What things are you going to bring with you while waiting in line?
Iliveforblckfri replied to darkwiggles's topic in 2008
I have a friend that I always go to BF sales with. I need to send her to this site the next time she claims that I am starting earlier every year. -
The best recourse we had for a line jumper was my son telling the person, "It may seem strange but if you don't go to the end of the line, it will bother my mom all day and I WILL BE THE ONE THAT HAS TO LISTEN TO HER COMPLAIN. Could you please go to the end of the line for me." I don't know if the person went all the way to the end of the line, but she wasn't in the first twenty.(I had the #1 spot in the line.)

Wow, I just signed in today to see if others were getting excited about BF already. Nice to see that I am not alone. I am a school district librarian who lives on the west coast of Alaska and flies to each of m fifteen schools. I love BF enough that I fly 400 miles to be with my friends in the town of Anchorage. My sons are grown now, so I take lists from others who live in the remote villages here so that I have things to shop for. I hope we all have a great season. Darla

Flipvideo camcorder half off at CVS Drugs!
Iliveforblckfri replied to mcmorris55's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I am very much enjoying reading everyones actions at CVS, I do agree with you that I am a little envious as I only go to CVS when I travel. They haven't seen a reason to come to Alaska yet. Have fun everyone. -
Do you hate telling people what YOU want for Christmas?

I would go for the laptop. I believe that anyone in college today needs one.

Thank you for posting this information. This site is exactly what I was looking for, until I read the reviews here. I think that gift cards should sell for less than the face value as we are paying money before we receive the goods. What galls me are the cards that charge more money than face value for the card.

Hi, Maybe it is because I live in the middle of nowhere, but I order as early as possible from any source. I believe that deadline for normal mail is te 15th of December, but there aren't any guarantees. Good luck.

We didn't get the ad in any of the four papers that we bought in Anchorage Alaska. I asked for it at the store and they told me it would be in the paper. I checked the mailbox it wasn't there. I gave up on them. I spent my time at lots of other stores.:)

I got very little and even knowing the problems with the sales, I was still very disappointed. -
Just to correct myself from earlier, FM will not adjust prices on BF. I have just gone to all the stores that I will got to on BF to ask this question. They were the only store that one price adjust. I did scope out the socks and they do have the ones I want. JC Penny's had the weekend prices on their items now, so I don't need to price adjust there. Darla

One of my partners in shopping just told me this morning that she is not willing to go out that early. I was surprised. Who said she could make up her mind to not shop when the stores deigned to open.

My stepdad used to tease me about my return list. I liked to buy so much, that three days after bf, I would be returning a bunch of the stuff. When I get home I put names on everything. If it doesn't have a name on it or my family doesn't pick it up from the livingroom , it goes back to the store on Monday. (Family pick up pile is for comforters, towels, and other household items that my sons can choose if they need or not.) Now that the kids have moved out, there is less impulsive shopping going on. Last year was great. I had one extra crock pot when I finished. That was only because after I bought a crock pot, I finally found the one I had been looking for. Have a great day,

People may not think you can do it, but please try and let us know.

I agree with you. Getting the good feelings are worth much more than any payment would be. I purchase items for coworkers. It costs $420.00 minimum for a round trip ticket from where we live to where the stores are. My hubby has an airplane and flies me into town. My nephew thinks I should make a profit to help cover my costs. I laugh at him. I like helping my coworkers. :holiday16 :holiday16 :holiday16

I am happy to see that my vote has the majority at this point. It seems that most of us, just like the experience. If we get good deals while we are out watching people act like two year olds, that is a bonus. I can say that, but I need my socks from Fred Meyers

I LOVE Rebates. We send them out when we get home. They are in the mail Friday afternoon. I look at them as a help to me to get the item. So many people don't like them that I am more likely to get the item I want.

As an educator, I am awed by reading all the thought that goes into these gifts. To save some people money, I can tell you that my favorite gifts that I have kept forever are the cards that kids have made for me. These are especially nice if the students draw a picture of what their favorite activity in class is. This isn't to say I don't appreciate gift cards that I have received, but I keep the cards. :)

What do you think the BIGGEST deal will be this year?
Iliveforblckfri replied to rdtsmith's topic in 2007
Feel free to volunteer. My thoughts are that he is going to have a hard time filling this position unless he changes his initial offer. :runaway: :runaway: :runaway: :runaway: -
Hi, I am looking forward to this sale. I want to give good sheets as presents this year. Does anyone know JC Pennys rules on buying product and then getting a price adjustment. One of the people I am shopping with is who I would be buying the gift for. Thanks for any advice.

I used to collect Disney Snowglobes. I gave that up after my shelves at work came tumbling down on me one afternoon. Now it is Christmas decorations that portray something reading. My favorite is a polar bear reading to a penguin from Hallmark last year.

My sister put canned cheese in her children's stocking for a long time to help them believe in Santa. They knew that she hated the stuff, so there was no way she could be santa. I loved getting together with other people and ordering stuff from Oriental Trading Company when my kids were young. I would have enough people that we had 12 kids among us. We would all agree on what small toys to put into the stockings and split the bill. This was a lot cheaper than buying from the store. Always had to have an orange, coloring book, and chocolate.

Wow, This is great. I just wish that they had online voting for the competition. We would all be there for you. Darla
