I think generally TRU is more expensive. But you can find awesome sales if you look and I really like their clothes. When they have their clearance deals you can't beat them.

I don't think she tried at another store. I just know it was from her bridal shoewr and then her wedding and they knew it was stuff of her registery and would not make an exception. I returned a couple of things for her later in the year she paid for in cash, or her husband would. I do like their policy that if you used your checkbook or a charge card you can return without a receipt. That is nice.

My friend was banned from returning anything for a year because she returned so many duplicates she had for wedding presents, that were ON HER REGISTERY. And she had receipts. It was a big pain in the rear for her. Ridiculous.

I am also still looking for a good deal on a lawn mower. I wouldn't mind an electric one, I just don't live close to one of the B&D outlets.

I did ask my friend if things go lower than 75% (other than holiday merchandise) and she said sometimes they do. But she also said they donate to goodwill a lot (which has been posted here before). I will ask her why they don't do anything about people hiding merchandise. They know people do it, maybe they think it is funny? She also said there are the hotwheels collectors that race there first thing in the mornings to go through the cars for the new ones they don't have. So, I guess Target is aware of people's habits.

One of my good friends was in Target management for a long time. She left Target, but has been patiently answering my questions. I asked her about the "8" versus "4". She said yes, for the most part it is true. However, she said a few years ago Target got wise to the customers knowing about 8 versus 4, so they don't always go by it. They sometimes mix things up. Interesting. She also said Target is wise to "clearance customers," and are aware people stash things waiting for the prices to go down. This makes me laugh. She also suggested I get a part-time job at Target! LOL

I looked at Kmart today for the swingset. Nothing. The clerk looked at me like I was stupid when I asked if they had anymore swingsets and said, "uhhhhh, no". Like I was crazy for wanting a swingset in October, in CALIFORNIA!

I tried to by them. The regular price of the doll here in California was $23.99. The sign they had on the dolls was the corrected price, but the add they had on the counter was the uncorrected ad. No signs about the correction. But I did not feel like arguing with them so I left.

I saw that at TRU this weekend that they had the furniture sets BOGO. They had more furniture than normal, and also had the dollhouses BOGO. The My First and also the more expensive My Twins or whatever it is called.

I asked a friend who used to work for Target about any advice she would have. She said that often in electronic clearance if you ask about the display model, they will discount it an additional 30% off the clearance price. They don't mark it most of the time, you have to ask.

Does anyone know of any other stores with swingset clearances?

I was just wondering how you know which stores are older? I live in Northern California and I know my store has been remodeled, I remember it a couple of years ago. I know where the Super Targets, etc. But if I wanted to drive to a neighboring town to go to one of these older targets, is there a way to know which one to go to?

I went today to my TRU and found A BUNCH of great deals, here in Northern California. Not a lot of shoes, but a lot of clothes. I bought probably $300 worth of stuff for about $70. Great deals!

After reading your posts tonight I ran to Target to look for the Lexmark Printer. Have been checking for weeks, have not seen them. Does anyone have the # so I can check? Thanks.

Does anyone know if they have any lawn mowers clearanced out?

My daughter got this dollhouse for christmas last year and I noticed that shortly after christmas the stores no longer carried the furniture! I will be watching this post for input. thanks.

where do you get online returns? Is that a special store? I went tonight and got a few boys shirts marked at $1.98. A little disappointing.
