tn20 replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Sorry, I don't have links... my connection is bad and I can't get Amazon to load right now, but... Wii We Cheer 2 Was: $39.99 Now: $19.99 Really good reviews on this one! Nerf Armor for Nintendo DS, Black and White only Was $14.99 Now $ 9.99 -
WOW! Thankfully my boys lists, according to what they told me last night are... DS7: "I want 2 new games for my Nintendo DS and some toys and the Wii hunting game with the gun for Daddy so I can watch him play." What games does he want? "Um, Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones." (Which I just so happened to have ordered from WM.com about 2 weeks ago, 2/$30...woo hoo!) DS4: "My want toys." When I asked what kind of toys, he said, "Fun ones! Like the hippos that eat the balls." (Hungry Hungry Hippos? That I can do!) DFosterS2: "Lots and lots of cars!" (The kid is obsessed with Hot Wheels!) DFosterD3months: Obviously doesn't have a list, but if she did, I think a nice, warm bottle full of formula would be at the top of it. :) Things are tight for us this year (DH only worked 7 days this month and will work 7 days next month... But at least my kids won't be disapointed with what they get for Christmas... they've set the bar so low that they're sure to be thrilled with what they're getting!

The Holiday Movie Tournament!! Get your entries in NOW!!!!!!
tn20 replied to Scanner420's topic in 2009
What is the Holiday Movie Tournament? :) Most of my favorites are already listed, but I also love Jim Hensen's The Christmas Toy and Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer are classics. -
Ooh, I would have to say that my favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving is our Bourbon-Gingersnap Ham... SOOO good! My mom makes the best sour cream and chive potatoes, so those would be a close second. My favorite leftover is a Thanksgiving sandwich. Homemade roll from MIL, slice of turkey, stuffing, lots of cranberry sauce. MMM! Last night I was reading a Thanksgiving story to my kids and my DS7 kept groaning. I would SHH him and keep reading but finally I asked why he was making all that noise. He said, "I just want to eat all that food right now!" LOL. His favorite is jellied cranberry sauce. The kid will open a can of it anytime of year and eat it plain, by the spoonful.

My church youth group during high school used to do this. We would hide in some bushes or something and watch. It was so nice, and sad at the same time, to watch the people's faces when they realized what was in the box.

OMGosh, how cute!!! I wish I wasn't so creatively inept! And how kind of you to devote so much time to helping others! You aren't only making them food, you're putting a lot of time and effort into making a special dinner. I hope everything goes perfectly for your dinner and God bless!

Will the discounted DVD's and Blu Ray's be available online?
tn20 replied to rascalking's topic in 2009
Ooh, I hope they do again this year! 75% of the items I want to pick up on BF are Wii and DS games and DVDs. Plus, I have Prime, so it would be SOO nice to just order from Amazon instead of battling the crowds just for DVDs! -
If you live near an Albertsons check them out! Today I got a 22 pound turkey for $5.06- $.23/lb with additional $25 purchase. They have Stove Top for $.87, Princella sweet potatoes (bigger can) for $.97/can, Campbell's canned gravy for $.47 a can, Philly cream cheese .88/brick... lots of good deals to get you to the $25!

MMM... there are so many recipes that sound SO yummy! I'm going to have to run them by DH and see what he wants to do! Thank you so much everyone! And if anyone else wants to share, please do! I had thought about this, but we decided that we wanted to try something new. Grandma's stuffing is good, but we tend to like a lot of flavor where Grandma's stuffing is very old fashioned. It probably came across on the Mayflower.

DVD: Merry Madagascar (Exclusive) (Widescreen) $5 ($7.99)@ walmart.com
tn20 replied to elite2058's topic in Online Hot Deals
The shows are really short... I think 22 and 12 minutes each, but, at least Merry Madagascar (I haven't seen the Penguins yet) is REALLY cute! We DVRd it last night and my boys have already watched it 3 times. So even if $8 isn't a GREAT price for 34 minutes of movie, I think that the show is well worth it! Kind of like Shrek the Halls last year. Short, but a lot of fun and worth the price. -
See, I am just completely clueless about this. What kinds of seasonings do you put in there? And how much of them? I looked up some cranberry-apple stuffing recipes that sounded good to me, but the reviews were so mixed on them that I wasn't sure.
-
I have never made homemade stuffing before. Usually stuffing is left up to my grandma. And when I make it for dinner, I use Stove Top. But my grandma won't be coming over for Thanksgiving this year and I really want to make a yummy homemade stuffing (maybe I should be calling it dressing, as we will not be stuffing it in the turkey). Does anyone have a great stuffing/dressing recipe that they are willing to share?

