771 Expires 12/21/14. Cost $35 so take 15% off Instore ONLY
  19. Perhaps a nice stageit.com concert of holiday music would do the trick, you can pay as little as 10 cents and get to see live concerts from various artists. Something to take minds off the misery of the holidays and more to the enjoyment of doing something little to reward yourself and help out others.
  20. Also check your local best buy, it may not be as cheap but at this late stage in the game.
  21. Probably Nothing, the longer your around the more you realize 60 % of it is the same every year, Here's a tip like every year, order the movies online and then pickup in stores what you see that you have to have. Then a $10 dollar return is nothing. As always stay up till the ads drop order must haves then rest shop till I drop then do it again until the doorbuster prices are off sale, then return whatever I don't decide to giveaway and laugh at the suckers paying full price while returning what I don't need. B/c obviously I got a better deal, some things never change. Always make a list of Have to, Want to, Then Browsing Items. Don't fight the stores for movies fight the stores for laptops, and other items that you missed out online.
  22. $50 is going rate looks like. Last year was $15.00

    Now what?

The $100 is way to easy the biggest loser has to be bestbuy lots of returns, I can play the silly games to get free shipping, now to continue and find great deals, like a $43 Ipad Mini 3 and things of that nature, Black Friday is good b/c alot of companies put major deals on everyday products to make room for the next wave, but the best deals are when they fight hard with coupons after those prices. I enjoy returning products before xmas, just to get the sales I want LOL silly companies making it harder on themselves. Make it free shipping so that you get sales, Target sold me more this year b/c I didn't have to hassle with it like bestbuy. Don't forget to buy gift cards for yourself to your favorite places with their online or instore rewards for giving them your money. Free food with a gift card that you were going to purchase anyways, buy the gift card first and then if you have to leave and come back in and use your gift card if that the only way to get them to do it.
  24. Try gaming stores, amazon, and just stores that carry those items.
  25. The point of the forum is to share the deal with others, If your going to just make profit off the deals why should the posters bother to help you make money. Its post like these that make me cautious of what I post, do we really want to help others make a profit off an error, or a price mistake from some company when in all likelyhood I could just do the same thing myself. The more posts like these that I see the less I want to help others find a deal, we've all got the same amount of time in a day, if your out to make money you've got access to the same internet with sites that I do when I find a deal, Good Luck.
