  1. I got a wireless router there Sunday they price matched for me plus the 10% off. They will even match online prices they just won't take 10% off. Tools is the big thing they price match, lots of craftman price matching when Sears puts there tools on sale. You just have to ask for it. Any cashier can do it for you, you don't even have to go to the service desk.
  2. Does everyone realize that Home Depot has always had price matching plus?? If you find a item for a lower price they give you that price plus 10% off and that includes sale prices. It does not even have to be an exact item just a similar item with the same specs.
  3. There is a user manual on the hard drive if you need it, or you can download it. The extended warranty was $68 and adds an additional 2 years to the included 1 year. It actually is a good warranty from what I understand.
  4. I love mine. I gave up my desktop which was my plan all along. My battery lasts a little over 2 hours, no heat problems. Already ordered more memory which is the only thing it needs. I got the extended warranty from Wal-Mart so I am all set for 3 years. No dead or stuck pixels. I did my homework before I bought my laptop and knew I wanted a sempron or turion processor with the amd chipset so when I found out this was going to be $399 and then $378 I knew I had found my laptop.
  5. What kind of graphics does this thing have? Something decent or crappy intel?
  6. I personally would not buy a laptop with a celeron processor. I love AMD and the thing that get me is that no one seems to understand that with a laptop you cannot upgrade the video card. The wm laptop and most of the ones with amd processors have the radeon motherboard with built in ati graphics. Most (not all) celeron and pentium laptops have intel graphics, they wont even run the sims and visual effects in media player even tax them. I am also sure that you have heard of Windows Vista, it is coming next year, a laptop with the ATI graphics is already vista ready, the intel graphics of most intel systems, including all the Dell's I have seen are not fully Vista ready and will only barely run it. I have been shopping for a laptop for the past 6 months, I was waiting for the Emachine laptop that Wal-Mart just got but when I saw the bf HP laptop at wm I got that. You get what you pay for........ I just wished that everyone on here understood how important video is in a laptop because it is not upgradeable. Yea I am a techie......if someone can find a Dell with a decent video subsystem not the intel crap for a decent price let me know...... I don't care if it is Toshiba, Dell, IBM, or HP a laptop has to have a good foundation to start with and amd/ati are a good foundation. Just keep pushing the cheap dells and toshibas with the inferior graphics and when you decide to play something like the sims and it is a slide show you will wished you had done your research. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2526

    Any injuries?!

I was number one in line outside a non-supercenter walmart and there was a nice older man behind me as number two, they opened the doors and off we went as we turned the corner toward electronics he fell down, but to my amazement he jumped right back up and got his laptop...
  8. I won't be returning anything unless something breaks.......crossing fingers
  9. About $700 here. $380 laptop + $70 warranty 100 tv/dvd $50 game boy $100 give or take, misc stuff, blank dvds etc...
  10. That is a very similar laptop. They have had that one for sometime and I was going to get myself one of them until I saw the bf ads. The specs are the same but they have a different model#
  11. Home Depot in my town had quite a few of each of their big items but still ran out around 10, so they just started giving away the store....... They got an email from corp that instructed them to do so. They took their larger and more powerful shop vacs and match the price of the one they had in the ad. So you could get a $100 Ridgid shop vac for $25. They took the Ryobi drill/flashlight set w/2 batteries and match the sale price for drill alone and when those were all gone they announced that if you purchased any cordless drill over $69 you would get an instant $40 off at the register. People were buying them like crazy. That is the way bf should be. Home Depot did good this year and they are going to continue this kind of stuff all weekend. I am just happy I don't have to work....
  12. I use layaway just for the same reason ryka. I put a big layaway in usually in Septemeber with most of my Christmas items. I usually pay the entire balance except for about $20 that way they have to store it and my shopping is done. If I miss out on BF deal so be it my stuff is already taken care of.
  13. Hmmm....Poplar Bluff MO is my hometown. The Wal-Mart there is one of the top 10 for sales in the country and everyone is very friendly there, the odd time I have had something ring up incorrectly they corrected it without question. I work retail and I know how people can get really mad quickly, they accidentally pick up the wrong size or scent of an item etc....
  14. I got my laptop. I was there at 2 and was first in line.
  15. I will be working at Home Depot Friday and Saturday evening. It is gonna be rough, got up at 8 this morning, no sleep today or tonight in line at 2 and shop all morning then to work at noon. By the time I get off work tomorrow at 10 I will have been up 38 hours.
  16. I have a few Wal-Mart's in my area, all are supercenters but one, I have called all of them, the supercenters have 30 laptops the non supercenter has 12 but it is the only store in the town. I am going there at 2am with my thermos and camping out. I expect everyone else to drive the 30 miles so they can hit all the stores. My luck is that eveyone will think like me and head down to the small town.

    Secret Santa IMO

    How about a music CD?
  20. Just a little FYI, Sam's Club has a pretty good selection of shows on DVD, at least my local one does, I generally record them myself on my computer and burn them to dvd so I did not pour over the selection, but it might be worth a look.
  21. YAWWWNNNN!!! What is everyone up to? I just woke up......
  22. I also hide my unwrapped presents in the tree box, nobody thinks to look there either. I could also hide them in the laundry hamper at my house, none of the boys seem to realize that we even have one judging by the piles of clothes laying around their bathroom.
  23. I got everything I wanted and was shocked by the light traffic in all the stores I went to. I must say Best Buy was the busiest, but they had some really good unadvertised specials. All Fuji brand Blank DVD and CD were HALF price. I got a 100 pack 8x for just over $25, awesome deal. All in all this was the best BF for me. I just got back from Wal-Mart this evening and they still have pallets and pallets of everything, I picked up a couple of game boys, a dual screen dvd player for the van, and a portable dvd player, all of which were 6-11 special and all of which they still had plenty of.
  24. Wow, small world. Looking forward to getting out early on Friday, I have not made up my mind where I am heading first yet.
  25. Teresa92 where in Missouri are you, those are the exact ads I got in my paper here in Poplar Bluff MO
