Weather Forcasts in your area.......any White Christmas'??
tjredsox4 replied to Scanner420's topic in 2007
No new snow in Massachusetts but we still have some from last weekend. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40's. -
5A04 FK0J 0KBM to first person who wants it. I usually throw them away but now I will start posting them. Happy holidays to all.

I have put pringles chips, soda cans, canned mandarin oranges, real orange or apple, banana or a favorite snack or drink. Something that both my kids like now is Propel water so that is something I may pick up today when I finish my food shopping.

I worked at a doctor's office until last December. About half of our doctor's were Jewish, but they still gave us a wonderful Christmas party at decent restaurant, we had a holiday luncheon, our supervisors always got us a gift and we got a bonus. My first year there I started in September and got $50. Every year after I got $200 after taxes. The employees who were there a lot longer got more but that was more than generous. I worked there for 5 years before I quit to stay home with ds2. I work at home doing Medical Transcription and my company, who only have 3 or 4 employees in office, the rest are at home typists, sent me a $20 GC to a supermarket in my area. I thought that this was a nice gesture for such a small company. I also got this last year and I only started last September working about 30 minutes to an hour per night during the week.

As a fill in gift I will sometimes buy something like a bag of doritos or whatever is one of the favorites of the child I am trying to catch up or a bottle of their favorite, soda, juice, etc. that is just for them. I know when I still lived at home I loved getting my own snacks or drinks because there was never anything left with my dad, brother and sister eating or drinking what I liked. This year I bought a container of Pringles for each of my kids and my daughter is getting a deck of cards since she likes to play solitaire. Sometimes gum (if children are allowed to chew it) is popular for teenagers since they like to share it at school. My daughter and neice are always buying gum for school for them and their friends. Hope this is of some help. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

When we had a cat we had to tie the tree to something so the cat didn't knock it over. My dad usually tied it to the curtain hooks or a nail above the windows. Maybe you could do something like this. HTH

My son's half sister wants a pink football and I haven't been able to find one anywhere around here. It does not have to be before Christmas. Please help.

I did that this year. I wrapped my ds and dd in a special wrapping paper, hers is ornaments and his is santas but I didn't put names on them. She is 11 and doesn't believe so I did not want her to try and guess when the gifts were under the tree Christmas morning if she got up before me. Ds is only 2 so wouldn't know the difference, he just likes presents

We will be needing Batteries for this Christmas
tjredsox4 replied to bopen's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
The brand is batteries.com and they work pretty good. Before I ordered them, the threads I read said that they lasted quite a while even when used in kid's toys that are used all the time. -
Good deals on toys for boys?
tjredsox4 replied to oglitterkittyo's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Sometimes Walgreens has Buy 2 get 1 free on their toys and they are not too expensive. Another possibility is flea markets, in the area where I live at the flea markets, they have sections with brand new items and I picked up Uno cards for $1, for little kids a dish set with cup, bowl and plate with characters on them for $1 set. I picked up Diego dishes for my 2 year old ds who loves Diego. Also Kmart also has at least 80% backpacks at my store so a few weeks ago I got a Diego backpack for $3 and I have heard of some Kmarts having backpacks for $1 on clearance. HTH -
I was researching plans for my sister and at the website for net 10 with the purchase of most of the phones, you get a free 300 minutes, you get 100 free when activated, you get another 100 when you a add a card and you get the third 100 when you activate a second card, so you buy the phone and in the end also get 300 free minutes. My sister is going to buy this for my 12 year old niece for Christmas and see how responsible she can be before thinking of adding her to our monthly family plan at T-Mobile. Good luck.

Sometimes I will go to iparty or Party Warehouse if I want something especially if Walmart doesn't carry it.

