  1. SE Wisconsin....30's and partly sunny. Pretty close to average for this time of year, can't complain!
  2. Thank you! I plan to kind of keep the overall theme kind of low key. It's a pretty small office but I wanted to include all of our office members and patients in the holiday celebration.
  3. I work for a very small company. I want to decorate the office for the holidays. I'm going to put up some Christmas things that I'm bringing from home but I need to incorporate Hanukkah also because almost all of my staff is Jewish. I have no idea what get. Can someone give me some ideas?
  4. You can do layaway on the pre BF items though!
  5. We got one. It's not a smart tv and also only has two HDMI ports which is less than ideal. Otherwise, it was worth the price for us.
  6. We were able to get the 50 in LG tv for $460 and put it on layaway. We figured it's close enough to the sale price and worth it to not have to fight for a tv on BF. We are in the Milwaukee area.
  7. I finally had to take a look this morning too. I hadn't seen it because I don't watch much TV. My ds12 and dd15 both watched it with me. They thought it was hilarious. It made me smile but it wasn't the funniest thing ever. I still think their "Ship My Pants" commercial was much better!
  8. I was expecting them to be more embellished! Like something my grandma would have worn...she was the queen of silly (and not so attractive) Christmas sweaters and sweatshirts.
  9. I think this is different than the 30 day money back guarantee because you don't have to pay anything up front. Just put it in your cart, it shows as $0 and you don't get charged unless you keep it past 30 days. I am having the Kindle HDX 7 in shipped to me for my dd. I literally paid nothing. If she likes it, great and we'll keep it. If not, it's going back and we'll pick up the iPad mini on BF.
  10. I got an email from Amazon today, offering any of the Kindle Fires free for 30 days. This might be a good way for someone on the fence to try it out before committing. With Amazon Prime, it ships free too so nothing out of pocket.
  11. Thank you for all the suggestions! I will be checking them out!
  12. So, not really odd but my ds12 told me after school that instead of presents, he would just like us to give him money this year. $600, to be exact. I told him that I would discuss that with his father. He pretty much knows what that means.
  13. Oh boy...confession time, I guess. I've gotten exactly one gift (that happened to be a deal posted on here a couple of days ago). Because of some ongoing scary health issues, I haven't exactly been focused on shopping as much. Hoping to get back on track soon but no matter what, everyone will get something under the tree!
  14. Thank you for bringing this thread back! I always love to see the funny requests. It makes my day!
  15. My dd is 15. Last year it was mostly clothes, riding lessons, and the new iPod 5th gen. She rarely asks for anything at all so I just pick what I would have liked at that age. -gift cards are always a hit because they like to pick out their own clothing -a cute little purse for school since alot of schools don't allow them to carry around backpacks anymore(dd got her first Coach purse at 13 because I found a great deal at the outlet) -movie tickets, restaurant gift cards, a season pass to amusement park or pool (something to do with friends) -gift certificate to get her hair done at a salon, or mani/pedi at salon -a new comforter/pillows for her bedroom I will keep thinking....I love this age for shopping! So many possibilities!
  16. Pet costume contest....submit photos of your pets dressed or decorated for the holidays. Choose cutest, funniest, most creative, etc. Strangest/funniest gift request...I always love this thread every year. Maybe turn it into a contest?
  17. My husband is a trucker too. I definitely second the above list (especially #2 and #15). We live where it's really cold in the winter and even insulated coffee mugs don't stay hot long so we got him an electric one to plug into the inverter. He loves that thing. A really warm pair of gloves and warm socks helps too. He drives with another guy as a team too so we also got them a hot plate for the truck so they can warm up things like soup, spaghetti-o's and ramen. Cuts down on the cost of food, for sure. And they have two coolers that plug into the lighter or the inverter that they keep snacks and drinks in...one in the front of the truck and one in back for whoever isn't driving. They like to get funny things to put on their dashboards too, like Buddy Christ and the hula dancer lady. The other thing that both guys like that I haven't seen mentioned is audiobooks. They say it's a nice break from the sirius radio now and then.
  18. It appears that I've missed the sign up too. Well, please let me know if you find yourself needing an extra to even something out or maybe a last minute elf?
  19. My son is taking drum lessons and needs a decent full size set (not a kids student/toy set) for home. I have no idea where to get them. I know there is a store here in town that has great deals at times but wondered if anyone knew of any other place online? Thanks!
  20. I'm looking for Lego Mindstorms. My ds is doing First Lego League this year and we can kind of see that he might have these on his Christmas list. Where is the best place to buy these, does anyone know? We do have a Lego store here...is that the best place to look?
  21. OMG. I have to pee sooooo bad and this line is soooo long. First one to punch a store employee? Nice, dude. Fist bumps! Will play for doorbusters.
  22. Got mine and activated it with no issues last night.
  23. Strolled into Walmart at 7:45 pm. Proceeded to go and grab all of the items that we wanted (mostly 10 pm items) right when we got there and then just waited around until they let us check out at just before 10. Everyone (shoppers and employees) was polite and well-behaved as usual. Got: -Nikon 16 MP camera $69 -Camera bag $5 -Men's pj pants $6 -2 laptop sleeve/wireless mouse combo packs $18/each -Boost mobile cell phone $39 -Hunger Games 2 disc DVD $12(?) -16 gb SD card for camera $9 Aaaaannnnd, that's gonna be it for BF this year. Leaving for Orlando Saturday and need to save extra $$ for the trip.
  24. Wondering how that would be possible when their layaway area is closed until 9am-after all of the big sales are over?
  25. Saw on our morning news show today....5 tents outside of Best Buy in Delafield, WI, some have been there since yesterday. Probably taking advantage of our well above average temperatures this year! http://www.wkow.com/story/20127819/black-shoppers-already-camping-out-in-delafield
