  1. The two things I am really looking for on BF are Blank DVD's and a couple of large fast hard drives. I have poured over the forums and looked at ad scans but can't decide what may be the best buys. I don't get the Office Max ad in my area but having heard that they have a 200gig drive for $49 after rebate I am willing to drive the hour to camp out. I know there is a rebate involved but not sure of the amount. Does anyone know? Office Max also has some blank DVD's on sale does anyone know the quality of these and if there are any better deals out there. I know I can get a 160 gig HD at Sams for $80 everyday, hopefully the Office Max deal has some instant rebate in conjunction with a mail in so I will not be out $150 waiting on a rebate that may never come. Has anyone seen the ad? Can they fill me in on the details. Thanks, Jeff
  2. I kinda wonder about this. We should boycott The Home Depot because they don't want their ads posted on the internet. It is their property and their right not to want them posted until they get ready to release them. Someone suggests boycotting Target because they have turned away a charity and everyone here is like.....wait wait a minute, no reason to do that now....lets not get hasty and go doing that, they might have something I want. So what the group is saying is I have every right to learn about every way to save a penny and be damned if someone wants to stop me then lets just let them have it, lets boycott, lets talk bad about them, lets bash them. If another corporation wants to shun charitable organizations then that is ok, it makes me not feel so bad because I don't have to deal with it.......but I got their ad and that is all that matters. I bet a lot of people here do not realize what Home Depot gives back to the community, millions, every year and in every way. I am a little perturbed at the hipocritical nature that this board has taken and I will probably just fade into obscurity after reading the posts from the past few days but it is a sad day to see how some people behave and over-react about some things and will just say nothing about others. I myself do not have a lot of money, I work hard for what I get, I love a good deal, I can't wait for the ads to come out. I also volunteer my time to my community, I have 4 boys and finding time is hard to do but I do it. I don't always have money to give to the Santa's outside the store but sometimes I give the 50 cents that would have bought me a soda while shopping for the greater good. I am not condoning the Salvation Army we do not have them around here, but we have other organizations and they are allowed to set up at my local stores. It is just a little disheartening to see how people act and feel, especially as we begin the season of giving. I am rambling....... so I will sign off.
  3. I think I might be in the market for a new LCD monitor. Is the one at Office Depot a good buy? Should I look elsewhere? Wait a little while? 17" for $199 sounds pretty good, and I know from personal experience that KDS is a good brand.
  4. Hastings 8
  5. If the one at Wal-Mart is the SP, I will take as many as I can get my hands on...... I could make a killing on ebay with those.
  6. I am a manager where I work and I do the schedule for my dept. I conveniently scheduled myself off for BF, but the higher ups decreed that all managers have to work BF, so I just threw myself in to close. Hopefully I can have all my shopping wrapped up by noon.
  7. Sams Club has a Video Now Color gift set that includes the player, case, headphones, and 3 disks for less than $70. I already bought it but still hoping someone has a better deal on BF. It would be great if Wal-Mart actually had the color one at a good price.
  8. Home Depot will have BF deals this year, just like last year. They already have some of the items in the overhead. I will try to get a list and post it on here.
  9. Lucky you, I love roller coasters. The closest thing to me is Six Flags St. Louis about 2 hours away. I have always wanted to make a trip to Cedar Point.
  10. Anyone heard anything about Office Depot yet? Not much in my area so this is one of the stores I hit.
  11. You can find them previously rented and at really good prices from $5 to $20 at some video stores. Since they use a cartridge they don't get scratched or wear out. Carefully pull the rental label off and voila a great looking game at a good price. I got Mario Kart Double Dash for GameCube at Hastings today, previously rented for $20. I saved about $30.
  12. I remember my first BF a few years ago. I had no idea what it was all about. I was working overnight and got off at 6am. I thought no bid deal the sale runs from 6-10 plenty of time. By the time I got to Wal-Mart I had to park a mile away and then got only one of the three things on my list. Ever since then I get there before 3am just to be sure.
  13. Big Lots is a big deal in my area. They have given something free every year to the first 50 or so. I have never got in on the deals there. Do they usually have anything worth waiting for?
  14. I found out yesterday that everyone is coming to my house for Thanks giving. So I promptly emailed them a list of items to bring.....
  15. I think it is more of a Home Improvement store that has an expanded softline. It is a major competitor to Home Depot (my employer) in certain areas. I have seen them in Illinois and Indiana while on trips, so I am not sure where their majority of stores are located.
  16. I live in a small town. We have no Best Buy, Circuit City, or CompUSA in my town. WallyWorld, Kmart, Office Depot, Radio Shack, Home Depot, Fred's, and Hasting's is about all we have. They usually have some pretty good deals but I have not heard what they might be yet this year. They open at 8 which makes it perfect for me. I can get to Wal-Mart get my stuff, run to Fred's get some candles or other crap like that for people on my list, hit Office Depot for what little computer stuff they might have on special and still get to Hasting's in time for the free coffe, cocoa, and Krispy Kremes.
  17. I got a new camera phone for my birthday this year. I think I will take some pictures of the crazies this year. Jeff
  18. I have never been to a Menard's. Nothing like that in my little town. Sounds like I am missing out.
  19. It is hilarious, but I think the day after Christmas is even better, at least at my Wal-Mart. The crazy people here actually chuck the 50% off lights an ornaments throught the air to their waiting husbands. Every year the same people buying the same lights? I guess I am one of the few that actually take my lights down and save them to use again rather than throw them away??????
  20. This is on my to buy list for BF. I don't care about the features. Just want something to keep the kids occupied on my planned trip to Cedar Point this summer. Hope they have plenty in stock. Does anyone know the opening time for Radio Shack on BF? Jeff
  21. How about world peace??? Nah...... Gimme a Sharp Aquos LCD TV.
  22. I was also wondering that? Anyone?
  23. I always arrive early at my 24 hour Supercenter just so I know where everything I want is. They have the items palletized and well shrink wrapped with an employee guarding each one. At 6am they start cutting the wrap and it is everyone for themselves. It is so much fun......
  24. Hello Everyone!!! Let's see.. Location: I live in Poplar Bluff MO, small town about 2 hours south of St. Louis on the AR border. State of Mind: Dazed and Confused...... Full time job, 4 Boys.....what would your state of mind be?? I am divorced 5+ years but have been in a relationship for 4+ I love gottadeal, I am the kind of person who has to know more than the next and know it first. I tell all my coworkers at The Home Depot about this site. I am always excited about Black Friday. Even if nothing I want is on sale, I will still be at Wal-Mart at 1-2am just to check it out. Keep up the good work everyone and LONG LIVE Ebay. Jeff