Confirmed: CompUSA going out of business in January
tjredsox4 replied to Brad's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My mother went to the one in Holyoke yesterday and they didn't have any signs up or any good sales yet. She is going to keep checking because she likes to buy her computer equipment there. She was disappointed yesterday when I told her they were closing. They will probably wait till after Christmas to start sales. -
I was at a flea market last weekend and at one booth a lady makes baskets, she had one with dessert dishes and boxes of pudding. This week in walgreen's flier, they had a coupon for 4 dessert cups for $1.00, if you could get a couple of fliers and make a few trips, you could get these and give each employee 2 cups with either a box or two of pudding or jello. I know we have a store here in Chicopee where I can buy pudding 3/1.00 and jellow 4/1.00. This wouldn't amount to very much and it is very cute and good for both males and females. Good luck.

I went to a craft fair this year and my niece bought a pretty hanging that was made out of blank cd's. The lady who made them said she prints pictures off the computer and sticks them on the blank cd or dvd. She then uses toothpicks to put on rickrack, ribbon, paint or whatever else you want to put around the outside. She then puts a ribbon at top to hang up with. If you want to connect 2 or three, she puts ribbon between two cds to make it a hanging. You can use personal pictures if you want. I want to try this but I will not have time this year due to moving in 2 weeks. It was really pretty.

Last week I bought a $10 GC for a restaurant near my house for $1.20 with 60% off. Previously, I had asked at the restaurant if they still accepted coupons from Restaurant.com and she said yes. I also asked if it was good in both locations since they recently opened up the one near me and it isn't listed. She said I could use it either Cote's Restaurant.

My two year old son takes all the ornaments off, so when I put them back on, my tree is bare on the bottom because I put everything on top. I need to buy more anyway, but I'm afraid to buy glass in case he breaks them.

What does Walmart expect people who don't have computers or the Internet to do. If the only place to look at their flier is online, it doesn't help anyone who doesn't have access to it. Until I started working from home, I didn't have a computer either. A few friends of mine still don't.

Buy.com orders getting cancelled
tjredsox4 replied to ksj0225's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I had an order cancelled yesterday. It said it was my credit card but there was nothing wrong with it. Oh well, I'll order from someone else. -
Official Restaurant.com Coupon/Discount Thread
tjredsox4 replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
I believe your total order must be at least $35 to use the $25 GC at some of the restaurants or something like that. The $10 GC for the restaurant near me say order needs to be at least $15 to use $10 gift card which is not bad, there are some other $10 GC for restaurants in my area that can only be used for lunch and must have minimum of 2 people in party, but as long as you read them before ordering you will know what restrictions there are. Also, if you want to make sure a restaurant in your area that is listed on Restaurant. com takes them you can always call them before ordering and asking if they will accept Restaurant.com GC. -
Official Restaurant.com Coupon/Discount Thread
tjredsox4 replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
I ordered some of these for a small diner in my city. This diner just opened a second restaurant by my house. I asked if they would accept it even though it says only the original restaurant's address and she said they would accept it at either diner. For this place they had the $10 GC for $3 and I got one for a friend who always goes there. Also, Restaurant.com says if you get one and it is denied by restaurant let them and they will give you credit or let you get another GC I believe. -
Out of 5 papers between me, my family and one of my neighbors none of them bought or delivered had the Walmart ad.

*** Official WHAT DID YOU GET? / YOUR EXPERIENCES Discussion Thread ***
tjredsox4 replied to JeffDowney's topic in 2007
I went to Walmart in Hadley, MA. Got there at about 4:15 and was about 50 in line. I was getting the Lexmark printer. They usually have what we need in Hadley and they handed out maps of where everything was located 5 minutes before opening. My sister called her friend who works at Walmart in Chicopee and at the same time there were about 1000 or more people in line. We used to go to Chicopee because it's closer, but they would run out and when we went to Hadley they always had what Chicopee ran out of. Another reason we go to Hadley is Target, our second store is right across the street and in Chicopee we would have to go Holyoke Mall which is a madhouse on bf. I got everything I needed at Walmart except the boys pj's for $5 because they never got them in. On the way home, we stopped at Kmart in Holyoke and my sister finally found the pink and crimson DS systems so she put them on layaway and I price adjusted a phone I bought last week and saved $7. We were home by 8:00. Hope everyone has fun and gets most of what they wanted. -