I know how you feel! My sister and my favorite Christmas show growing up was Jim Hensen's A Christmas Toy. We had a tape that was recorded off tv and played so many times that it quit working. About 5 years ago I bought a new VHS copy of it off ebay for, well, a lot of money, but I was SOOO happy! Then I actually had to buy a VHS player just to play the darn thing. So then last year or the year before, I find that they released it on DVD. I went to go and buy it but I saw in a review that they removed the scenes with Kermit the Frog because whoever had the rights to the other muppets in the movie didn't have the rights to Kermit. I was SO disapointed! It wouldn't be the same without Kermit! So I didn't buy the DVD and I am rationing my tape... I don't want it to wear out, so I won't let my kids watch it more than 1 time a week.

Well, I see some board games, DVDs (I'm actually more interested in the $9 ones than the $2 ones- we don't have Monsters VS. Aliens yet, and my boys want Aliens in the Attic), and possibly some DS and Wii games, depending on which ones are actually included in the $7, $10, and $25 price points that aren't pictured. Amazon seems to lower their prices on the same items when WM does a roll back or sale. Does anyone know if Amazon will try matching WM BF deals or will they just do their own thing? I'm just wondering how DH and I are going to get everything we want... especially if WM is having people line up. Hopefully that's just for the bigger items!

Ooh, I'm excited! I hope its good...

I *think* the Play Doh center is on Kmart's Thanksgiving Day ad for $24.99...? I'll have to go check. EDIT: Kmart has it for $19.99 in the TDay Ad!

Take $10 Off Your $10 Purchase w/code @ Torrid.com
tn20 replied to noehlp's topic in Online Hot Deals
Thanks for the info, noehlp! Too bad the shipping is so high, though. It kind of negates the savings... the wallet, for example... $11.98-$10=$1.98 + $7.95 = $9.93. Too much for something I don't actually need. -

Thanks for posting... I wonder what their shipping prices are like. (I'm waiting for their site to load right now- stupid dial up!) -
According to my Amazon account history, I placed all of my toy sale orders between December 3rd and the 14th! We SO don't need anything, but I cannot wait for them to start marking down their toys! Last year I was able to return several things to WM, KM, etc. because I found them for MUCH cheaper through Amazon. Plus, this year I have Prime shipping, so I don't have to worry about getting to $25 for free shipping!

Official Photo Prints Deals, Codes & Discount Offers Thread
tn20 replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
Does anyone have any experience with vistaprint? I've never ordered from the before but their site seemed a little TOO cheap, if you know what I mean. Are their items quality? I'm looking into calendars, mugs, and photo books. TIA! -

tn20 replied to elite2058's topic in Online Hot Deals

Be Careful With Walmart's Pricing
tn20 replied to bfaddict1977's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
A few years ago DH and I noticed several dog houses outside our local WM with a big sign saying $15. We grabbed one and took it inside, where it rang up at $70. When we told the cashier that the sign said $15, she just stared at us, then finally said, "Well, the sign was wrong. Should I put this back?" DH said, "No, you need to call your manager over to override the price to $15." After staring at us for what seemed like an hour without saying anything, she finally called her manager over who said, "There is no way that we'll sell that for $15!" So I asked for the number for their district manager. The manager got all flustered and practically pushed the cashier out of the way, overrode the price to $15, then picked up the phone and told someone to get out there NOW and change that sign. Two days later we drove past WM and the sign still read $15. -
We have Hyper Dash, too, and when we bought it last year, it had really good reviews. No problems with it here and now I'm considering buying the Mouse-ke-tag for my soon-to-be 4 year old. I would have to hesitation what-so-ever, except my kids all have SOOO many gifts already!
