  1. In the store where I work we already have some mini choppers for under $5. May want to check your local store. May be worth paying $2 more than being stampeded over.
  2. I work for Walmart. We price match with these rules. The competitor ad MUST show a specific price (no % off for example), MUST be the EXACT same item listed in the competitor ad. You're not required to have the ad but the store may call if the price seems too low. It really pays to come prepared. I work in a rural store, with no competitors, however, we price match Target, Best Buy, TRU, which is 30 miles away. Also, on Black Friday if you ad match, it must be in the same time period as the competitor sale. We do not match other Walmart stores, Walmart.com, ANY .com competitor. Also, Layaway will close from 5PM Thanksgiving until 9AM the Saturday after Black Friday. Hope this helps.
  3. ALL the Wii's can lie flat. This wii will play your Gamecube games. Anyone who tells you otherwise is misinformed.
  4. Had some in TN before xmas at that price. They flew off the shelves.
  5. The 46" Sony TV and PS3 bundle is an AWESOME deal.
  6. I guess all WM's are different because the store I work for is going to have "Big Ticket" lines forming at 1AM local time. When you get into the line you will be given a piece of paper indicating which line you're in. If you must leave the time limit is 15 minutes. There will be maps at the front as you come in indicating where "event" items will be located. Of course, each store has a different manager but the rules shouldn't deviate too much. If it wasn't for me working at WM I would be home in a toasty warm bed. I'm not into the drama BF brings out of people. I do laugh a lot. It's the best day to people watch and trade stories in the breakroom of the customers we have encountered.
  7. Direct your anger toward your elected officials. Not WM's fault you have stupid folks in OKC making stupid laws.
  8. As long as TRU is considered a local competitor and the ad shows a specific price and it is the EXACT same item your WM should comp beginning at midnight. I live in a rural town and WM is the only retailer. We comp ads from Nashville which is 60 miles away. I am planning on bringing in ads from other retailers and comping prices for customers.
  9. The Kodak wireless is a great deal. I have a Kodak printer I purchased from Best Buy last year on sale and it was $150. Also, Kodak ink is $10 for black and $15 for color.
  10. Walmart is allowing for 15 minute smoke/restroom breaks. Each line for big ticket items (TV's, laptops, etc) will be supervised by several associates. If you need to excuse yourself you will be given a "pass". This pass is good for 15 minutes. If you're not back in 15 minutes your place in line is forfeited.
  11. Just go to Walmart. They price match BF ads. Never had a prob myself. I do work there and normally run a register that day. I always bring in the BF ads myself for personal use AND to let customers peruse. I override anything that is cheaper than our price.
  12. The ONLY items for the Secret Sale this Saturday is cell phones. NO WII'S.
  13. Amazing how a holiday like Christmas, (which is NOT about presents for kids), brings out the whiners and greedy people. If you don't like a store's policy don't shop there. I am sure the folks who would have heard your whining complaints will thank you for NOT stopping by.
  14. I work for Walmart but go to Kohl's religiously. Their sales (especially end of season) are fantastic. I purchased a Chaps jacket in March 2009 for under $30 after using my Kohl's card and a 30% off coupon. I saw the same jacket last month for $250 in Kohl's. I purchase 90% of my clothing there in addition to seasonal items (Halloween and Christmas). If you're a cardholder and can wait for their monthly 30% off coupons the deals can't be beat!!!
  15. Hopefully the economy will force the kooks to stay home. It's a shame and a disgrace when people behave like children over saving a few dollars on things they don't really need. No wonder Amerocans have such a bad rep in the world. I've never seen anything in ANY ad that would make me push, shove, curse, trample or otherwise be rude to another human.
  16. I work for Walmart and can neither confirm or deny the new name. ;-)
  17. I work at Walmart and actually am over Site to Store. The only thing that changes around the holiday for Site to Store is that we keep items for 28 days instead of 21 days. After 28 days it is sent back or stocked on the shelf.
  18. to stay on topic: Halloween candy should be set at Walmart next week. Decorations, etc... the week after next. Glad I live in the US. We have choices where we work. If we CHOOSE to marry and have kids we need to have the funds to support them. If you're skilled only for retail and don't have a lot of resources ($$), don't make babies. Remain single. Don't blame the employer.
  19. I agree 50sjayne. Due to my employment at Walmart I am able to support myself, own my own home, have 2 cars (one brand new, the other 3 years old) in my driveway, a retirement account, profit sharing, discount on hotels, theme parks, cruises, etc..., an insurance policy that pays 80% of medical bills (if they go over $5,000 my insurance covers 100%). I sure wish I had a union representing me like GM and Chrysler. I am soooooo jealous of Chrysler and GM employees right now. Hope you recognize sarcasm!!!!
  20. Visited the Murfreesboro, TN Lowes today and got some items for my Christmas village. A lot of stuff was gone.
  21. Wal-Mart lost? lol I know personally that one location had over $1 million dollars in sales for Friday. If that's losing, count me in.
  22. Hershey Pot of Gold candy. $3.98 at K Mart. $6.99 at W-M. Will also match some Wii games and DVD's and Blu Ray.
  23. This blu ray will not play ALL the bonus features on some blu ray's. You might want to save your money and get a PS3. It's considered one of the best blu ray player's out there.
  24. We have about 100+ Wii's at the store I work at. Yesterday customers were being told we were out until Friday. By the end of the day we started selling Wii systems when customers asked for one. Also, haven't seen this yet but if you use your Wal-mart credit card or W-M Discover card you get 18 months with no interest on purchases over $250. Be sure the cashier scans the coupon to get this offer.
  25. I wish I could hide stuff but since I work for W-M I could get fired for understocking. For customers, I don't see a problem with it. If the associates on the floor were doing their job "zoning" at night the items would be found. So to all of you out there planning on hiding stuff: Go for it!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to fight the crowds. People get crazy on Black Friday.
